"Ela está bem?" Benedito stood behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist before he kissed the side of my head. His warmth made me snuggle close to him immediately as the cool night breeze flooded the sunroom. (Is she alright?)
"Não tenho certeza. Acho que ela está sobrecarregada com tudo o que está acontecendo," I sighed as I looked to the bar where Evelyn was chatting up the bar tender who almost looked helpless. (I'm not quite sure. I think she's overwhelmed with everything going on.)
Today had not gone at all like how I hoped. Even though dinner did end on a high note I could not overlook the fact she seemed to aim for Benedito's jugular every chance she got. He was doing a good job at keeping himself calm but I knew it would only last for so long.
