I rested my head against the carriage door as I watched the trees pass. In front of me was Maven reading on Karmon's shoulder as they read through my mother's book. I listened to the stomping of Alastair's horse's hooves stomping on the ground next to me as he tilted his head up every so often. I looked up at his shadow figure blocking the sunlight and asked if everything was alright.
"Seems like there's going to be a storm tonight. Strong winds are heading in our direction. We need to find cover for the meantime." Alastair explained.
"Can't you use your magic to change their direction or something?" Maven asked.
Ever since our journey, he had become more confident around the king and started speaking more freely. He even stopped referring to Alastair as "Your Highness."
