Chapter 20 - Scars and potential of object 003

Author's notes: the chapter came out a little later, sorry. Enjoy reading :)

Anafel turned around and left, and stretched out her hand to take the leadership. "Stop! What the fuck!? " I thought in shock and saw my hand. When I stretched out my hand, the sleeve that hid everything down to the brush receded a little and because of this I saw a thin line that was not there. "I have a bad feeling... Quickly to the mirror! I shouted in my mind, and rushed to my room.

When I ran into the room, I had to throw a book on the bed and go to the mirror. "There doesn't seem to be anything on the face, but what's on the body... Need to check! " I thought in a panic and started taking off my clothes, and as my clothes decreased, my mood gradually worsened. "There is only one explanation for this... The healing magic of the old man begins to be removed from my body," I thought and began to count my scars. "One, two, three.... twenty nine... fifty-seven and these are the ones that just appeared! " I thought in shock and couldn't clench my teeth. "This nit... I want to tear her apart! Chop and grind every bone in his body and eat it! "an incredible hatred gripped my mind, but it couldn't compare to the hatred I feel towards heaven.

I clenched my fists so hard that my fingers pierced my milky skin and thick dark red blood flowed from them. "I need to calm down, premature rage and anger will only bring me to the old man's table," I tried to think rationally. My anger somehow stimulated my aura and the surrounding air slowly turned into a pale-pale fog. After a couple of minutes, it covered my entire body and only my eyes, which were softly glowing, could be seen from the fog.

They carried all the hatred towards the old man, but there could also be glimpses of pain and powerlessness. "I need more strength! Much more than that bastard! "with a new motivation to break the old man, I slowly began to calm down. Ten minutes later, the fog cleared a little and some parts of the body became visible, but then I noticed "them". "How I've been waiting for them to appear! " I thought and slowly stroking the scars, but not easy, but made with the help of fire tools. They were much worse than from conventional tools and my skin was a little red there. I could only grit my teeth and sigh in frustration. "Everything will be ahead, don't worry," I encouraged myself and my mood improved a little because of the leadership. I shifted my angry gaze to this book to get a better look at it. My armor had already disappeared from the moment I stopped thinking about dismembering the old man's body.

Shaking my head, I went to the bed and sat down on it, but since this fog has not completely dissolved yet, my bed became a little harder, but this did not bother me, because I do not feel this cold at all. "Hmm, it's hard and almost does not bend," I thought and began to evaluate the appearance. It looked like a notebook and was very solid brown with engraved symbols *A Guide for Novice Magicians* and they were golden in color. "It smells like some kind of skin and with something else, but with what? I thought and frowned a little, but soon I forgot about the smell of the book and finally opened it.

( Author's note: about two days have passed since the escape of the main character and further events will take place during this period of time)

POV: Dr. Keely

"Two days have already passed since his disappearance, and they found only traces of the battle," I thought disappointedly and got up from my desk and went to the working part of the laboratory. "I have already informed His Majesty about this incident and he has sent his servants to investigate this matter," I thought as I walked quickly down the corridor. Five minutes later I was already in the working part where object 003 was stored.

- Good morning, Dr. Keely - a painfully familiar voice greeted me.

- It would be kind if there was object 003, but as you can see it's not here, I grumbled, but Reggie just shook his head and continued to write something down in his notebook.

- How are you feeling? - he asked and I answered.

"Fine," I said briefly and sighed. Reggie didn't say anything, didn't even turn around, but continued to write.

- Dr. Reggie, do you know what Object 003 is capable of? I asked, and he abruptly stopped writing, then turned to me and began to stare at me intently.

- No, but I would really like to know about the capabilities and weaknesses of the object, - he said and waited for my words. "Why should he know about the weaknesses of the object? I thought suspiciously, but still shaking my head, I started.

- Hmm, where would I start... As you know, the object has a universal class, but such a class is one of the rarest in the world! And such chimeras have a terrible feature - adaptability - I paused and waited for a pause, and then continued - Adaptability - the ability of a chimera to adapt to any conditions of combat, the dangers of the body, to acquire the necessary features that the body needs for survival - I finished.

"But that's not all, is it?" - he asked. I nodded and continued.

- But there are a number of disadvantages to this ability: the body constantly needs to be irritated to stimulate the adaptation process, and the more it is subjected to pressure, the faster adaptation will occur. Thus, if the pressure on the body is small, then, strictly speaking, the adaptation will work slower - I finished and waited for Reggie's reaction.

- I see, this is quite an interesting ability, but what do you want to tell me by this? - he asked, and I began to explain why.

- Now the object has escaped and is in an unknown direction and His Majesty has already sent his servants to search for traces left by him. His magical potential is at the level of a dragon, a human mind, since it was reborn, and the body of a chimera itself, which strengthens them - I finished and immediately heard what I was waiting for.

- What do you mean by that? Reggie asked.

- I wanted to say that the object will take only five years to catch up with you and me in strength and that there is much more mana in its core than in our cores at its strength level, - I said and it was like pouring a bucket of ice water on Reggie's head. His reaction was incomparable. His eyes widened and almost popped out of their sockets and his body shook slightly.

- Dr. Keely, what kind of monster have you created? N-it's impossible for someone to get to the second stage in FIVE years! Those who could do it are the summoned heroes and other magical chimeras," he said quickly, and I couldn't help but laugh.

- What are you laughing at! Is this very serious or are you crazy?! - he said angrily and I just answered him.

- Exactly! I'm crazy and that's why I'm going to finish the unsuccessful candidates," I said and pointed to two tanks covered with a thick black cloth.
