Ciella and I stood within the Fragment Of Mount Olympus attached to the continent our people, the citizens of the Sky Gryphon Peristylium dwelt on.
"Ciella, even from here, we can still aid our people. You and I are going to have to activate the Sagittarius System which will allow us to act through Villagers of our choice" I explained. "First, let's access the Gemini System for a list of the Villagers currently dwelling within our Peristylium" I said and accessed the Gemini System.
It showed a list of Villagers.
"It seems the current chief is Bahn VIII" I noted.
"Are you going to choose him?" Ciella asked.
"Nope, our Villagers are currently undergoing a traumatic experience. I can't afford to do anything that would be interpreted as a hostile takeover. I need to choose someone a little further down the food chain. Yes, I've found someone. His name's Joseph. It says he's a Shepherd" I said.
"Why the choice?" Ciella asked.
"As a Shepherd, he's physically fit. I need someone through whom I can utilize the upper tier of my abilities without physically straining them plus it says here he's a positive person. That must mean he's also mentally fit. If I attempt to utilize some of my abilities through a weak minded person, it would destroy their minds" I explained.
"I've also found someone, a Weaver called Natalia. It says she's very skilful at Weaving. If we need to utilize the Aries and Virgo Systems again, she'll be very helpful" Ciella said.
"Okay, let's meet at Bahn VIII's residence with our Avatars" I said.
Within the Sky Gryphon Peristylium, a boy of about seventeen awakened from sleep. He was a Shepherd. It was a bright morning. He heard a knock at his door. He walked to his door and opened it.
"Today's rations. Try not to use it all up till Sunset. Food is scarce lately because of the Monsters' Siege. We'll be meeting later this afternoon to talk of strengthening the Village's Walls. See you later Joe" the stranger at the door said.
"See you later Sage" Joseph waved to the stranger at the door and accepted his rations.
"Time to freshen up, then I can eat something for breakfast" he said and walked to the bathroom to wash his face.
As he approached the Mirror however, he noticed something strange. The image in the Mirror where his reflection was supposed to be reflected the image of someone else.
"I didn't think things would be this bad. I can't believe our Peristylium has fallen so low they have to depend on rations. I'll be sure to teach that Weaver Of Calamity a lesson" the reflection said.
Joseph stared at the reflection with his mouth and eyes wide open.
"M-My reflection! It-It spoke! And it's not my reflection!" Joseph began to panic.
"Oh boy, I thought you might handle things a little more calmly" the reflection said with a smirk.
"Y-You're not a monster are you?" Joseph asked in fright.
"Does this handsome devil look like a monster to you? Fine then Joseph, why don't you guess who I am, you only get one try" the reflection said.
"Could you be…one of the Guardians?" Joseph suddenly seemed curious.
"Yes, you finally guessed it" I said.
"B-But that can't be. The Guardians are supposed to be a myth. There's just no way. Their feats are beyond the capabilities of mere mortals" Joseph suddenly seemed skeptical.
"Oh boy, I think I'm beginning to see how the Weaver Of Calamity enslaved this Peristylium" I said.
"The Weaver…Of Calamity?" Joseph asked.
"The mastermind behind the monsters that have enslaved your people" I explained.
"So you really are a Guardian aren't you?" Joseph asked.
"Yes, I am. I am currently inhabiting your body through an Ancient piece of Technology called the Stellar Systems" I explained.
"The Stellar Systems?" Joseph wondered.
"They are Twelve Systems named after Twelve Constellations that represent Twelve Ideals and Professions. They are the reason for this Peristylium's prosperity over Four Hundred Years ago" I explained.
"I don't get it. I'm just seventeen after all. Records from such a time would be kept by our chief Bahn VIII" Joseph explained.
"I know. I knew Bahn I. He was a close friend" I said.
"So you're like what…over Four Hundred Years Old?" Joseph asked with a skeptical laugh.
"No, technically, I'm just seventeen like you are. Time just flows a little differently for me" I explained.
"That's intense. Okay, so I'm guessing you need to see Chief Bahn VIII now?" Joseph asked.
"Yup, I need to see the Chief. Let's go now" I instructed.
