"This… this is the real power of the Goddess of Death. I can't believe that I'm seeing it in person, but it is truly magnificent." Some people said in shock as they simply couldn't believe what they were seeing. It was as if time stopped for a few seconds and when it finally came back, they simply saw every Dragon that had surrounded her simply turned into a bloody mist. The only one standing left was their Goddess.
But even though she just killed hundreds of them, hundreds of them came back again and this time, they were now even more worried about her. No one was helping her because she specifically asked them not to help her and instead, put all of their powers and resources into making sure that all people were safe and had been evacuated.
"This Gate… it's different. Is it a Raid Gate?" Mio suspected that something was different from the Gate because there was simply too much Beast that was escaping from the inside, even though she had already killed thousands of them at this point, she felt that it wasn't going to stop anytime soon.
The number had already even exceeded the amount that the first ever Gate of Abomination had released which brought a huge shock to Mio but also to the rest of the world, the fight had already lasted for more than an hour and yet it wasn't still ending.
If things kept going this way, Mio would surely lose because she could already feel her powers slowly draining away, that was just her Mana she was not even counting her physical powers as she felt her body getting exhausted as the second passed. Adding the fact that she was injured all over her body, only made the toll on her even worse. The worst fact is that they were still not done evacuating the residents of the area as there were simply too many people and she wasn't able to kill everything which led to some Dragons escaping, she could only hope that they could take care of it without causing casualties.
"Don't tell me this is a…" Just as Mio was about to finish her words she felt a huge presence loom over behind her but before she could create a Magic Barrier to protect herself, she was met with a giant claw of the Dragon that she took directly without any Magic stopping it.
"No! Goddess!" Everyone screamed when they saw how Mio took the attack but as soon as the smoke began to fade away, they could finally see the state of their Goddess. But it didn't help at all as what they saw only made them shiver in fear and sadness after seeing her current state.
"You fucker… you actually managed to sneak up on me." Mio finally had enough as her Mask was getting in the way she threw it to the side but she still kept her face hidden with Magic.
She barely survived that attack, if her reflexes were any slower her body would be torn to pieces by it, but because she countered with her Scythe she managed to survive, but she had to sacrifice her right arm for it. Now it remained useless as the bones and flesh were all broken beyond belief, but even with a broken arm, she used that arm to cut the Dragon's head off.
"This is a fucking Raid Boss Gate… things are just getting worse by the second now." Mio cursed as she looked at the Gate which just kept spewing out massive amounts of Dragons every second and from the looks of it it was not stopping any time soon.
When everyone heard her words, they all shivered in fear because a Raid Boss Gate could only mean one thing. It is not going to stop until the Raid Boss is dead but because this was a Gate of Abomination the Beast has already gained some knowledge so there was no possible way that it was going to come out.
Even the Heroes who were sent out felt despair because this just made their situation a hundred times worse as they would actually need to go inside the Gate to work together and kill the Raid Boss. But killing a S Rank Raid Boss is already a hard task itself but it was a Gate of Abomination, and going inside basically means suicide.
The only people who can survive and have a real chance of winning against Raid Boss Gate is for all the people to work together and defeat it but in their current position, they can't do it as they still need more time to evacuate everyone.
"Solar! Call back everyone and help me here! Distract all the Beast while I set up a Magic Circle. As for the rest, just try to buy as much time as possible, and please do not let any civilians die." Mio said as now she was forced into using a Magic Circle that she thought she wouldn't use again, but she had to if she wanted to defeat this Raid Boss Gate and save everyone.
No one wasted a single second as all of them retreated and headed towards where Mio was while leaving their most entrusted people to do the evacuating. When they arrived they finally saw the current situation and it was like a hard pill to swallow, even though were also listening to the live broadcast, they just couldn't believe it. But seeing it in person really dropped their morals down.
"Now is not the time to be depressed, buy me some time. I need at least 5 minutes to finish my Magic Circle. Don't let anything get close." Mio said as she looked at Solar when she heard this she had a bad premonition of what was going to happen and when it finally clicked on her she wanted nothing but to stop Mio.
"Don't you dare do it! I know what you are about to do and stop right now! Surely there must be other ways, right? Why do you want to use that again, do you want to really die this time? You even promised me that you won't use it ever again." Solar pleaded loudly but before she could get close to Mio, she was stopped by Saito who held her.
"I did promise you that, but the only thing that I promise is that I won't use it ever again not unless I have to. But this time, I have to. I'm sorry Solar, but I don't want history to repeat itself. I don't want anyone dying anymore, I have regretted it before, but right now I won't let things go their way." Mio calmly said as she finally finished drawing the Magic Circle in the air and without saying anything, she stabbed herself with her Scythe and poured her blood inside of the Magic Circle to use as a battery.
"She…. is the Goddess using her Blood Essence to power the Magic Circle?" When everyone saw what their Goddess was finally doing they couldn't help but cry in despair as she was doing too much for them.
Sacrificing a single drop of Blood Essence was already hard enough for any Human, but their Goddess used more than a liter of Blood Essence just to power her Magic Circle, and because of this they finally understood why Solar was so reluctant of her use it because she could really lose her life.
