"Join my pack or be wiped out." Kenneth tells Fred. "Your daughter, Emilia, has a similar power so it would work out well. That's the only chance to survive."
"No." Emilia replies. "We are not going to join you. We will have to find a solution, Dad. Kenneth, please you can go."
"See how curt your daughter is." Kenneth scoffs, smirking at Fred. "I meant to call her my mate. I can easily retrieve your power so you don't have any guts to be rude to me."
"Where is Andrew and Jude?" Emilia asks as she looks around the corridor. "They must be looking for us now."
"No. They were right here in front of us. Maybe they went to pee?" Fred suggests as Emilia remembers that those are the Betas that saved her and Fred, by using the paranormal water.
"… and to get me is the most arduous task to embark upon." Kenneth continues. "I'll go to my pack now but note, you're my mate and you forever will whether it's convenient for you or it's not. I'll come back for you and…" he suddenly cuts his speech short making Fred and Emilia stare at him as though they are interested in hearing more.
"… I'll make league with Alpha Max to send you both to the moon goddess if you don't cooperate." He rants on as Emilia's lips quaver but she looks away from him so he won't notice and take an advantage of them.
"Please, don't do that." Fred pleads but Emilia signals to him through her eyeballs that he should not. "We will talk, Kenneth, okay?"
"Over. We will talk in my pack house. Follow me behind and make sure you have my scent before you enter my pack house." Kenneth rants. "I gave you my scent, remember?"
"Oh." Fred remarks. "We can't find it any more. Our pack is gone forever. This doesn't seem feasible."
"If you can't find it, you have one more option. And that's to follow me right now." Kenneth's voice starts to increase in pitch. Fred moves behind him but Emilia drags him back.
"No, Dad." She shivers as she tells him. "Don't follow him."
"Then, how do we escape from Max?" Fred asks in an infuriated tone. "You know what, following him will solve everything. I don't have his scent. He's going already, we gotta follow him!'
Fred jerks his hands off of Emilia's and Emilia's face goes down, seeing him defy her orders.
"At least go with your Betas and survivors." Emilia says as she sees him moving fast to catch up with Kenneth.
"There is no survivor." Fred clips and shuts the damaged pack's gate shut.
"Andrew." Emilia muffles under her breath. "Jude. Yeah, we did this."
Jude creeps out behind her and Andrew approaches from the other direction.
"I know Dad, he would insist I follow him or rather, drag me with him but now, he's gone. The power worked. Thanks to Jude." Emilia softly chuckles.
"It couldn't have worked if not for Andrew." Andrew cuts in. "I made sure Kenneth wasn't present so we could use the power on Fred."
"Thanks to you all and what's the next step?" Emilia rolls her eyes at Andrew, seeming puerile.
"Get into the room. Let's instill power into ourselves. Maybe we would be able to bring down the moon goddess?" Jude says.
"Order. Say order, not bring down. Wanna dethrone her?" Andrew chuckles.
"You take everything literally." Emilia tells him and knocks him on his forehead with a clenched fist of hers.
"The Shifting room." Emilia tells them as they march towards the room while the pack house echoes and putrid smells of decayed body. Once a wolf dies through the power of a certified witch or wizard, such wolf becomes totally ruined and starts to smell strongly and irritably.
Before they could touch the handle of the door, the door creaks open and a wolf yells at them from inside making them gasp and fall backwards until they hit the ground and start to wince in pain.
"What the!" Jude tries to cuss. "…was that?"
"Who's brave enough to check if anyone is in?" Andrew says, still on the ground and stupefied from the strange and sudden occurrence.
"You two are guys. Males. You're just being cowardice. You're wolves. Come on, jerk the room open." Emilia instructs.
"No. it doesn't mean. You're a witch, you have much more power than we have, so go." Jude replies.
"Can we just use another room?' Andrew suggest in a tired voice.
"No." Emilia clips. "Only the shifting room can be fit for what we want to do."
"I hope you won't scare the shit out of me when you start instilling the powers in me." Jude says.
"That's off-point, Jude." Emilia replies. "That's one of the reasons this room is left without getting burnt. As you can see, other rooms have been burnt."
"But since a wizard burnt here, why should this be left out?" Andrew asks.
"It requires a special ability to destroy this room." She replies.
"Like, you mean, your witch power is greater than wizard power is?"
Emilia nods. "Only in terms of this."
"Wow. But I have a suggestion." Jude says. "Can this room become portable?"
"That's a wise question." Emilia replies. "A question Andrew will never think of asking."
"I'm not a dunce, whatcha insinuating?" Andrew rolls his eyes at her.
"To know more about this. Quick. Let's get up. We have to kill anyone inside there." Emilia replies and looks at Jude and then at Andrew. As she does, they both nod and they jerk up immediately. With his leg, Jude kicks the door open and it falls flat to the ground immediately. Emilia sees the object crawling around the room.
"This doesn't look like a wolf." Jude says, looking at Emilia then at the object quietly and creepily finding where to hide.
"Thanks for observing. I know Andrew never will." Emilia says making Andrew fume again so much that he hits her head and two horns stick out immediately. Emilia smartly lets them in, not wanting any to know but Andrew knows already while Jude is still left in the dark.
They both get inside the room as they walk towards the object. Andrew lags behind, not wanting to gasp or screech in case the object darts towards them suddenly.
"Activate your wolves." Emilia tells them. "But don't fight it yet until I tell you to."
"And even if it fights me?" Andrew asks in a shaky tone.
"Coward." Jude and Emilia say at same time.
"It's easier." Emilia says and keeps quiet for a while as she sees the object staying at a point.
"What's easier?" Jude asks.
"If you don't fight it, you'll automatically get the newbie wizard power." Emilia says as she leans her back on the door.
"That seems complicated." Andrew sighs.
"Since you no longer have a brain." Emilia rudely retorts but Andrew gives it a wide berth.
"I'll use my witch power to fight this animal and once it spits at you, don't avoid it. We surely need the witch power to escape or else…" she scoffs. "We'll be captured. Either by Max or by Kenneth."
"Alpha Kenneth has captured Fred already." Andrew retorts.
"He volunteered." Emilia replies.
"Fred is going to cooperate with Kenneth of surety, and that means we can't escape."
"Jude, I didn't least expect this from your lips." Emilia says as she suddenly changes where she's standing. With an averagely but repeatedly gasping, the object and unrecognizable animal darts towards the three of them, sending Emilia to the ground.
"No, No!" Jude wails. "If it was one of us, it'd have been better. Emilia is the one to help!"
Emilia tries to avoid it but it seems the power's got her. Jude drags the animal off of her with force but unsure if she's already been hurt.
"You can attack it." Emilia's voice drops to whispers. "If you still need the wizard power for defence and attack."
"But you said not to." Andrew says.
"But I'm saying to, now."
"But I hope you're good." Jude says as he suddenly finds himself on the ground with the animal on top of him. Andrew moves near to save him.
"No. Don't save me. Let it spit at me." Jude says.
"She corrected us." Andrew replies.
"No."
"Yes, I did. Once it spits on you, then you'll die." Emilia says. "Since I've told you to attack, you should get that tip too."
Jude then lets out his wolf and as he wants to hit the animal, poof. It wanes in air, sending Jude back to his mortal body.
"We got this. I got the power." Jude cheers. "I can feel it within me. I can feel the immortality in my wolf."
Emilia smiles and hugs him.
"This has put Kenneth into trouble. In negotiable terms, his power can be suspended." Emilia says and Jude takes note.
"Did Andrew get it too?" Emilia asks and sees him drooling.
"I didn't." he sobs.
"No worries. We're here for you." She says and the illumination in the room gets brighter. Andrew takes a peep outside and gasps as he dodges beside Emilia.
"Alpha Max is here." He says. "With three other Alphas."
"You lie a lot." Emilia says.
"Go have a look."
"We are dead." Jude says. "I can feel the wolf. Kenneth is also with him!"
