After Riveria had led Remia to an empty room to get some needed rest with her daughter, she came to the living room to hear Ryutarou asking a question he had been dying to ask.
She took this long because she loved seeing Myu sleep and through her expression as well as the way Myu talked about Riveria apart the other girls, Remia started a conversation with a,
"Thank you for rescuing Myu, even if it makes me sound like a broken record I will say it again",
before shifting it to her life before and after Ken's party. Which soon shifted to how cute Myu was and other stuff.
Since she had missed the discussion about the issues regarding the artifact of which she doubted she could be of any help she sat at her previous seat and just listened.
"I've been dying to ask about the 'Overkill' is it? Is it a robot or prototype Mecha!? And it's appearance from the thin air was badass"
"Hm? Mech? Heh, It looks like you have to watch him, Suzu. From the way he said Mecha, size really matters to him"
"W-what!" shouted Suzu before looking at her bust and then confronted Ryutarou.
"Is it true?... Is what Kenshiro said true? Do you like them big or small?!"
"Eh? what's going on?"
A surprised Ryutarou could not fathom how a curious question about Ken's interesting creation became an interrogation from his girlfriend about size.
After a while of observing Suzu being conscious of her bust for the first time them being together, he put two and two and figured what the true question was about before answering what any man avoiding trouble would say.
But fortune was against him when Suzu took his brief silence and catching up as doubts and hesitation, and the living room was soon filled with noise from their couple quarrel.
Ken loving the dramatic atmosphere kept fanning the flames by taking both sides when the other is correct. This ended when his women started were giving him stern looks meaning the fun was over as he started to meditate before answering Ryutarou's question.
"The Overkill is the collective name for my armour golem set. The Overkill Guardian, the Overkill Knights and the Overkill Titan which is still in works but I doubt if it will see the light of day when it's more of an eye-gasm than a combat unit for me.
These guys unintentionally came up with the name because I went overboard when giving it abilities.
Technically, It will be a robot or a mech if it had complex interior components and was made part with technology. This is golem because there's basically nothing inside except it's core which allows me to control it. I don't really know about Hagime's creation but mine is fully golem
I'm also designing a unit inspired by the advantages of the animal kingdom on Earth but I haven't had time to focus in it since it requires [Precise Transmutation] or [Precise Alchemy] in my case, a skill that I rarely use unlike Hagime."
"Hagime? You have a robot, golem or whatever you call it?" said Nagayama.
"Yes, I do. My current golems Ornis and Arachnae are not robots. I didn't do anything cool like Ken's except their Earth animal features"
"Speaking of cool. Ken, that Shadow something you guys were saying was how the golem appeared instantly, right?" Suzu shifted her attention back to Ken and asked.
"Shadow Subspace. A theoretical idea we worked on after finding out from Yue and Tio about there being no Shadow magic here."
"Shadow magic...?" Kouki raised a brow in confusion.
"A magic that mostly enables one to travel through any shadow to another and in some cool cases control another's shadow or create shadow clone jutsu. It's one of those things only geeks will know since it's one of the most OP and rare abilities in fictional works" Hagime said in a geekful way which made Koari smile seeing he was still the guy who loved fiction.
"When Master brought it up I was thinking, who could possibly wield such convenience. I mean there's so much one could do with it, it's insane!! "
"...Nn. I was surprised how flexible and ingenious the thought process your world's people are"
"So how did you create this Shadow Subspace thingy if it was something this world hadn't seen or heard of?."
Shizuku asked Ken after Tio and Yue voiced their thoughts.
"Well, you all know about Affinities and Jobs from the crash course the Kingdom gave us, right?. I call them stupid limitations since the only limitations of magic I can deduce from any piece of media is Cogitation and Talent or in some cases bloodlines which make perfect sense since it can also apply to normal life on Earth.
Anyone should be able to use any magic as long as they put in effort or have the right tools unless the magic system in place is underdeveloped. There's nothing like you're a doctor so you can't be a farmer, it's nonsense.
But because of this shitty limitations I can't use magic beyond my skill set. I can cast some variables through imagination by compounding the skills I have. It's because of my darlings Yue and Tio that I was able to do it.
Since there's was no Shadow magic, we had to bring it into being little by little, by compounding existing ones through various try and errors.
Thanks to Yue's [Imaginative Spell Creation] and [All Element affinity], we were able to come up with Shadow Subspace– a Space+ Dark magic. It allowed my golems to hide in anyplace that has not the touch of light"
"If you've successfully made the Shadow magic you were saying, then why didn't your... golem come here through your shadow. or just move away by traveling through them"
Nagayama, Ryutarou and Suzu nodded in agreement to Shizuku's question.
"What we created wasn't real Shadow magic, most of the spell's foundation is Spatial Magic. It's a subspace, it doesn't connect two points but that's our next step– a Shadow Corridor or something. The idea is to create a Spatial corridor between one subspace to another to imitate Shadow travel.
As for Overkill, it was created before we acquired Spirit and Metamorphosis Magic meaning it couldn't do complex stuff like how these Ancient Magics would enable them to without direct control.
I created two prototype with the Shadow Subspace magic and hid them each in Remia and Myu's shadows, if one was destroyed the other was to hide them until the enemy cannot be sense and with my skills there's practically no one who can escape my detection when I'm focused. I just didn't have the right tools to create something complicated."
"Then--"
"Okay~ Let's end it here, we've spent the whole day talking the Golden Door Knob and my golem. Anything more would be telling some secret stuff. Rest and prepare well we'll be leaving in two days"
Ken had to interrupt Kouki who intended to use the established atmosphere to ask Ken about that secret ability that puts him above Hagime when they are the same species after the abyss, because his solar wrist watch was telling him it was sunset.
If they were outside in the yard the weird sun-looking light above would have showed the same by dimming.
That being said everyone went to rest after eating dinner and bathing for that day had been a long one.
