Chapter 14 - chapter 14

.

My hand reached for the phone under the pillow, looking for Liam's contact name, then called him and told him to come here to take me to my best friend's house. Liam received my call in a hoarse voice from having just woken up. I got straight to the point and asked him to come here as soon as possible.

At first, Liam didn't respond to my request. But I forced him to continue then gave a loud threat and he agreed. Arriving at Calissa's house, the atmosphere was so quiet. I say hello and knock on the door. Mama Calissa opened the door and ushered us into Calissa's room.

"Calissa... Calissa... What are you doing?"

Slowly I opened the bedroom door. I found him pale-faced, wrapped in a blanket. Her eyes were slightly swollen as if she had been crying.

"I'm fine. Don't worry."

"You're not doing well right now." I gripped his warm fingers tightly. Why was Calissa crying? Maybe she had a problem?

"Just a little fever. You must have come here with Liam."

"Yeah, I came with Liam." I nodded when my guess was correct.

"I wanted to talk a little bit." I continued not knowing where to start.

"I know all that happened yesterday in the cafeteria. Congratulations on winning her heart." Calissa showed a languid face. I jumped in surprise how could he guess my thoughts?

How does Calissa know, even though she was absent yesterday? Did the gossip spread so fast?

I think fast. So much incongruity that I couldn't understand his way of thinking. Yesterday was fine, did not show any pain, his body was fresh and fit.

Could he be jealous? Can't accept yesterday's reality? Why is Calissa crying? Calissa couldn't possibly cry over such a trivial matter. I know she likes Liam, but there's no way she's crying over this. My thoughts are too far away.

Calissa, my best friend since college has been faithful to accompanying me until now when everyone hates me.

After that I said goodbye, and Liam took me to a park not far from Calissa's house. It's enough for thirty minutes to drive a motorbike through a small cobblestone path. I had never entered such a secluded area, a vast and beautiful garden that was in a hidden place.

"Amazing! This is the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. It turns out that you also know a place as good as this." I hysterically felt this simple luxury. The wind blew gently and toyed with my beautiful hair.

Stunning garden, lots of big trees whose trunks hang from roots. Even more amazing, there is a blue lake overgrown with white lotuses and a not-so-long bridge arch around the lake. It's so beautiful, it's hard for me to speak.

Liam invites me to stand on the bridge and take a close look at the lake. I shook my head quickly. Did he forget that I have a phobia of water?

"Don't take me to Liam's lake! You still remember, right? If I have a phobia of water." My body began to shake violently at the word lake as if I wanted to get out of the park before Liam forced me to go to the lake.

I suddenly remembered a few years ago. Mother used to show the sunset in the garden behind the house. Mother always said that her yellow light brought priceless hope. I want to cry missing my old family, considering now my only family is Aunt Chelsea.

My silly ideas started popping up to prank Liam. I told him to pick five lotus flowers in the lake and bring them to me.

"Don't be stupid, Alea. Soon the evening will turn tonight. Just think if I fell into the water and couldn't be saved again, what would it be like?" He tried to persuade me to cancel the ridiculous request.

"If you die, stay in the grave," I replied nonchalantly.

"You're right. I'm not going to die before we get married." he half-joked.

"Oh, marry you. Before you get that lotus flower, I don't want to go home. You accept all of Aunt Chelsea's scolding yourself!" I threatened.

"You can't always give me a choice." Liam ran to the edge of the lake to reach for the lotus flower that was blooming. I giggled in my seat, watching him desperately trying to keep my balance not to fall into the lake.

The afternoon sun began to disappear, leaving only a yellow light in the sky. The sound of the nocturnal animals began to sound, dozens of lights lit up the garden forming patterns with interesting variations. In the end, there is a small tree decorated with colorful lights. I no longer pay attention to Liam because I focus on looking at the beauty of the garden at night.

Suddenly, a loud noise startled me. Someone seemed to be handing something. His eyes were a little red, his hair wet and disheveled. Instead of being scared by that appearance, I laughed out loud seeing it drenched and disgusting. A kind of aquatic wild plant wrapped around his hands and neck.

"You fell in the lake?" I couldn't help but laugh and clutched my stomach. His forehead creased double, but the look in his eyes didn't show any vengeance.

"Watch out for you, eh! It's not funny to feel my revenge." He let go of the weeds and prepared to throw them.

"Stop! Stop!" I ran scared to avoid Liam who kept chasing me.

I pulled over, hid behind a tree, and held my choking breath from running. He laughed and called out my name, looking for where I was hiding.

After a few minutes of hiding, I did not see him again. I think I've gone too far. While catching my breath, suddenly something made my heart beat fast. What? Did I see wrong...

"Fariz." My loud voice startled them.

"What are you doing here, Alea?" the man looked very surprised.

"I should be the one asking that. What are you doing here?"

Instantly my vision blurred as tears rushed out of my eyes. I didn't expect Fariz to play behind my back even though we had only been dating for a week. Look, now he's sitting alone with a woman I don't know.

Men are rotten hearted, do not deserve true love! Luckily I played them so I didn't get hurt when I doubled my love. Today my eyes witnessed their love is always bullshit. There is no point.

My heartfelt squeeze. So I approached Fariz and punched him in the face until he was bruised. The boyfriend who accompanied him on a date was furious, then waved his hand to slap me on the cheek. At that moment Liam came, out of nowhere, grabbed the woman's hand, and pushed her back.

"Your hand doesn't deserve to touch Alea's cheek." Liam's eyes blazed like fire.

"He deserves a lesson for hitting my girlfriend." The woman spoke loudly as if she was ready to chop me to pieces.

"I'm also his girlfriend I was his girlfriend first." My voice is no less sadistic.

"Girlfriend, you say? A boyfriend who never cares and doesn't care at all." The woman helped Fariz to stand up.

"I don't care about anyone. Listen, Fariz ...." now I look at the man with an angry look.

"You're not the only man in the world. I pray that tonight is our last meeting." My eyes felt blurry because again the tears forced out. People like him don't deserve to be cried, I thought to myself. I quickly suppressed my tears and anger, not wanting to appear weak in front of Liam.

I have everything. Why should you cry over a jerk like him? Liam grabbed my arm and we left the park. After arriving in front of my house, Liam offered me chocolate. I nodded, then waited for Liam in front of the fence, until he returned to buy chocolate at the shop which was quite far from here.

It wasn't long before Liam came in with lots of chocolate bars. My brow furrowed when I saw the chocolate wasn't what I usually tasted Liam bought the wrong chocolate. My hand grabbed the chocolate and threw it on the ground. These chocolates should be able to cheer me up, why does it add to my frustration because this man bought the wrong chocolate?

"You stupid! I don't like this kind of chocolate. It's salty." My eyes lit up with anger.

"If you don't like it, I'll change to another chocolate." His eyes were flat, not offended by my outrageous attitude.

Finally, Liam came back with chocolates within three minutes. I don't know how to drive a motorbike to get here so fast. I opened the plastic bag and grabbed the chocolate.

My eyes widen because Liam bought very mini-size chocolate that will run out in one bite. Now my anger is getting out of control I drop the chocolate on the ground and I trample it until it crumbles on the ground.

"Why don't you respect my efforts? What's wrong with the chocolate?" he said, looking at me impassively.

"Are you stupid or stupid? I don't like mini chocolates."

"If you don't like it, don't trample it like this. That's a sign that you're not grateful for Allah's blessings. You just say you don't like it, I'll replace it with something else."

"Late! I said briefly.

"Alea, getting angry won't solve the problem."

"You made me mad." I leave Liam in front of the gate.

"Your ego is outrageous, I don't understand what's in your brain." Liam's last advice I no longer hear.

I sighed. Why does a guy as good as he have to approach me?
