My Dad continued to teach us more.
"Today, I will be teaching you a bit about the second facet of our Family's Sigil, the Pyrostellis Luminares. To be specific, you'll be learning about the Luminares" my Dad said.
"That's your part of the Sigil" Saito noted.
My Dad nodded.
"Yes, it is. The name Luminares transliterates to 'Heavenly Lights' and thus connotes the nature of Immaterial Light" my Dad said.
Ciella paid close attention to what was being said.
"To understand this lesson, it is a prerequisite for you to understand Fenrir's lesson on Associations" my Dad said.
"We did learn about Associations from Fenrir" I noted.
"That's good. As I explained earlier, Material Light is the facet of Light that grants visibility over Physical Objects. Material Light typically has a linear and ordered nature allowing one to perceive objects with clearly defined physical traits. Immaterial Light on the other hand is a completely invisible spectrum of Light allowing one to perceive objects that are invisible or abstract. Unlike most Physical Objects, most Abstract Objects do not have clearly defined traits but can alter their form depending on the nature of the Observer" my Dad explained.
"How is that even possible?" Concordia wondered.
"The relationship between Material Light and any Physical Object primarily exists between the Spectra Of Light making contact with the body and the Body's Mass. On the other hand, the relationship that exists between Immaterial Light and an Abstract Object primarily exists between the Object's Soul and Spirit and the Wave Of Immaterial Light making contact with the Object. When dealing with Immaterial Light, it helps to think of things in this manner. If the Soul were a Key, the Wave Of Immaterial Light would be a Gateway. The number of Gates one can unlock depends on the number of Keys that they have and how accurately the Key matches the Gate" my Dad explained.
Our eyes widened in surprise.
"Whoa…that's really something" I was surprised myself.
"You could also think of the relationship between a person and Immaterial Light in this manner. Imagine there are two Storage Tanks, each about three hundred metres high. The first tank has a single compartment, the second tank on the other hand is divided into three compartments, each completely sealed off from the rest. Every hundred metres up the tanks, there is a single pipe connecting the first tank to a single compartment in the second tank so there are a total of three pipes. The first tank is now gradually filling up with Water. The goal is to fill all three compartments in the second tank however to do that, the Water must reach a total height of three hundred metres. As the Water level rises and reaches the first hundred metre threshold, it's now high enough to flow through the first pipe into the first compartment of the second tank. The Water must next reach a height of two hundred metres to be able to flow through the second pipe into the second compartment in the second tank and finally achieve a height of three hundred metres to reach the third. The first tank could be likened to an Observer. The Water in this tank could be likened to the experiences gradually accumulating within a person's Soul. The pipes then could be likened to a threshold of maturity which when achieved allows a person to perceive a particular facet of Immaterial Light and the second Tank is Immaterial Light itself" my Dad explained.
"I see, so it's kinda like acquiring a new skill after gaining a certain level of experience in an RPG huh?" Keiran realized.
"Exactly right" my Dad explained. "Obviously, no two tanks are exactly alike implying that the keys they have granting them access to Immaterial Light also slightly differ and so do the effects evoked upon each Tank by this Access" my Dad explained.
