We all walked into the Hall. There we encountered a lively forest surrounded by rivers, trees, streams and rocks. I smirked and looked around. Everyone was present.
"Figures we'd all walk into this place" I said.
"Water, Air, Earth and Fire are the most basic elements that sustain the world. Every person would have an affinity for at least one of the Four" Concordia said with a smirk.
In this place, we were met by my Aunt Ai who was also Mitsuki's Mom as well as Victoria, Concordia's Mom, my Mom, Aileen I, Arlene's Granny and Face, Concordia's Dad.
"You're all here? Shouldn't these things have an order?" I asked.
"Yes, they do however, you can see from this Field that some elements do not exist in isolation but interact with other elements. Earth is one of the most active elements and is known as the Main Receptacle Of Life in contrast to Light which is the Main Giver Of Life. The Earth receives Vital Warmth and Light from the Sun, the greatest source of energy in our Solar System. The received energy is channeled into other elements. Without the Sun, all Water would be frozen and Life could not take root on Earth. Without the Sun's Warmth, pressure on Earth would be tremendous and would crush every living thing as well since it's the Warmth Of The Sun that determines the Weight Of The Air.
When the Sun's Warmth is optimum, Seas and Rivers melt and Water Circulation begins. The Air is also made light and full of vitality as a result of Warmth. The Rivers, Air and Warmth cause fertility in the soil which allows Life to take root. It is also the Warmth Of The Sun that determines the value of the minerals in the Earth. The Warmth Of The Sun also heats the Earth's Core. The Warmth causes elements deep in the Earth to melt and circulate throughout the depths of the Earth in the form of Magma. In this form, the elements or minerals fuse and alloys are born out of very basic elements. The alloys can be extracted when cooled. This is the reason why the most precious minerals are found deeper within the Earth than less valuable minerals" Face explained.
"Whoa…I was unaware of that fact" I admitted with a smile.
Ciella turned to smile at me.
"Light is ultimately the Giver Of Life. Earth on the other hand is the ultimate Receptacle Of Life. As such, every living being on Earth possesses an affinity for Earth in one way or the other. If they are incapable of generating and moving the element itself, they possess an affinity for more advanced forms of Earth or one of the Four Basic Elements the Earth receives from the Sun" Face explained.
"I see, it's because Earth contains all the vital elements necessary for Life to thrive that it is known as the Element Of Hope right Dad?" Concordia asked.
"It's also why Earth Element Users are believed to possess the greatest amount of Physical Strength leaving Light Element Users aside" Face said with a smile.
"I see, so Life on Earth is basically regulated and sustained by these Four Basic Elements and their associated 'Climates'?" I asked.
"Exactly, when these Four are in Balance, Life on Earth thrives as a result of great fertility, which enhances cultivation as well as Trade and Craftsmanship born from harvesting precious minerals from the Earth. When they are out of Balance, Life diminishes, infertility sets in and the Climate becomes a hostile one. Desertification and Storms are just two instances of how bad things can get" Aileen I explained.
"In the worst case scenarios, there is rampant conflict as a result of competition for very scarce resources. In a sense Earth Element Users are responsible for counterbalancing and preventing these potential disasters" Face said.
"I see…so you're responsible for eliminating the risk of conflict over scarce resources by balancing the Four Basic Elements to enhance the fertility of the Earth?" I asked.
"However, that's only one part of what we do. You must be tired from your previous challenge. Rest for a bit and I'll explain more" Face said.
We nodded and explored the space around us.
