I looked to the sky, a once dark moonlit sky now a ceiling covered in intricate carvings of the ocean waves. I looked to my left, a wall of white ruffles from the bassinet my mother had obsessed with. She cooed at me when I looked up at her with my hands raised. She was a good mother to me. My father, at the time, was overprotective but loving. The day my father's hair turned grey, mine had a blue tinge to the ends that had reached just above my shoulders. The next day, I cut my hair until there was nothing more than the blonde I had inherited from my mother. The same color my father had in my past life.
I couldn't help but chuckle at the memories of my past mother scolding me for bleaching my hair to look like my father's bleached blonde hair.
I lost a part of myself when I had reincarnated into a character from a video game. I lost everything I had ever known: my family, friends, the girl I loved for years.
