My brows slightly furrowed as I tilted my head at him, "Don't you think you're being too curious today?"
Reynald stared at me mysteriously. "So I was right?"
"That's the second question you posed to me since we entered this room." I said as I walked past him towards the couch. I took off my coat, tossed it to the side, and elegantly sat on the couch, facing him, crossed-legs.
Everything in me had no emotion, even my voice was too cold for him to hear, but I was sure he understood that I was in no mood to talk about something unimportant.
I grabbed the wine that was standing proudly on the table and poured some wine for ourselves.
"Drink." I ordered as I raised my glass in his direction.
Reynald came over and chugged everything from the glass I left untouched on the table. After that, he once again gave me that fucking inquisitive look.
"Don't you think you're getting annoying?" I said.
"I didn't say anything." He justified himself innocently. "You're guilty yourself."
"Huh! I can read through you. It's written all over your face."
"So you're not going to admit it?"
I raised a brow. "I have nothing to admit."
"Then give the necklace to me."
A cold chuckle left my lips. "Reynald, you're testing me, aren't you?"
"What if I am?"
"And what if I refused?"
Reynald and I met each other's gaze. Mine was cold and threatening. His gaze was curious and inquisitive.
This lad was too determined to get an answer from me. But even though he would die in curiosity, I would not spill anything that was running in my head. For me, that was a sign of weakness and I hated that.
Reynald moved his gaze away from me, but still stood his ground, "I won't force you to admit everything that I noticed, Storm. But I'm glad that she can affect you."
"What do you mean?"
He shook his head. "You're still a human. You need someone to stay by your side."
"Damn it!" I smashed the glass on the floor and glared at Reynald. "Will you stop or not? I'm not a human, I'm the Devil! Do you want to try how the devil gets mad?"
Reynald took a deep breath and said, "Ethan, you can scare others, but not me. I was just worried about you."
"Then save your worry for yourself." I yelled. "The Devil doesn't need it!"
Reynald smirked. "Yeah, your mind doesn't need it, but your heart needs it. It needs badly. Otherwise, you would not ask me to take off my clothes and cover it for her personally."
Hearing that, fueled my anger. I could feel the ruthless force surge through my body. My obsession to kill was stimulated.
I bent down and picked a shard of glass on the floor.
Only then I saw panic flashed in his eyes. "Storm, stop doing that! Release it!! That's no fun!!"
I chuckled eerily. "Now you're scared?"
"No, I'm fucking worried! You're at it again!"
I chuckled again. "Reynald, if you think you know me so well, then you're wrong. Do you really think I want to help that girl?"
"I don't care about her anymore. Now, let go of that!"
I ignored him and I stood up. With my eyes set on him, I gradually approached him. "Do you really think that girl can affect me?"
"I said let go of that!"
"Don't teach me what to do!!" I yelled back. I hated the fact that he was insisting that a woman could still influence me. Among things I didn't want to hear, that was the matter at heart.
As I stood before him, I suddenly unleashed a punch towards his face, but I stopped inches away from his eyes.
My entire body shook as I suppressed the boiling killing desire within me. I clenched that shard on my palm, had it stuck deeper on my palm and made it bleed. Only through this way I could get out from that obsession and get back to my frosty demeanor.
"Storm, enough." Reynald sounded like begging. As usual, he looked so worried rather than scared.
The response he received from me was a cold laughter.
"Do you really think I want to save her?" I said while laughing. "Didn't you want to save her? So I helped you do her a favor."
"Storm, let me treat your words." Reynald tried to reach out for my hand but I swung it away. He completely ignored my words and I was glad he did. Because I didn't know what I would do next if he angered me again using the same damn issue.
"Stop being such a busybody." I instantly returned to my cold self and seriously cast my famous warning glare at him, something that was cold but sharp and threatening. "Go and inform a few others to set off by dawn. We will go to Snake Island separately."
There was a dead silence. Reynald was still staring at my hand. He was not paying attention to my order.
"Go!" I impatiently said.
Reynald jolted lightly from being absent-minded and let out a sigh, "If you need help, let me know. But Storm, you should stop hurting yourself."
I chuckled coldly. "You're thinking too much."
"I hope so." Reynald left my room reluctantly.
"You are." I mumbled to myself once he left and I opened my palm. There, I saw the shard turned to scarlet as my blood painted on it. I smirked. "This wound is just a tickle. Why bother treating it?"
