Billie Bob Taylor
The next morning I woke up with Benedito and unlike our usual morning routine where we did everything together, we genuinely gave each other space. He let me shower first and get ready before him. There was still tension in the air from the previous night and I had no idea what was going through his mind.
In fact I had no idea what was going through my own mind. Everything just hung in the air with a heavy, pregnant, constipated and depressed silence that the beautiful Mediterranean Sea felt overwhelming. We had a silent breakfast together before I went out to sit by the beach. The house felt too suffocating.
"Lil Bucky," I looked down to my stomach with a sigh, "This a fucked up situation. Oops! I wasn't meant to swear. You ain't even born yet and I'm already messing up." I let out another deep sigh as my shoulders slumped forward, "Your Pa probably won't be happy with that."
