Hearing Athan's footsteps nearing the cave entrance, Ian took his hand off Iris's breast and wrapped it around her waist pulling her in for savage kiss, while his other hand was reached out towards the cave entrance.
Athan cleared his throat seeing the two lost in their moment, causing Ian to pull away from the kiss and glare at Athan.
" I can't go any further!" he stated with a sheepish look on his face.
Ian let out a heavy sigh in annoyance, half-hearted he let go of Iris and made his way to the cave entrance taking the clothes from Athan and placing them over his shoulder, turning around he made his way back to where Iris was.
Wrapping his arm around her waist, they started walking towards the forest, looking over his shoulder " We will be back soon! Don't go anywhere!" he smirked at Athan, amused at his own joke making Iris frown.
Athan rolled his eyes and turned around making his way back to his spot on the ground sulking at his situation " Dammn it!" he mumbled to himself while glaring at the cave entrance.
The two made their way through the forest looking around to acquaint themselves to the new place that they found themselves in.
"We should find water and get ourselves cleaned" Iris suggested while looking ahead.
Ian nodded in agreement " I will lay some traps for the rabbits and pick some fruits while I walk around the forest. You should have some rest!" he added while looking at Iris who seemed bothered about something.
" I want to help, show me how you lay the traps, I only know how to hunt them and it will take a while to catch one!" she said while turning around to look at him with a pleading look on her face, wanting to make herself useful.
" Alright, I'll show how, just follow me!" he conceded while turning around making his way to a spot next some bushes that he saw.
Crouching on the ground, picking some branches with plenty of leaves on them he dug a hole in the ground, loosely placed some sticks on top of it, then sprinkled some dry leaves, he carried on making a roof over the hole with the branches he picked earlier, held by a stick in the middle.Looking around he saw the rabbits preferred food, he got up from his spot and plucked all of it, going back to his trap he handed some to Iris for her to use, placing some inside the trap.
Getting up to look at Iris, he saw that she looked somewhat troubled " Is this something that you find hard to do?" he asked while looking at her intently trying to figure out why was she troubled?
Iris finally looked up at him bursting into a fit of laughter " Does that ever work?" she jabbed him causing Ian to frown and sigh in annoyance which quickly disappeared when he realised that how much he had missed her smiles and laughter.
" I call it the lazy way!" he stated proudly while raising his head high.
" It works, you have seen it yourself !" he lightly chided while his lips curled up in a a wide grin.
Iris laughter slowly faded, being replaced by a sweet smile " Yes, you're right I have seen it work!" she agreed thinking that she should stop poking at him for the time being.
" I will go that way and lay some traps while I will see if I can find some water as well!" she voiced out her plans while pointing in the direction she intended to go.
Ian nodded " I will go the other way, two more traps each would be enough! he mumured while placing a kiss on Iris's forehead.
" Don't go too far! Stay close!" he nagged before turning around to leave.
Iris nodded and turned around to leave as well, taking on last look at his retreating back over her shoulder, seeing Ian did the same she gave him a sweet smile and turned to look ahead.
She looked around trying to find the best spots to lay the traps, she quickly layed the traps and carried on looking for water or a river.
Walking through the forest, her thoughts slowly drifted to her present situation, wondering how she could resolve the situation. Everything happened so fast that she didn't even have time to thoroughly think about it.
Now, Ian got dragged into it, frowning at the thought of the chaos she has brought into his life since she appeared, made the lines on her forehead deepen. Athan's situation quickly came into her view, feeling her frustration simmer she sighed heavily trying her best to put her thoughts to rest and focus on finding water. She kept on walking keeping a keen eye around the forest.
Halting her footsteps to take a better look, she saw a small glimmer shining through the thicket of the trees, spurring she made her way in that direction, pushing the branches out of her way, a pool with crystal clear water came into her view with a small river slowly filling it.
Her eyes widened " Ian!" she called out to him hoping that he could hear her.
" Shhh, you'll scare the rabbits!" he lightly chided from behind her making Iris jump.
Turning around to look at him " When did you get here?" she asked while intently looking at him
Moving closer to Iris, tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ear "I only laid one trap and followed you here!" he mumured in soft voice while looking into her emerald eyes.
Iris gave him a sweet smile while cupping his face with her hand gently carresing his cheek with her thumb " I missed you too!" she whispered while letting out a shaky sigh.
" Mhm.....!" hummed in agreement while looking into her eyes, he could see them glimmering and he saw the same troubled look that she had earlier when they were leaving.
