Concordia remained concealed amongst the piles of rock, covering her blindspots while observing all the other directions. As she observed the sky, she noticed the figure of what looked like an arrow flying over her. She narrowed her eyes and paid close attention.
"That's one of Mom's arrows. She appears to be controlling it remotely. That must mean she is close by. It looks like the arrow flew in from the North-East. Somewhere in that direction, Mom must be concealing herself. She must be close by to be able to coordinate that arrow" Concordia paid close attention.
As she watched, other arrows flew in from multiple directions.
"These arrows are Scout-Type Units. If they're flying in from multiple directions, then Mom must be attempting to conceal her position…however they predominantly appear to be coming in from the North-East. If they're Scout Types, then there must be some way for Mom to view her surroundings via her arrows" Concordia thought and observed closely while concealing herself within a rocky Porcupine Defense Mode.
The rocky nature of her arrows blended with her surroundings to camouflage her hiding place.
Meanwhile, to the North-West, Victoria, Concordia's Mom was well concealed. Her eyes were shut and she was scanning a vast area of the land via Scout Type Arrows. Concordia was right in recognizing the arrows as Scout Type Units however, her mother Victoria after sending in her Scout-Type Arrows from the North-East had simultaneously headed North-West to conceal her position in an attempt to lure Concordia out.
"So what will you do Concordia? Will you remain concealed…or pursue a false trail?" Victoria wondered.
She had not yet located Concordia.
"It's best I remain concealed for now. Mom is recognized by the Dream Knights as one of the strongest Archers in the Dream Knight Forces. I doubt she'd foolishly give away her position…so this trail of Scout-Type Arrows must probably…be bait" Concordia thought seriously as she recalled Keiran's lessons on the relation between person and affinity.
"However, regardless of how vast the applications of an elemental affinity are, each element has what you call 'Predominant Traits'. It is these traits that are factored into calculating which element exerts dominance over another. Because these traits are predominant, every user of a specific affinity has what we refer to as 'Tendencies' which describe how likely they are to pursue a particular course of action…Tendencies are what most traps revolve around and that's why most hunts if not every hunt requires some form of bait" Concordia recalled Keiran's lessons.
"I see…the fact that Mom's arrows are flying in from the North-East do not necessarily mean she is concealed somewhere in that direction plus her arrows are Scout-Types meaning…she has an overhead view of this location. If I give away my position to chase a trail that might be false, it might just create the opening Mom needs to commence her offensive. Once I lose the element of surprise, I'm most likely to be assaulted. If I hadn't spotted Mom's Scout Units in the first place, I wouldn't even have been able to prepare a counter strategy. So this is why the First Rule Of Archery is a Sensory Rule and the Second Rule has to do with the Archer's Position on the battlefield" Concordia realized.
Victoria smiled from her hiding place as she scanned the area.
"Good Job not giving away your position. On the battlefield, your life and the lives of your comrades may depend on such a decision" Victoria silently congratulated Concordia.
"So these Scout Type Arrows must be part of an Aerial Archery Sensory Formation of sorts and I'm now attempting to apply an Aerial Zone Control Technique. In battle, the Sensory Scout Formation could be part of an Infiltration Force. Any Archers in my party that fail to conceal their positions would cause data regarding our Defensive Formation to be leaked to the adversary's forces. This data would then be factored into an adversary's plan to breach our Defensive Formation" Concordia realized.
"An experienced adversary will attack Support Units first to cripple the Sentries who act as the Sensory Unit Of The Army as well as Coordinators and Healers responsible for the overall Survivability Of The Army. How well Sentry Units can conceal their positions as well as how quickly they can detect an adversary's infiltration force will to a large extent determine how much info an adversary gathers regarding your Defensive Formation and that of your allies. It will also determine how quickly the Army's Vulnerabilities are discovered" Victoria said from her concealed position.
