I stand there, petrified to find out what the scale means. My throat feels hoarse, and my head hurts. Standing between these two men, and the scales that hold my fate, is all a little overwhelming. As the scales click right, I look up at the headmaster, waiting for him to speak about what it means. But at the same time, the acceptance letter glows brighter... Then the word provisional disappears. In almost the blink of an eye, the letter stops glowing and drops into my hand. I look up from it to see both the professor and the headmaster standing before me, both with smiles on their faces. Does this mean what I think it means?
