"Is… is that words from my Master? Did she tell you that?" For that reason, Mio couldn't help but ask Somi if those words came from her Mother and not from her, because she thinks that any kind of person who truly hasn't experienced what this world has to offer, wouldn't be able to make such a heavy but true statement that easily.
"No… I just thought about that. I read a lot of books and from what I read, I know that my words are true. I actually have a lot of thoughts about life, from the moment that I began reading my Mother's books, I began to have this different thought. It's like my worldview begins to change as I read further, but in a good way though. But of course, my Mother hates that idea, she'll always say that she would hate for any of her kids to grow up to be like her, it was the last thing that she ever wanted to happen." Somi explained lightly.
When Mio heard her, she immediately understood why her Master didn't want any one of her children to grow up to be like her, because being in the same generation as Yuki, she knew what she was like. To say that she wasn't also terrified of her at that time was an understatement, if the Government and the Worst of the people even feared her, how was she an ordinary person not afraid of her?
"Have you decided on your future yet? I know it might be a little too early for me to ask this, but you do know that once these three years are over, you will finally have full control over your powers and that you can finally embark on your journey to become a cultivator." Mio asked to break the tension around them as she felt that she was asking some unnecessary things and that Somi might get offended by it.
"Hmmm… actually no. I have not thought that far just yet. But I'm sure for one thing though, when I can finally have a grasp on my own powers, I will do the things that I ever wanted to do that I couldn't do now. Such as going outside without fear, eating dinner with everyone, all those nice things that I just dream about." When she was asked about that, a smile formed on Somi's face that made Mio smile too.
"You know, Lady Somi. You should smile more often, you look better when you smile, I know that you only act cold because of your condition, but I know that deep inside your heart you want to make friends like any other child." Mio placed one hand on Somi's head before patting it gently.
Somi who heard it couldn't help but freeze, but she knew what she was talking about. Because her Mommy has told her the same thing. Kurokami specifically told her that she should be nice to everyone she is going to meet in the Mortal Realm, and only be cold to those who are not kind to you.
"Yeah, Mommy said the same thing. But it's not that easy, I hope you can understand me." Somi said a little sadly as there was still that lingering fear in her knowing that people would immediately leave her side if they were to know what kind of powers she had. Just like what happened when she went out to her first party.
"I'm not forcing you, Lady Somi. We can take baby steps at this, I know the feeling of fear and despair, because I'm also well too familiar with it. But hey, what do you know, here I am still alive and even happy with my life." Mio gives her a warm smile.
"You can start with my students, you know? I mean, you are already pretty close with Xian'er from what I can see." Mio chuckled after remembering how Xian'er kept pestering Somi when they were eating their breakfast, meanwhile, she was just smiling all the time. But Mio saw that Somi went from being awkward and a little terrified of Xian'er to being slowly comfortable with her.
All it took was a little push and Somi would be able to go out of her shell and that is exactly what Xian'er did. Even though she herself found it quite annoying, she saw that as time passed, Somi was slowly opening up, which is why she didn't do anything. That scene surprised her because she didn't expect the shy and quite timid Xian'er to be actually so talkative.
But nonetheless, she was very thankful to her since she was the first person in the Mortal Realm who she truly saw as a friend, she was not going to count herself in it because she saw herself as more of a caretaker or even a big sister to Somi. But if she sees her as a friend, then she would be more than glad for it.
"Xian'er… that is the big sister who talks a lot, right?" Somi asked Mio if she remembered the right person because she met a lot of people that day, a lot of people who wanted to come close to her. She even felt some malicious intent when she was approached by others and from that she knows that they were only showing sincerity towards her because she was introduced as Mio's little sister.
If not for that, she would most likely get ignored by everyone. Though she didn't feel that malicious intent by Mio's students, she only felt their curiosity, so she was glad that Mio had no bad students. Most of the malicious stares that she got were from other Classes, as well as some other Teachers.
"Yep, that's the one. But I think she's going to cry if she hears that you don't remember her." Mio chuckled after hearing that Somi wasn't even sure if she remembered the correct person, she already began to imagine what Xian'er's reaction would be like if she heard those words come out of Somi's mouth.
"She's fine… yeah. She is quite fun to be around, even though she likes to talk a lot, when it comes to studying she is in complete focus. I like that about her."
"I see, that is good then. Continue what you are doing Lady Somi and you won't even realize that you already have tons of friends with whom you can talk. Wouldn't that be great then?" Mio smiled happily as she was glad that Somi thinks highly of Xian'er.
That only means that she was going on the right path of slowly opening her heart to everyone, even though she knows that Somi still doesn't trust her that much, she is okay with it. She only needs time and space for her to truly open herself and be like a normal little girl.
"Were here, Lady Somi." Mio found a parking spot before parking in there and once she was parked, she undid Somi's seatbelt before leaving the car to open Somi's door. When she opened it, she then carried Somi in her arms like it was a natural thing to do.
After that, she went towards the entrance to buy herself some tickets and when she finally got them she entered with a smile hanging on her face. She smiled after seeing Somi's face brighten with excitement after seeing the inside of the zoo.
