Upon such revelation, no one was able to say anything for a few minutes. Irene even seemed to be frozen in place as she was simply too shocked to hear that her idea was the one thing that made them lose two points, if not for her suggesting that idea they would have gotten the perfect score that she was dreaming of getting, but because of her proposal of adding another thing to their already perfect Magic Circle, it actually made it worse for them.
Because of this, she can't even look at her teammate's direction as she is just too ashamed of herself. They already had the perfect score, but she just had to add another detail to it which crumbled it all away.
"You don't have to be so hard on yourself. Just learn from this mistake and never do it again, it's that simple. Also… take this as a lesson to everyone. Before you get complicated with your work, you should learn the basics first and make a strong foundation of it before you can do something or add to your work. That way you are almost guaranteed not to fail." Seeing that Irene was down and blaming herself, she couldn't help but say something to encourage her a little.
Irene finally snapped out of her daze when she heard Mio's voice and she only looked at her once before thanking her and leaving the stage with a complicated look on her face. However that all soon changed when Lucy appeared right in front of her.
"Come on Irene! Don't get so sad. You already did so well, I heard from Xian'er that you were the one who had the basic concept of your Magic Circle, and isn't that already good enough? Because just like what Teacher Mio had said, this idea was actually already thought off but never surfaced because of its one mistake, doesn't that mean that you are on par with those geniuses who study Magic Theory all their life?" Even though Lucy was in a different group, she still came forward and tried her best to make her best friend feel better.
"Lucy is right. Irene. You don't have to be so hard on yourself, if not for you suggesting that idea, we will definitely get a lower score than that." Xian'er also approached Irene and said softly and because of all their support for her, Irene slowly calmed down, she couldn't still shake the feeling of being the reason for losing two points. But she no longer showed it to everyone, she just came back to her normal appearance of a cold beauty and when Lucy saw this, she sighed in relief since she knew that Irene was back to herself now.
"All right, our class is done now. Though I will leave some homework for all of you. But none of you have to worry, the deadline is next week at the start of my class, and I won't be accepting any work anymore if you are late. As for the homework, you will just need to create a research paper about the technology that you think has been the most impactful to our world. Now that is it… all of you are dismissed." Mio dismissed all of them before turning around and giving them their homework at least it was in Mio's eyes.
But every student felt like they were just given a project after hearing what Mio wanted them to make, even some teachers couldn't help but gasp when they heard that Mio was asking them to make a research paper in a week only. For some others, it seemed to be an impossible task as they would need to do a lot of research for this research paper, but for a person like Mio who is a peerless genius, it would only take at most a day for her if she really focused on it.
Even though some frowned at this homework and even began to complain in their hearts, not everyone thought that it was unfair for Mio to give them such a short amount of time. Those people are the ones who really wanted to prove themselves that they deserved to listen to her lessons, such as Irene whose determination could be seen in her eyes, and when Mio saw this, she just chuckled.
"Do you want to go home now Lady Somi, or do you want to look around at our world?" Mio asked as she gently carried Somi in her arms before slowly fixing her hair which got messed up a little.
When Somi heard Mio's suggestion, her eyes lit up behind those blindfolds and she got extremely excited at the thought of going outside and touring around the world where her Mother was born, but that isn't the real reason. The real reason for her wanting to tour around was that she wanted to look around as she was extremely curious about this place, and since she hadn't gone out for a few years already, her desire to go out was stronger.
"Can we really look around this place?" Somi asked in a somewhat expectant voice to which she didn't even know that she could make one, she didn't even realize that her tone was very cute right now, as if a child was pleading with an adult for some candy. When Mio heard it, she had the strong urge to pat her on the head but restrained herself and answered her with a gentle smile on her face.
"Yeah of course. If you even want we can explore this entire universe!" Mio chuckled lightly as she began walking out of the lecture hall since her job here already was done and since she had no more students to teach, she was planning to leave already, but before she could leave, she was stopped by the Teachers who were helping her manage the students.
"Oh yes, thank you for today also. If you for you helping me handle all of this students, I don't know what I will do." Mio thanked them as she then showed them a thankful smile.
"It's not a problem Teacher Mio, it's also an honor for us to help you since we are also learning a few things by listening through your lectures." A Teacher who teaches History couldn't help but point out and even thank Mio for letting them help her and other Teachers also agreed with her.
"But can I ask a favor from Teacher Mio?" Just as Mio was thinking that it was over, she was stopped again and this made her raise an eyebrow at this as she didn't think that her colleagues were already starting to ask her for a favor. But she kept her irritation inside her as she didn't want to look rude in front of them since she knew that it would only make things worse.
"I was just thinking… don't you think you gave the students too little time to make a research paper?" Her question made Mio look confused for a moment as she didn't expect that this was going to be their request from her, never would she think that this was going to be their request.
For her she felt that she had just given them enough time, she even thought that it was too long of a time, originally she wanted them to pass their work at the end of the week, but because she was already expecting some half-assed work from them, she extended it by two more days.
Her confusion was like a bomb to everyone because all of them could easily guess what she was thinking about, and they couldn't help but sigh with pity for their students as it seemed that their Teacher was going easy on them by just giving them a week to finish.
