*ZANE POV*
Azusa was sitting in the corner of the cage, mumbling. She was pale and her eye color kept shifting between gray and purple. She was trembling and her breath was ragged.
"Azu, what's wrong- "
THADUMP!
My head started throbbing. I held the side of my head with my hand.
"It's fine. It's not fine. It's ok!" Azusa yelled.
Elias, Blaze and Kate were standing behind the fence near our cage. They had worried looks on their faces.
"What's wrong with Azu?" Blaze asked.
"She looks scared!" Answered Kate.
Elias stood in the back watching with a confused look on his face. I looked at him and glared through my throbbing headache.
I started to walk towards Azusa. I started to hear laughter. It sounded like demons shrieking. It echoed in the cage. I stopped and took a good look at Azusa. There was gray transparent smoke around her. Is this what she meant by 'possessed?'
"Why?" Tears spilled from her eyes. "It's fine. Please leave me alone. I can't do it. It's ok. Please, help me."
I reached out to touch her shoulder, but before I could do anything, she swatted my hand away and jumped to the ceiling of the cage. She pushed off the ceiling and tackled me. She sat on top of me and growled. She'd completely gone feral.
She pierced her claws into my shoulders, I winced. I reached for her hand and peeled her claws out of my shoulder. She pulled her claws away and growled in my face.
WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!
An alarm went off. Half-Breed detectives were walking towards our cage. When they were right in front of our cage, Azusa snapped back to reality. She realized she was sitting on me. She squealed and scooched away from me. I sat up and healed myself from the wounds.
The cage popped open and the chef detective held a badge out.
"I am Chief Henry Garrison. Azusa Feraful, you are temporarily under arrest."
Azusa stared at Chief Garrison. She had a nervous look on her face. I jolted in Elias's direction. He had a relieved smirk on his face.
A police officer grabbed Azusa by the arms and dragged her near a vehicle.
"Wait, please! This is a mistake! I was being possessed!" She yelled.
"Yeah. That's what they all say."
I ran to the vehicle they were bringing Azusa to. There opened the door slightly before I slammed it back closed.
"Let her go." I glared.
"Sorry kid. It's only temporary. We're just going to ask her questions about Vylerone."
Azusa froze yet again. Did she know about this 'Vylerone?'
"Who's Vylerone? What does Azu have to do with it?" I asked.
"Well, we think she's related or being controlled by him. Considering the way she was acting, it's an eighty percent chance for either one. Young Half-Breeds go through a small frenzy during the Eclipse, they don't go insane."
I looked at Azusa. She avoided eye contact with me. When she looked up, just for a second, I saw a purple flash in her gray eyes. Then she looked away again.
I growled. "Then I'll go with you."
"...Whatever you say, kid."
I followed them into the car and sat in the back with Azusa. Kate, Elias and Blaze went home for the day.
When we'd arrived, they shoved Azusa, a few officers and myself into a white room.
I sat at Azusa's side. She fidgeted with her fingers.
"Do you know who Vylerone is?" Chief Garrison asked
I saw her mouth move, but I couldn't hear anything. Garrison seemed to understand, so why couldn't I? Were my ears not working? Was someone shutting down my hearing? I can hear anything and everything. It's impossible for me NOT to hear anything.
"What is your relationship with him?
Again, I couldn't hear.
"Do you know what he wants with you?"
Still nothing.
"Lastly, do you know anyone who works for him beside yourself?"
Suddenly, I could hear her words.
"Elias Novata."
I widened my eyes. How could Elias, our friend, work with this Vylerone person?
"Elias? As in our friend, Elias?" I questioned my sanity.
Azusa gave me a cold look. "Yes. Elias, our friend."
When she said 'friend,' her voice suddenly doubled. There was another voice behind hers.
"And I think he'll be very useful in the future."
The officers aimed their guns at Azusa. She smirked. Her pupils were purple. Just like the flash I saw earlier.
Azusa jolted in front of me while I tried standing up.
"Stay in your chair," The voices said together. "Unless you want your head blown off."
I stood up straight. I was taller then her by four inches but she still sent goosebumps along my skin.
"Why would you ever do such a thing?" I asked. "Your such a softie."
She glared at me, but I had a feeling it wasn't exactly her.
"Funny thing is I would." It was just her voice this time.
Her pupils went back to normal. SHE was back to 'normal.'
After the event with the Eclipse and officers. We were allowed home. I opened my bedroom door and Cheerio welcomed me in. I loved that dog. I looked at my tail then brushed my fingers in the fur.
Sometimes I wondered if I was meant to live a sad life. After all, I've died so many times that I've lost count.
