"You should not be doing this at your age. Dad and Grandma are tired of it " Leon said getting into the East room. His mother turned around to see him walk in.
"My age, what do you mean by that? You and I know I have aged so well I can pass for a woman in her thirties " she said.
"Yes mother I know but someone of that age would be home making dinner for her family," he said helping her to bed.
"Family, the same family that said I was being unfair on you for asking you to marry now " she yelled.
"Mom why don't you just drop that subject? It will happen when it's time, for now, rest, and Dad will be here soon to take you home " he covered her.
She frowned, "Am just worried about you as a mother but you all see me as a villain. Tell your father to hurry up these beds make my back ache "
He scoffed, "Alright, I will go call him right now "
He called his father and told him to hurry up and pick up his mother then went to the children's ward.
"Nurse get me the reports of the child in room nineteen under Celina Cowell" he instructed.
He walked to his office and reviewed the reports he was given.
....
"Mommy can I sleep with you tonight " Lance smiled holding his mother's son.
He was four years old but suffered from severe asthma. Celina had tried her best to get him the best medication but sometimes it wasn't enough.
"Next time listen to nanny Jane and don't try to go out in the cold," she said. He nodded his little head.
"Am going to go home and get you some change of clothes or you will get sick too " Jane said getting up.
"Am sorry to bother you with this, Jane " Celina said.
"It's okay, just stay here with him while I ran back home. I will get you guys something to eat on the way too " Jane said walking to the door.
"Be careful on the road " Celina said.
Jane chuckled, 'You should say that to yourself " before walking out.
Celina pulled off the wet coat and sat back down next to her son.
"Go to sleep sweetie, mommy will be here watching over you " she kissed his little cheeks.
He closed his eyes and went to sleep. Celina grabbed her back and got her phone. She sighed realizing it had been damaged when she fell.
"Guess I need a new phone now, boss is going to go crazy not seeing me there tonight," she said under her breath.
Her eyes moved back to Lance who was now sleeping and she smiled.
"Am glad your safe my little knight " Celina placed her head next to his smiling warmly.
Leon knocked on the door but no one answered so he let himself in.
The room was quiet apart from the slow breathing of the two people inside.
Celina had dozed off next to her son. Leon found himself smiling as he watched them. He had wanted to say goodbye before leaving but it seemed she was asleep. He pulled off his jacket and draped it on Celina's shoulders.
"You may burrow this. So that I can have one more excuse tomorrow to see you " he muttered.
He looked over at the cute little boy and then turned to leave.
"You both have a good night," he said turning off the light and walking out.
