Chapter 6 - FOREST

Part 6

"When the wind blows so hard, it makes your hair close your face, and you are so beautiful, I see"

I hear someone read a poem, and that makes me wake up from my unconscious sleep.

"How can I sleep here?" I say to myself when I look around, I sleep under the big tree outside the cave.

"I think, I entered the cave, I see many coffins, but how can I lay here?"

There are so many questions that I can't understand with this condition. I really want to go back home, but I don't remember the way. I just wait my granny but where is she, I can't find her.

"Oh Lord, what should I do, now?"

"How can I go out from here?"

"This forest will be dark in the evening, and I don't know what should I do."

"I am hungry, Oh God, please help me, my body is so weak."

Then, I don't know what happened after I see the darkness like in the night without any lights.

"Eloise, my little girl, my sweet girl, please open your eyes, I bring some fruits for you."

I hear a voice, this voice makes me open my eyes. This is still dark, and I'm afraid.

"Who are you?" I see a beautiful woman with a white dress bring a small lamp and some fruits in her hand.

"Hi, Eloise. My name is Tsuraya. I am a fairy in this forest, I just look you sleep here. Are you hungry? I bring some fruits for you, let's eat these apples."

I don't have bad think, I take an appe and eat it.

"What are you doing here, Eloise? This forest is so wide and how about if you meet some wild animals?"

"Actually, I follow my grandmother enter this forest, Tsuraya. I saw, she entered the cave. When I followed her enter the cave, I saw many coffins. But, I don't know why I can sleep here."

"Where is the cave?" Tsuraya asked me.

"I think the cave is around here, but I don't know why how can it be lost, Tsuraya."

"I live in this cave since a hundred thousand years, Eloise. I'm sure, there isn't cave around here, there is no cave in this forest."

"But, how can it happened? I clearly looked my grandmother entered the cave."

"Maybe, you are dreaming, Eloise. Do you want to back home? I will accompany you. Where is your home?"

"I live near the lake, Tsuraya."

"Casablanca lake? The black lake? Are you sure living near that lake?"

"Yes, I never go out from my home. I just play around my home. There are so many mysterious situation that I can't explain to you, Tsuraya."

"Tsuraya, I feel very tired and so sleepy, hoaams."

Suddenly, I see the darkness again. I feel that my body is so comfort and the wind is blowing slowly. I feel the peaceful condition. Am I dreaming again? Who is Tsuraya? Is she the forest fairy? I'm not sure with her, but I feel that she will help me.

"Eloise, wake up. Why did you sleep so long, there is Marion in front of the house waiting for you." Grandma's voice woke me up, I was very surprised, and immediately returned all my consciousness.

How did this happen, what really happened. Has anyone turned the clock so that it spins faster or maybe slower.

"My head hurts and I feel dizzy, Granny," I said to my grandmother, whose face was very calm. "Are you sleeping in the wrong position, Eloise."

"Yes, it's possible."

I'm trying to remember what happened yesterday, is it really just a dream? If it wasn't a dream, I should still be in the forest and I might not know my way home. I got out of bed and headed to the front of the house.

"Hi, Marion," I said. "Hi, Eloise. Why is your face so pale?" asked Marion. "Is not it? I just need to rest, I'm not feeling well."

"Hope you get better soon, am I bothering you?" "No, Marion. Can you accompany me to walk by the lake for a casual chat while gazing at the moonlight?" I said.

'Of course, come on.' "Marion, I feel something strange about myself."

"Strange how, Eloise?" "I feel like all this is happening is confusing me."

"Try to tell slowly so that I can hear and provide solutions."

"How come you come at this time of night, Marion? Aren't you afraid of getting lost in the forest or meeting wild animals?"

"I already know all the forest roads, Eloise. Don't worry, I can protect myself."

"Okay, I'll tell you everything, Marion. Thank you for being my best friend."

"Just tell me everything, Eloise." I told Marion all the stories I could remember.

From the beginning I followed my grandmother, about caves, until the last one about fairies. It seems at first glance that it doesn't make sense and it seems like I'm hallucinating, but everything I tell you is real.

"Do you feel something sore or uncomfortable in your body, Eloise?" asked Marion. "There isn't any. It was only when I woke up that I felt very tired and had pain in my head and back." "Did nothing hurt you?"

"Nothing, Marion."

"Was everything I experienced was purely a hallucination, Marion?"

"I don't know, Eloise. I can't give any answer, may you always be protected by God. If you need my help, as long as I can, I will definitely help you, Eloise."

"Thank you so much Marion for being my best friend."

Last night after talking with Marion, Marion decided to go home immediately because she would help her father look for firewood in the forest. I went back into the house and I was determined to ask Granny everything.

I can't stand it anymore if I have to live like an undead like this. I wanted Granny to explain to me exactly what was going on and what she was doing when she wasn't home.

"Granny, come here there's something I want to talk to you about," I said.

"What, Eloise?" Granny said as she took a seat next to me.

"Granny I'm tired of living a life like this. I want to help you work, I want to interact with the outside world. I want to get to know a lot of people. Granny is too old to work, if Granny won't let me then I will go alone to see the outside world. I'm so bored as if I'm living in a prison in this lake."

Granny was just silent, not a single word escaped her lips, she was just silent and looked at me very sadly. Granny didn't say anything, she turned around and went into the room. I glimpsed that her back was a bit wet and as usual Granny was probably sweating profusely after activities. I don't have bad thoughts about him, I just want to understand and get along with the outside world. I'm sixteen years old, I'm bored if I have to stay at home, while I want to have good interactions with everyone out there. I decided to go into the room, locked the door and windows. I find it hard to close my eyes to fall back asleep, all things and thoughts racing through my head.

"Will I hear that strange sound again tonight? Will the black-robed, Derald-like person return? Will there be a coffin floating back from the lake? Will there be a black shadow flashing back from inside Grandma's room?" All thoughts were racing until it made my chest feel very tight. "Eloise, open your door," suddenly I heard my grandmother's voice from outside the room. I quickly got up and let my grandmother into the room. "I'm sorry Granny if I've wronged you a lot."

"Tonight, grandma will decide to tell you everything, Eloise. After this, you must become a strong and independent child, even though the world is not easy for you, at least Grandma has accompanied you for these eight years. Grandma didn't think that her granddaughter had transformed into a beautiful woman and a teenager with a high ego."

"What do you mean Granny? Eloise doesn't understand."

"Grandma will tell you everything now, please don't say anything first, Grandma will tell you everything."

"In the past, your father and mother died not only from eating poisonous mushrooms they got from the forest, but there were other factors that made them leave you forever."

"Lake Casablanca used to be a peaceful lake and all tourists who came here could raise money for the government and your parents who have been trusted to manage it. It all ended when there was an incident of a child who fell in the lake and his body could not be found until now." "Actually, the child is still alive today but has another form, namely as a vampire and sometimes as a Dracula. Actually Granny died long before your parents died. Granny had been properly buried beside Grandpa's grave in the local cemetery at the north end of the forest near the road to the market.

If you want to visit granny and grandpa, you can ask Marion to accompany you." "Granny was given power by a powerful fairy godmother who they are the main enemy of the demon kingdom that has taken control of this lake at night. Granny can guard you at night so you can't be attacked by the demons. If morning says hello, then Granny can't help you because you will already be guarded by a herd of fairies who triumph when the sun hits. You didn't realize that all this time, because not everyone is able to see a fairy in her true form."

I gaped at Grandma's story, I wanted to ask a lot of things, but I held myself back until Grandma finished telling the story. "Your father and mother have a pact with the Demon Kingdom down below in this lake. In fact, you are the one who will be taken prisoner by the Demon King, because the Demon Lord feels that your father and mother have owed them a lot through this lake."

"Instead of sacrificing you who are still small, finally your parents are willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of your life, Eloise. Since then, Granny doesn't know where your parents' bodies are. At that very moment, the Fairy Queen Mother ordered the grandmother who was sleeping peacefully, to take care of you until you grew up and until that time everything will be explained clearly."

"That's why grandma has always forbade you to leave the house all this time, all for your safety, Eloise." I cried, I didn't think that Granny had done so much in my life. "Granny, thank you very much," I said as I looked at Granny whose face was getting paler and I felt her body becoming more transparent like a spirit.

"Granny, why is Granny like this?" I said panic. "Granny will return to God's house, if the truth and the truth have been conveyed by Granny. Everything will come true, from now on you have to be a strong woman and solve all the mysteries about the death of your parents, Eloise. Don't get acquainted easily with men whose origins are unclear, because demons can transform into whatever they want."

"If you are in doubt about knowing the person you are talking to is a good person – good or not, you can close your eyes for a few seconds, then everything will be clear. The fairy godmother entrusted that ability to be given to you. From now on in difficult circumstances, you will definitely be helped by the fairy godmother whose royal throne is in the forest."

"Granny, yesterday Eloise had a dream that there was a goad and Granny entered the cave. Then, Eloise saw a lot of coffins."

"Yes, Eloise. Actually the cave is the tomb of the people, and it will be a path to immortality for those who have been called to the house of God." "Be strong girl, Eloise. Meet your daily needs from forests and lakes, and never leave the house late at night. Tell Marion to play before the sun sets.

Granny left this Crystal necklace, this is your link with the fairy godmother. Don't lose it and keep wearing this necklace."

I received a crystal necklace bearing a star that was very beautiful. "Selling forest products and fish in the lake to the market where Marion also helps her parents sell there. Ask Marion for help so you don't get into trouble. Granny prays for you to be given strength and the best mate in the future, all the facts have been revealed by Eloise. Now, it's time for Granny to go, see you again in the afterlife."

Suddenly Granny grew paler and disappeared. I was so shocked, between believing and not believing. Everything is like a dream, I pinch my body repeatedly and it really hurts. "Oh God, this is not a dream, what a drama of life, God. Since childhood I was abandoned by my parents, now I also have to be left by Granny. I have truly become alone and alone. may I be a strong girl, just like what Granny told me."

I cried and was very sad to hear Granny's words and now she has left me forever. I'll find Marion tomorrow morning and tell her everything that happened. I'm grateful that the stock of food that Granny prepared in the refrigerator is still safe for the next few days so that I can follow Marion to sell at the market these days. In the morning, I do not feel if I sleep long enough.

The sun rose a little high, it was already eight in the morning. I made sure last night I didn't dream, there really wasn't any food served. That means, granny has really left me. There is the deepest regret in my heart, but I can't if I have to be shackled forever. I have to be strong and find my identity, if necessary I will move from this lake and look for a better life later. I rushed to wash my face and braced myself for going through the forest. There was a lot of doubt in me considering the events of the past few days.

"Should I just wait for Marion to come? So that I don't worry about getting lost in the forest."

"I'd better wait for Marion to come, I'll tell Marion everything. He's the only person who wants to be friends with me. If only he didn't want to play in this lake of darkness, maybe I won't have friends forever and I don't know where my life is going. Life punishes me very cruelly, but I believe all this is God's plan and everything has been outlined in such a way."

I started go to the kitchen and cook for myself. I really feel an extraordinary emptiness, for eight years I usually wait for my grandmother at dusk, now there is no one else. My grandmother's spirit has returned to God's house in peace after eight years of accompanying me and taking care of me.

"Tsuraya? Is she the fairy godmother that grandma was referring to. Is he such a good ranger that I have been helped a lot by Tsuraya."

Since my grandmother left, I really don't dare to leave the house. I even accidentally closed all the windows and kept the door locked. I'm completely alone right now, if I leave the house, I'm just afraid that something bad will happen to me.

I still want to continue my life according to my grandmother's message that I will become a very strong and great girl. I will open the mystery about the death of my parents and where their bodies are buried, I want to visit their graves. Because they are really good parents to me even though they left me since childhood, may God give the most beautiful place in heaven for them both. After all day I spent only time in the house to clean the house and write poetry, finally with great anticipation,

Marion also came when the day was getting late.

"Hi, Eloise. What is going on? Why are all the windows of the house tightly closed? I thought you were going somewhere."

"Come in, Marion. I'll tell you everything in the house." I started to tell all the events that happened to Marion, Marion repeatedly shook her head in surprise as if everything that happened was a drama in a movie.

"Help me Marion, I want to sell in the market just like you." "Okay, Eloise. You can catch fish in the lake, I'm sure God will always help you. You can sell it raw or sell it as grilled fish. Your grilled fish is always delicious, I'm sure there will be many customers buying your wares." "Thank you so much Marion for helping me. After my money is collected later, I want to move from here Marion, I want to have neighbors by living in the village. Here I am alone, moreover I don't have anyone anymore." "Well Eloise, may your wish come true. I will help you as much as I can, yes, you can stay at my house. I just don't want to be the subject of gossip from the neighbors, so for the time being just collect your money later to build a simple house. Behind my house there is still land that you can build a house on." There is no intention to love each other, only as friends, that's me and Marion. From now on I will try to spread my net across the lake to catch fish. I'll sell it at the market by Marion's side helping her parents sell vegetables. "Marion, thank you very much," I said as I hugged Marion tightly. I never thought that God would send such a good person like Marion to help me.

"Actually I'm also afraid of Marion, sometimes when night comes, there are a lot of strange and noisy sounds around the lake. I can only endure until then I can move from here, but if you think about it, I also catch fish in this lake, I can also grow vegetables around this lake. I'm getting restless too, Marion." "Do your best, Eloise. All will be in favor of you. I believe that God will always help you." After a long conversation with Marion, Marion said goodbye to go home before it got dark. I made sure all the windows and doors were locked back very tightly. "God, always protect me," I said, cupping my hands in front of my chest. I took my dinner and suddenly there was the sound of something heavy falling on the roof of my house. DEBUMMMM!

I was very surprised when I heard that voice. I rushed back into the room and put down my plate which I would use to eat. I chose not to eat and went back into the room out of fear. "What's that sound? Why is the sound so loud and so loud?" Not long after, it rained heavily, followed by thunder.

"Grandma, Eloise is scared," I said to myself, praying that nothing bad would happen. The loud sound of lightning coupled with the sound of heavy rain mixed with wind was enough to scare me.

"Will there be a hurricane coming? Or maybe there will be a storm coming?" I heard the storm coming closer and closer. There was a great hissing sound of the wind, I didn't imagine what if my house was destroyed, moreover my house was only made of wood instead of strong and sturdy bricks.

"Lord, save me, protect me." From between the wooden walls of the room I saw a very bright light, but I didn't dare to peek out the window. I squinted my eyes to see carefully what was out there.
