"If you don't mind me asking, how did you end up working for the queen?" I asked Mansi.
We sat on the white blanket, already stained with green stains from the grass. Mansi ate the sandwiches, and I ate the fruits we snuck from the kitchen. Mansi lay back with her elbow to hold her head up while I sat cross-legged next to her.
"It's not that interesting of a story. I lived in a quiet village on the Other Side. My mom and dad worked on the far, and I helped them until I grew old enough to leave. I wanted a change in scenery. I heard the Earth queen was handing out jobs like it was nothing. I don't remember too much when I first arrived. I do remember thinking that the village was just as quiet as the one I lived in, if not more. She gave me a choice, though. Stay and live in peace, or leave and spy on other kingdoms for her. I felt like that was the only time I had ever felt like I really had a choice, so I chose what would help her the most."
