Chapter 91 - Líadan

Rom frowned at his own thoughts and couldn't help himself but wanting to know more about the woman they were looking for.

" Who is she?" he curiously asked looking between Haren and Dak that looked conflicted at his question.

" We only know her name!" Edýia stated in a serious tone of voice while giving Rom a shy smile.

Rom's eyebrows raised in question and kept silent waiting for Edýia to continue but after a few moments of silence, he realised that she wasn't planning to say more about it.

Rom took a deep breath in, thinking that they were more tight lipped than he was and by the looks of it, he will have to work hard if he wanted answers.

" What is her name? Maybe I have crossed paths with her and I will be able to tell you where you can find her!" he offered his help hoping that this will confirm his suspicions, that they were indeed looking for the Mytrhrian Queen.

"Líadan!" Dak was the one to answer the question, looking rather sullen.

" We have asked in this village and in other villages but no one has ever heard of that name!" Haren added his own thoughts with the same sullen expression.

Rom frowned, feeling a little frustrated at their answer, he reasoned that they will soon move on to another place and continue their search for the woman.

" Have you ever heard that name?" Dak curiously asked lifting his head to look at Rom.

Rom shook his head " What else do you know about her? Her appearance, hair or stature would help! he mumured staring at the plate in front of him, thinking of all the women he had met trying to place the name to a face but soon realised that it was a rather unusual name and it would be hard to forget.

Haren shook his head " No, that's all we know since the name was spoken by one of the creatures before I plunged my sword through its heart!" he explained gritting his teeth with a pained look on his face.

" How do you know it's a name? It could be anything!" Rom reasoned while himself pondered on the matter, since it didn't sound like the any language he had heard before.

" In Gaerwen there is a seer, that used to live in this land long ago! We consulted with him and he told us about a woman that used to live around here! He said that we should seek her and she will be able to help us!" Dak answered while getting up from his seat and started to clear the table, seeing that everyone had finished their meals.

" Hmmm....a seer, huh!" Rom echoed while getting up to help Dak clear the table while Edýia and Haren's eyes followed them around the room, waiting for Rom to say something more.

" I think you are going to fail in finding the woman since the name, it is an unusual name and I have not met a woman in these parts with that name! I think it holds a different meaning!" Rom explained while washing the bowls, making the others look rather surprised at his actions considering that the man had only entered the house only a few hours ago.

" What meaning?" Dak probed seeing that Rom took a different approach on the matter and he might be right.

Rom shrugged his shoulders, wiping his hands on a cloth " It could mean anything! It could be the name of a place or a feature that only that woman held!" he explained while padding across the floor to sit back down in his chair.

Edýia frowned, resting her chin on her knuckles " He might be right! We need to look at it from all sides!" she stated while looking at her brothers hoping that they would consider Rom's thoughts, thinking that the language wasn't anything like she had heard of and indeed it might hold a different meaning to it.

Dak and Haren gave each other knowing looks and nodded in agreement to something that they only knew about and turned their attention to Rom who looked at them confused, wondering what they were nodding at.

Dak clicked his tongue, taking a deep breath in " We think it is in ancient language, a language that hasn't been spoken in thousands of years! While we were asking the villagers about the woman, we heard of a children's story about a woman that lived in these parts that used to wield great power but she had vanished and no one knows what happened to her! I think you might be right and the name it's not a name after all!" he explained while his expression turned sour at the thought of his commarades that he had left behind to fight the deadly creatures, and here he was chasing a ghost.

Rom's lips pulled up in a satified smile, chuckling to himself that he was right after all and they indeed were looking for the Mytrhrian Queen and that was troublesome.

Rom's smile quickly fell turning into a frown " The Mytrhrian Queen! The story is about the Mytrhrian Queen!" he shed some light on the topic while his eyes fell Edýia who gasped and stared at Rom looking surprised that he knew who the woman in the story was.

" You know about her?" Edýia was quick to ask while she got up from her chair and moved closer to Rom who gave her a charming smile.

" I do know about her and it seems that our paths are crossing!" he smirked while he looked into Edýia's steel grey eyes that held a strong desire to know more about the woman that he was talking about.

Dak and Haren frowned, not understanding what Rom's words meant " Speak clearly!" Haren deadpanned looking a little confused and frustrated at Rom who spoke in riddles.

Rom chuckled at Haren reaction, rubbing the back of his neck " Uhm....you can stop looking for the woman! She lives in Fiahthyr forest which is a few days walking distance from here!" he informed them with a satisfied smile on his face that he could help but quickly turned into a frown when he felt himself knocked down to the floor with Edýia straddling him.

" Edýia!" both men called her while jumping from their seat looking outraged at her behaviour.

" This no way a young woman of your stature should behave!" Dak scolded his sister while moving from his spot, grabbing Edýia's arm and placing her back in her chair.

Edýia's cheeks turned bright red in a second when she realised what she was doing, bowing her head to Rom she turned around and quickly left the room without saying a word to any of the men in the room.

Rom himself blushed, feeling put on the spot by Edýia and felt giddy on the inside because because he got so close to her, while trying his best to keep a straight face and not show how he truly felt about the incident.

Haren didn't trouble himself to hide his displeasure at his sister's behaviour " She gets easily carried away and I apologise on her behalf!" he muttered under his breath while the lines on his forehead deepened and his bushy eyebrows touched each other
