The formerly dry, brown sand became reddened and spattered everywhere. The General tensed up right then, just as he was about to start another round. He couldn't believe someone had the strength to cut three bodies in a single motion. He was aware of how difficult it was to cut human bodies because, back in his day, he had done so on behalf of the Dictator.
However, he just witnessed someone slicing through three human bodies as if they were made of tofu!
Who are these individuals?
"God. Please destroy these horrible Djins and show me kindness. God, the All-Powerful... Please display your courage for me!"
In terror and desperation for assistance, the General put down his gun and began to pray. His AK-47 was useless, and his soldiers were all slain in front of his very eyes. He didn't have a lot of education, so he assumed that these individuals were the terrible Djins who had appeared as many locals in the nearby villages and towns had claimed.
It goes without saying that Robin and his two female guards were the ones who had arrived to confront them. Additionally, the first stealth team with the required weapons and suits had also arrived.
The stealth suit was a camouflaged one that rendered them both invisible to the naked eye and provided them with adequate protection to deflect pistol bullets and even prevent them from being killed by AK-47 bullets, which always had a fast rate of fire and power
They were fresh recruits from the DPRK, and this was their first battle. JARVIS had always kept a watch on the insurgents in the area, but the absence of technology made connections and communications difficult, making it difficult to tell who was coming for what.
But JARVIS had warned the day before that their camp might be attacked soon, so Robin had ordered a crew to keep watch just outside their excavation and exploratory team.
They were correct to do so, as a recently created militant group actually showed up. The Ghost squad's leader then told Robin that the fish had come for the bait because he had instructed them to let him know.
The Ghost squad was able to ambush this militant group while they were concealed, and it was a piece of cake for them.
"You should stop with the praying Mr. Ibn Abbas. Here I am your only God."
The comments of Robin jolted the General back to reality as he was pleading and hoping that everything was only a dream. Despite the fact that he had never said his name in front of his own subordinates, he didn't anticipate it being spelled out.
"Let me see.. Ibn Abbas.. Worked as air force staff during the rule of Gaddafi and used the connections later to make a new militant group. You have terrorized, looted and raped women from 5 villages that we know of. Quite the repo you have here." Robin said in a plain tone.
The "General" was staring blankly as his misdeeds were spelled out precisely. He was trembling.
"Who.. Who are you?"
"Didn't I tell you? I am your God." Robin replied.
"Please, oh please I kindly ask. Please let me go, I beg you. I promise to behave honorably and never hurt anyone. I'll follow God's instructions and never break the law. Just let me go... please." Abbas was pleading with Robin while bringing his hands together in prayer. When Sigret arrived, she kicked the "General" in the face as he was about to touch Robin's foot.
He lost two teeth at once when the kick struck him in the mouth. In a matter of seconds, blood poured from his mouth onto the fabric, turning it red.
"I am sorry Mr. Ibn Abbas, I can't just let you go. Though many foreign hands had made a living in this country by selling weapons but it couldn't be denied that it was you who had picked the weapons. I could have understood if it was for defense but you used it for your own selfish desires. For that all you will receive is death." Myrene quickly killed him once Robin finished speaking by hacking off his head with one blow of her powerful sword.
Robin just wanted to keep things clean and didn't want to torture this man pointlessly. In the midst of this, Robin heard a message on the radio.
"Commander, there is truck approaching us from the team and it is probably the mercenary team. Do you want us to stop them?"
"The soldiers from Academi? Let them come. Sigret.. Myrene.. go back."
Robin waited on top of the sand dune as Sigret and Myrene returned to the TARDIS. Soon, he noticed two headlights stopped on the opposite side. Three men emerged from the truck with bright torches. As they turned to look around, they soon noticed the lifeless bodies scattered across the sand.
One of the soldiers was prompted by this to radio back what they were observing. After some maneuvering, one of their torches' lights shone on Robin's face. He was wearing a Blue Beetle outfit. The soldier was utterly terrified by this.
They believed they would be ambushed, so he almost fired, but he restrained himself and pointed his gun at Robin while yelling.
"Hands where I can see them.. Show me your hands.. Show me yours hands." Following that the other two mercenary soldiers also shouted the same.
Robin just looked at them with unblinking eyes as the torch light didn't make him go blind.
"Soldier. This isn't America."
And in the next second, all the three soldiers felt the cold sensation of muzzle on their necks from behind.
"What the.."
"When did they appear?"
The Ghost squad wasn't gone; they were still on the battlefield. Since these soldiers were posing a threat to the Commander, they needed to establish their authority.
"Look man. I am just a mercenary soldier. I came here to inspect. I am not looking for any confrontations." Said another soldier and from his voice it was apparent that he was the leader of this trio.
"I know Mr. David Miller. Just drop your weapons so that no one would get hurt."
The leader tensed up since he didn't anticipate hearing his name spoken. This was a highly rigorous protocol, and they would only be called by their codenames. Their names weren't even known to his own company's comrades. It was carried out in order to safeguard the workers' families.
However, this blue clown just appeared and yelled out his name. He was scared and enraged at the same time. It indicated that these individuals were serious and had reached the top.
"We just came here after hearing the gunshots. We mean no harm." After saying that he let go of his gun and also nudged his comrades to drop the guns. He didn't want anyone to die here. The way the bodies were littered with shots at the head meant that whoever was holding the guns on their necks were pros.
"I know. You don't have to be so fearful of us. We came here to actually protect you."
"Protect us?" Miller was confused.
"There was a group who was trying to ambush and take hostage from the exploration team that you have been protecting."
"What? But our contacts here didn't give us any warning. And even if they were why are you protecting us?" Miller asked.
"This is a new militant group and was not locally based. The group was led by Ibn Abbas. He was a staff in Gaddaffi's air force. And the reason I have protected you because I am the employer of the team and yours too."
The eyes of every soldier were wide. They weren't prepared for this discovery. The fact that only a few soldiers came to inspect was due to their assumption that there was some sort of ambush planned for them. But it went beyond that.
As soon as the muzzles were removed from the necks, the Ghost team disappeared, leaving only Robin behind. He started to leave. What Miller and his allies witnessed shocked them. Soldiers were dressed in red suits that rendered them invisible.
In addition, their "employer" was donning a different colored outfit. What in the world was happening?
"If you are so powerful, then why hire us. Why bother using our company in the first place?"
"It's because the world isn't ready to see us as of yet... Piece of advice.. The world is going to change soon. Learn new tricks. Maybe learn about space. That will be helpful."
"Space.. What does it even mean?" Miller shouted but by that time, the thrusters of Robin had already lit up and wings spread. He flew away to the horizon without even looking back.
The soldiers at the back couldn't even believe their eyes and one had to pinch themselves.
Was this real?
"Captain! What the fuck was that?"
"I don't know." Miller as she saw the bodies on the ground. Somehow he believed what the man had said.
