Meanwhile back at the mansion
Two days after the welcome party and the night after Pollux escaped.
Mr. Sancet sat at his office table and looked on coldly at the man who was giving a report opposite him.
'So the next batch of slaves would be coming next week'.
The guard reported, if you looked at his hands behind his back you would see that it was trembling.
Whether it was because he was afraid of the man in front of him or because of something else no one knew.
Mr. Sancet finally spoke after the guard had finished his report.
His voice as cold as the depths of the sea, lacking no emotion whatsoever.
In front of him it always felt like you were drowning, the type that you try your best to keep afloat but you still find yourself sinking hard.
And the more you sink the faster you drown, even though he had been working for this man for years he still felt this way anytime he was speaking to this his boss.
'If that was all you came to report then why are you shaking so much'.
Richard instantly paled, the sun was up but somehow it felt like the room just got colder.
'...he'.
Just when he thought it was over, he heard the voice again, this time more colder which somehow shouldn't be possible.
'You know I hate it when people waste my time, that is one of the reasons why you are with me currently. You always go straight to the point'.
'But if you're going to be wasting my time, then maybe I should deal with you'.
At this point Richard was sweating already because he knew Mr. Sancet was not joking.
To him everything was always business, and once you have lost your value to him, you would find yourself dead.
He also knew that if he wasted any more time, he would really be dead so he quickly regained himself and said everything that was on his mind.
After some moments, Mr. Sancet replied
'So that boy escaped'.
'Find out who was supposed to be watching him that night and dispose of them'.
'Check the route he took and reinforce security, I don't want more of this happening, and when you find him, kill him'.
After that, Richard took his leave and when Sancet was alone, he started pondering by himself.
Of course he remembered the little boy, although remembered isn't really right to say.
He just remembered the incident of the boy refusing one of his greatest client and that caused him to lose a lot of face, he didn't even remember his name.
And it also seemed like the boy wasn't good at working, now's the perfect time to get rid of him.
At the same time, news of a little boy escaping from the mansion was also going round, so the guards had to go round and prevent any chance of another slave escaping.
Most of the guards believed someone helped him escaped because he looked too small to do anything by himself, while Sancet thought one or more of his guards were on it.
So there were a lot of deaths during that period, starting with the guards who were on prison duty that night.
And Sancet also used the opportunity to get rid of some of the spies he had in his organization.
When news of this got to Claire 'the young madam', she narrowed her eyes as she had a bad feeling about this one.
But very soon she threw it at the back of her mind because, she didn't think there was much a little boy could do against her dad.
And no matter how dangerous he gets she still had a secret card she hasn't revealed to anyone, not even her father.
Little did see know just how much that feeling she had was going to help her some few years later.
