"Go together you two," the headmaster finally says. "If you don't take her with you, I'm afraid she'll go on her own." Victor rubs his forehead, then nods at the headmaster in agreement. I can't help but smile a little. I don't have to plead my case anymore at least. We bid the headmaster goodbye, then begin on our way.
Victor is quiet for the first part of our journey, obviously trying to feel the aura of the forest around us. His face is so serious, but also calm. How can he be so calm? "This is bad. The dark magic contamination is getting stronger." He covers his mouth with his arm.
"The air seems really thin. Most of the plants are withered so that may be why." Thank goodness for my lesson in collecting herbs, I know how a dead plant can affect the others around it.
