By the time I landed back at the house, I was in a hurry to get changed into my suit and leave for Houston. I had not been travelling much to the city since Bobby's accident and if I had to count, it was probably a handful of times now.
Even though I never showed it, my stomach twisted when I thought of that road. I knew Bobby was okay now, he was breathing next to me and getting therapy, plus I truly believed Claire was doing a great job with the both of us because we were back to our usual morning bickering.
Yet despite all of that, there were times when I closed my eyes and saw the imagine of the Phantom upside down, I could still hear the gurgle of Bobby as he choked on his blood and his whole upper half was covered in it.
