"Why do you know her?" I get really excited. Maybe Amelia can tell me where I can find her so I can thank her for her help earlier, even though she could've done more. "Do I know her?! Everyone does! She is the smartest female inside this academy, and is born from a high class bloodline. I mean her magical skills are off the charts, and she even has hidden talents that even the teachers and her parents don't know about. Do I know her?" She gets quiet, but uses a small piece of paper to fan herself off. I sit back and wait for her to say anything more, but alas she stays silent. Almost like she is shocked to death.
"What is this 'Will Investment? Is it some kind of club?" Amelia scrambles next to me, and takes my hands in hers. "Only the most amazing group there is. It's full of extraordinary wizards and witches that have the most amazing talents and magical abilities! You can either be a part of it if you stand out with your magical power. Or if you come from a very prestigious family with a well-known name." I can see all of the excitement light up her face in many different ways. But I can also see a longing there. As if she was almost there, but didn't quite make it. Does she have a special talent but it wasn't enough? Just what is the story behind that sad look I see behind her eyes?
"Jin is a rare witch. Only 1-100 comes around that are like her. She stands out more than the others do. She casts spells through songs! Like it floats in front of her as music notes on a sheet but in midair." Wow, Jin sounds so impressive. Amelia continues on with descriptions of songcasting. Sitting here listening to Amelia makes me envious of Jin. I am just a simple person with barely any kind of magical skills. All I can do is talk to animals. But that's nowhere near as important or an amazing skill as making spells out of songs.
"But that makes me wonder, how do you know Jin?" Amelia asks as she lays down on her side and pulls her pillow underneath her head.
"Oh well, she's the one that led me here. But we went separate ways after I made it to the main entrance of the building. She said she lives in a different place or something like that." I decide to lay down like Amelia, just so it's not weird that I'm the only one sitting up.
"Yes. People in the Will Investments group live in different dorms. But that's not even the best part about this academy. Every so often we all get to have a couple days where we get to go into town and shop." Her cheeks blush and I can see how giddy it makes her.
"Oh that reminds me, I met someone in the town. A handsome stranger with red hair. He was a pure gentleman, and he made my face hot." I feel my cheeks flush again just at the thought of this. Amelia sits up a little bit and looks at me with more curiosity. "Wait, could this be? Was this love at first sight Freya? Could he be your one true love?!?" I let out a choke as her accusation makes my heart skip a beat.
"What? Love at first sight? No, not even a chance. He was just a handsome stranger who helped me. That's all." I try to look in all different directions to keep my eyes from being locked with Amelia's. I know that if I look at her, my face will light up like a cherry or a tomato. But then I remember a question I wanted to ask her, changing the subject entirely.
"By the way, is there a student that goes here with silver hair and crimson eyes?" I sit up, making the conversation more serious, while avoiding talking about Victor. I only just met him after all.
"No, not that I know of. Anyone who looks like that, I should know. But then again this school is really big and I don't know every student. Maybe there are new students here too."
I sigh deeply. "He didn't have a uniform, and I even tried to see if he was a student. But he almost seemed confused or maybe even puzzled that I would ask him something like that. He also seemed like he didn't like being here. I don't know, I'm just curious." Amelia smiles at me and reminds me to not worry too much. I do have all year long to find out.
"Well," Amelia says with a yawn. "We should be getting to bed. We have classes early tomorrow and we can't afford to be late." I agree and stand up to change my clothes. As I take off my jacket and clothes, I feel the flower I found inside my pocket.
"Oh, I found this flower after the guy with the silver hair disappeared. I have no idea what kind of flower it is." Amelia gasped and practically ripped it out of my hands to look it over before giving it back.
"I have never seen something so beautiful like this. What're you going to do with it?"
I pause for a moment, then look at the flower. "I will probably dry it out and maybe frame it? It would be really pretty to keep on me at all times. Or at least in our room." I place the flower on my desk as I finish changing my clothes. Amelia digs around in her drawers till she pulls out a glass case almost as thin as a bookmark with a red ribbon on the top.
"When you dry it out, go ahead and put it in here. Don't worry you can keep it. I've got plenty of these cases. Think of it as a welcome present." I give her a huge hug immediately, then put the glass case on my desk. I could use this to make it a charm. After turning off the lights, we both climb into bed and drift off to sleep in utter silence.
