I stared into the dull, emotionless white eyes of the older man towering over me. Being the oldest in a group of children, I was used to looking down at people. This was a moment when I felt that he looked down on me not only for my size but as a person. The silver strands fell just above his eyelashes as he tilted his head down.
"LO will be leaving for her mission in a few months. Chances are low that she will survive, so I want you to spar with her day and night. She will need to grow stronger. Otherwise, her death will be in vain." Kaiza turned to leave the door before he paused at the doorway. He shifted his head towards me and said, "Also, the day before she heads out, I want you to take her for a meal at one of the restaurants. A last meal, I suppose."
I felt my heart drop in my chest. It was like I could hear the hard THUD noise. It could have also been the door closing behind Kaiza.
