When we arrived at the castle, Leo sat on the stairs in the Great Hall, waiting for our arrival. In her lap was a stack of books of all kinds, thick, thin, wide, and small. She stood when we walked into the castle and handed me the stack.
"I think you should read these." Is all she said before she walked up the staircase.
I looked at the first book, which had a brown leather cover bound with straw-like string. My fingers felt a crinkled piece of paper at the bottom that felt like it would disintegrate if touched wrong.
"She's read that library since the day I got those books. I never understood her fascination with them, but maybe you might find something." Alastair said.
"These books…"
We walked to his study and talked. I took care not to move the books around as much.
