I paced up and down the entrance of the hospital with my hands in my pockets. It had been a bit chilly these past few days, which was slightly expected before spring. Winter was doing its best to hold on even though its season had long passed. My wooly jacket kept me warm though as I wore denim jeans, my boots, a light jersey and my hat.
We still had fifteen minutes so I was not worried but Benedito was really pushing the limit when it came to time.
The past week had been strange. Every time he came to pick up Danilo for their afternoons together, he came with a bouquet of flowers bigger than the last one and my favorite meals. That forced us to have lunch together before he took his son to wherever they went too. Danilo, the little traitor, warmed up to his Pai so incredibly fast he already started calling him that.
You would think a baby would pick sides but nope, he was loyal as always.
