Dahlia leaned her head on her hand, "I don't know what the hell kind of curse you think I have, but I want no part of your scheme."
"You don't have a choice," I said.
"I never do." She rolled her eyes and then sat up. "Alright, I'll listen, but then I want you to leave."
I sat on the bed in dark sheets next to Dahlia and told her about the curse.
"The curse was a punishment for the scammers who caused the downfall of four villages. If we don't break it, it will continue for the next generations."
She looked around, "What generation? I don't have a husband or children. If it's not happening to me or the people I love, I don't care."
"You know it doesn't matter if our bloodline continues or not. It will pass to the person who has the elemental gift."
She shrugged, "Doesn't matter to me."
I stood and walked to her, "It does to me."
