Eshana's POV:
*ring ring*
I got ready. While I was about to take the backpack, I heard my phone ring. I picked it up to hear,
"Eshana? Are you ready? Where's your brother?" the person asked.
"Yes I am and I'm sure Amar has reached downstairs. But how are we planning to escape?" I asked as I took my essentials with some outfits and continued to stuff them in my bag.
"I have an idea. Now listen carefully...." the person continued to explain the plan in detail and as I continued to listen, I was totally speechless.
"You do know that my brother...he won't- No way! He'll bury me alive! And my parents will abandon me too!" I exclaimed in horror.
"Oh babe, C'mon. This is the only way and you trust me, right? Just go one with it!" the person said and hung up.
I placed the phone on the table and glanced at the corner of the table to find the idol of Lord Ganesh. I picked it up from the table and held it close to my heart before closing my eyes.
'I guess this is it then. I'm sorry mom and dad but I've got no choice. Lord, please help me' I prayed and placed the idol in my side bag.
I sneaked into my brother's room in search of something. It's a good thing that my room is just opposite his room. I kept wandering my eyes until a silver color thing catches my eye.
'Found it!' I did a little victory dance as I took that thing and got back into my room.
I took my bag and threw it out off my balcony. I then took the long rope enough to reach the ground. I tied it to the grills of my balcony. When I found it was tight enough, without thinking much, I climbed over the balcony and got down with the help of the rope.
As soon as I reached the ground, I ran to my garage and peeked in to find my brother's car missing. I glanced and my watch.
'Hm. 40mins to go'
I entered the garage and took the cover to find my handsome hero. My brother's bike.
It's been a while since I've gone for a ride with him.
I climbed on the bike and took the key which I stole from my brother's room and slid it in. I started the bike and drove away.
______________
Half away, I stopped the bike at the corner and waited for certain someone.
'Where on earth are they?! I told them it was one hour to go but that doesn't mean they come after an hour!' I huffed as I stood in the corner.
It was a dark yet beautiful sight to see. With busy roads and street lights, the sun has already made its way out giving a clear view of beautiful stars.
Moon, oh moon, shying away finding comfort behind the clouds. It is a beautiful weather. I feel the breeze touch my skin as I took a breath of fresh air feeling nature.
Calm and peaceful.
The time of the entire 24 hours, dawn is one of my favorites.
I remember when I was a 15-year-old, my brother got his first bike. I used to sneak out with my brother at night to have a long ride. He drove up the hills and I could see the entire city from the top. We lay on the ground on our backs and watch the night sky with millions of stars. We never knew when time passed by and we fell asleep.
We woke up to find more than 50 missed calls from home. We reached home to find angry faces. Our parents yelled at us and we were holding our laughs though we knew we made a mistake but never stopped sneaking at night.
From that day forward, the night was always my favorite.
As I was lost in thoughts, I heard a beep. I turned my head towards the source to find a bike coming my way at high speed. I didn't waste time as I sat back on my bike and drove as I found them following me.
______________
After a short ride, we reached our destination. As we got off our bikes I felt my phone vibrate. I took it from my pocket to find a message and a missed call. A message from my younger brother Shreyas about my whereabouts.
'Shoot! I forgot to tell him!' I muttered to myself and sent him a quick text,
[ Do me a favor and pick up Amar's bike from here. *location sent* ~ Eshana ]
"Hey, tell Shreyas to text my sis about the bike too." the mysterious person aka my best friend Disha whispered into my ears startling me and my phone almost fell from my grasp.
"Disha! Don't sneak up on me like that!" I exclaimed with one hand on my chest.
"I'm sorry but I won't stop doing that or any other ways to irritate you, babe." She winked at me. Before I could say something she cut me off,
"And... I'll continue to do it more and more since you didn't even tell me about your American Sweetheart!"She glared at me so hard I could feel goosebumps on my skin. She then gestured her eyes to my phone before walking towards the entrance.
I could hear soft muffled laughs which had me turn my head towards the source to find yet another idiot aka Ridha trying hard not to laugh. I pouted in anger not to get myself distracted since I don't have much time left. I texted Shreyas again and checked the missed call. It was Maddy. I texted her too before leaving towards the entrance with Ridha. I found Disha who already checked in.
'Oof! The plane hasn't taken off yet' I muttered as we checked in through security. We ran to the gate and found the plane.
"Guys, are you ready for the first round of lectures?" I asked them.
"I'm scared.." "I'm ready" They replied at the same time. Ridha and I turned to Disha who said she is ready.
"Y-you...How?" Ridha stammered. We all know my brother is not a sweet brother anymore. He's THE Amar Agarwal now.
"Guys! Stand here for another 15 mins and you'll miss the flight!" Disha said as she went forward.
"Wait!" I stopped her. I and Ridha went to her.
"I-I... I couldn't thank you both enough for everything. In spite of me requesting you both to not come with me, you're here. I-I... than-" before I could continue both of them pulled me into a hug as I sobbed.
"There's no need to thank your sisters and we are always here for you so we can continue with this later", Disha said as she patted my back.
"Yeah, dude! It's just 10 mins left. Hurry up!" Ridha said as she broke the hug and ran towards the plane. We just followed her with our backpacks.
______________
As we continued to find our seats, I found a familiar person. 'Lord, save me!' I muttered as I told my friends to follow me. I went towards the person to find his eyes closed as he leaned on his back and we found 3 seats next to him. We stood in front of him not knowing how to explain the stunt we pulled today. 'I'm not doing this' I whispered to them and went behind Ridha.
'I-I... He's not my brother and um... I-I... forgot to wear my scarf! I can't face him this way!' She whispered and went behind Disha. We both stared at each other listening to Ridha's dumb excuse as we both know she used to face my brother without a scarf when she visits my home before. Disha just rolled her eyes and was about to just call him when I panicked and pulled her behind us. I am not ready to face him yet.
"What?" She snapped as she glared at both of us and we just slapped our heads. Of course, she has to ask that out loud! I then realized that Ridha and Disha are both behind me.
It only means that I...me..no no! Holy Shit.
I turned my head towards the front to see my brother has already opened his eyes and he is now staring at me in shock which then turned to anger. The problem is that one row is close to another row so he's only able to see me. He was about to yell just then I moved sideways in horror. Ridha sensed it and she turned sideways too. Now he could see Disha too. I was speechless to see my brother gaping like a fish that lost its way back to the water. I then followed his gaze to find Disha glaring at him.
'Wow? How did- What in the world is going on here?' I muttered to myself. I never knew that even the new version of my brother is still scared of her. I mean who wouldn't be? I glanced at Ridha to find her speechless too.
"Are you done staring? Now take our bags and keep them on the top." Disha said to my brother. She just threw all our bags on him and took her seat which was next to him.
"What The fuck is going on here? Eshu?! What stunt are you playing? How did y'all reach- OH SHIT! MY BIKE?!" He exclaimed in horror and everyone stared at us in amusement.
"Um...I-I..." I stammered as I didn't know how to respond.
"No! Not just that. What the fuck are y'all wearing? And Disha, y-you drove wearing t-that?" He gulped as he stared at us, at her. Of course, he would ask that since we 3 look like high school badass with our black leather outfits.
"Are you done now? It's not her idea, it's mine. Also, I can wear what I want. One day I could wear just a bikini and ride a bike. Do you have a problem with that now Mr. Agarwal?!" Disha told calmly making his jaw drop. Her glare was enough to shut him up.
Did I ever mention how much of a tomboy Disha is? Well, there are no words to describe her. I didn't know what to say anymore so we just took the seats next to them as the announcement began and waited for the plane to take off.
'Bye India. See you soon!'
