Chapter 3 - First Term: First Day

July's POV:

I perked up and looked at the person who just tapped my shoulder, seeing it was Tammy. With a sigh, I held one hand over my chest to calm myself.

"Everything alright July? You were completely spaced out," she asked with a slightly worried face.

"Me? Yes, it's ... it's all fine. Just been daydreaming." I replied silently.

"The bell already rang, July. Come on, we're going to be late, and the schedule says the next lesson is with Miss Holland. I hardly think she will take that kindly." Tammy insisted while I was packing my stuff.

We were on our way to the next class, but I could hardly focus. Seemingly, that was quite obvious.

"-And this Ben guy seems like a funny guy, don't you think?" Tammy asked me.

"Ben? What?"

"Hello. He just introduced himself in class like five minutes ago. Were you that distracted by your cute seating neighbor?" she asked with a chuckle.

I just glanced at her briefly and mumbled, "Cute isn't a word I would use."

"What was that?"

"Nothing," I replied with a forced smile.

There was one advantage of being late to class. All others were already sitting at a table, so I could choose my seating neighbor this time, But of course, the only spaces empty right now were besides Ally, which of course Tammy took, and Vivian again.

This is going to be a long day.

I wasn't a bad student. I was too much of a goody two shoes to disturb class or just not pay attention. Vivian on the other hand was not helping my efforts to follow what Miss Holland was teaching to us. She sat close enough, so she could keep on rubbing her foot against my leg, while just looking forward and pretending to listen. I on the other hand struggled to follow. This was way too much of a distraction for me to learn effectively.

"Is something the matter, Miss Romanov?" Miss Holland suddenly asked.

"NO! Uhm. Sorry, I mean ... no Miss Holland, Ma'am." I replied maybe a bit too quickly.

Her stare into my eyes was quite intense, but an ever so slight smile was on her lips, "Just try to pay attention, please, Miss Romanov."

Why do people smiling at me look so dangerous around here?

I nodded and returned to listen and take notes.

I felt Vivian's hand on my leg again, and she ever so slightly dragged her nails over my skin and whispered, "Don't mess up your classes, July. Good girls pay attention."

Was she fucking serious? She was the reason why I wasn't able to concentrate. I did my best to just ignore the constant physical contact she was keeping up. Even though it was annoying the hell out of me. Okay, okay, I will admit that I was maybe, just maybe, a tiny bit turned on by this. But I did still not want to mess up my classes because of this.

I was saved by the ending bell and quickly got up to pack my stuff as soon as Miss Holland told us we were dismissed.

Tammy was waiting for me at the door, but before I could walk over I heard Miss Holland address me, "Miss Romanov? May I have a word with you." she glanced over at Tammy, "Alone?"

I sighed and looked at Tammy, "I will catch up with you."

She nodded but gave me an unsure smile, "I'll save you a good seat."

Oh, thank god, I might get to not sit beside Vivian for once.

I turned to Miss Holland again, "Sorry for not paying as much attention as you expected today, Ma'am. I guess I just need some time to settle in properly."

"I will turn a blind eye this one time since it's your first day, but should that become a regular occurrence I will have to make you face the ... consequences," she said with a little too much emphasis on that last word for my liking.

"Understood Miss Holland. Thank you."

"Go catch your next class, Miss Romanov."

"Of course, and please, feel free to call me July."

She chuckled a bit at that, "As you wish, July." She was almost purring my name there.

There it was again. That damn smile makes me feel so nervous.

I turned on my heels and made my way to the next class. It was Math. URG. At least the gods were merciful to me, and Tammy did save me a free seat beside her. As I sat down I just managed to catch Vivian's face whose eyes narrowed a little, but she was still smiling.

"What did Holland want?" Tammy whispered as our teacher Mr. Davidson began his lesson.

"Just scolded me for not paying attention in class. Got off the hook this time though." I explained in the same whisper.

"Why didn't you? Could it be that you have a little crush already?" she asked me with a teasing voice.

"On Vivian? No. I just didn't sleep that well, so I zoned out." I lied.

Why did I even lie? What could I have possibly told her? That I was too distracted by Vivian getting all touchy under the table and got turned on by the thought? Yeah, sure. Like I was gonna tell a girl I just barely know just how much of a naughty girl I was. I mean, how slutty would that sound to her?

"If you say so. You could try and sleep in my bed, you know."

What?

When I looked at her confused, she quickly and quietly explained, "I don't mean with me. Just maybe the mattress is different. Might make you sleep better."

"Thanks. I might take you up on that offer." I told her, knowing it wouldn't change a thing.

She smiled at me in a friendly way and we both returned to focus on the class again.

The rest of the classes before lunch went a lot more smoothly. Mainly cause Tammy chose to sit beside me in all of them, making it impossible for Vivian to invade my private space again. When I told Tammy that I would not mind her sitting with Ally, she just told me that some space from her sister is something she also enjoys. So I dropped that subject, being highly glad about it in secret.

...

Lunch break was something I was looking forward to. I didn't have breakfast today, so I was quite hungry. The cafeteria was bustling with students, but soon we grabbed our lunch from the nice lady that handed it out, Tammy and I sat down at a free table. Ally also decided to join us since there was plenty of space on them.

"Gosh, some of these girls are hot. I might need to go and make a try for some soon." Ally told us with a wide smirk.

"Like anyone would want to have a one-night stand with you, sister," Tammy remarked while rolling her eyes.

Ally smacked her on the shoulder, "I'm a fucking charmer, Tammy. Bet they would die to fuck with me. Like July here. I bet she thinks I'm hot."

"Pardon?" I looked at Ally with a bored expression.

Before Ally could make another snarly remark, an arm wormed its way around my shoulder and Ajax sat down beside me.

"Hey, Cutie. You mentioned you were a music lover. Want me to make some rhymes about what I would do to you?" he suggested with his eyebrows wiggling.

I gently took his arm and removed it from my shoulder, "No, thank you. What gives you the crazy idea that that line would get you lucky with any girl?"

"Oh, come on, sweetie. I could show you a great time."

"Give it a rest, Ajax. She's not interested." Ty said and sat down across from me, right next to Tammy.

With his broad build and Ally on her other side, that bench was getting pretty crowded. He just smiled friendly at all three of us and then scratched his neck.

"I hope you don't mind us sitting here. Just thought we might get to know a few more people than just our roommate."

"No worries Ty. Might be a good idea to make new friends." Tammy said, clearly a bit nervous, besides the hulking figure.

"Tammy is right. More friends are always good. And looking around, we are already at the table with the cool kids." I joked with a friendly smile.

"Well, you're the table with the hot girls," Ajax said with a wink toward me, to which I AND Tammy rolled our eyes.

It made us both chuckle. She did understand me quite well for not knowing me that long. And hey bunking in a room with my best friend yet did seem like a fun time. Would surely make the years in this school much more bearable.

Suddenly a plate was smashing to the floor somewhere. All of our heads were turning in that direction and what we saw was pretty shocking. The black-haired girl with the blue tips and Veronica were both standing between two tables. Veronica's plate has been smashed on the ground, and she was staring at the other girl furiously.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Dia? I was just wanting to eat in peace," she exclaimed.

"In peace? I told you to leave me the fuck alone. You constantly keep bothering me when all I want to do is have a normal damn conversation with Lucy." Dia retorted and gestured toward the girl with the cyan hair.

"I just wanted to sit there. The table is big enough, right?"

"So you find it normal to try and sit in between me and the person I want to talk to?" Dia asked, quite agitated.

Veronica just crossed her arms, "You owe me a meal. Go get me a new one."

"Fuck off, you damn bitch." Dia was about to storm off and walk past Veronica when her arm was grabbed.

"I told you to get me a new meal. You crushed mine."

"Get your hands off of me." the grabbed girl, screamed, and ripped her arm free, smacking it across Veronica's face.

Veronica snarled and grabbed Dia's hair, starting to pull it violently.

"That's it." Ty stood up and made his way over.

Before anyone could interfere, he went in and shoved both of them apart. With his body blocking them from reaching one another, the fight ended and turned into a furious staring contest.

"Enough is enough. You two really wanna start a brawl in here? Pull your shit together." Ty addressed both of them and made sure they couldn't just walk around him.

Veronica looked a bit intimidated by Ty being there. Dia just glared daggers at him, probably wanting to keep going all out on her new-found rival. But even though she seemed to accept that Ty was an obstacle she could not overcome that quickly.

"Stay out of my fucking way, Veronica, or else I will make you regret it." Dia threatened and stormed off.

Lucy followed her with a sigh and abandoned her meal, probably wanting to help her friend calm down and stay out of trouble. For a moment it almost seemed like Veronica wanted to do the same and follow them, but to my surprise, Vivian, out of all people, rested her hand on Veronica's shoulder and whispered something to her. Veronica scowled and then went to get herself something new to eat.

When Ty sat down again at our table, I gave him a quite respectful nod, "You sure you ain't wanting to become a bouncer? Would suit you, for sure."

"Nah, I hate stress and fighting. And trust me, looking like this helps to stop fights before they start," he answered and flexed his bicep for emphasis, making his jacket look like it was about to blow up.

"You really should get a uniform in a size bigger, Ty. Or at least stop wearing that jacket. Because that just looks ridiculous." Ally told him with an eye roll.

"Hey, I'm already on it. Mr. Ryder just told me it takes time to arrive."

...

The last class of the day was gym-class. Our teacher in that was Aaron Darkonte. He was an imposing figure to look at. In all aspects, he seemed like an older version of Ty. He was tall, dark-skinned, and ripped. And by ripped, I don't mean like some well-trained sports player. I mean like Schwarzenegger's terminator ripped. Like he was a bodybuilder for many years. And turns out he was a hard ass.

His first task was to test how much of sporty people we were. We went through a lot of drills that left many of us out of breath. There were some exceptions. Dia and Lucy for example were much more sporty than they looked. Not to a point where they had six-pack abs or anything. But they were currently running right in the front after overtaking me and some others in running laps. Of course, Ty and some other guys were also upfront with them.

I like to think I was holding my own. True, Ty already overtook me like three times by now, but I was running with the largest group. The only thing that annoyed me was when Vivian ran past me with a rather nonchalant smile and tossed me a wink, just to slow down to a point in front of me where she was running right before me. Even if I didn't want to, my eyes were drawn to her butt a few times. She might be annoying like hell and scaring the shit out of me with her comments, but she did look stunningly good. And the tight reddish pink shorts did not help at all to ignore that.

"Don't start drooling, July." Tammy joked beside me, ripping me from my thoughts.

"What? I didn't-"

"Please, you have been staring at that ass for a solid five minutes now." She interrupted me.

I could feel my face heat up and fell into a slower run alongside Tammy, "It's nothing like that."

Before I could elaborate further, though, I was again ripped from the conversation by a shout, "Romanov! Jones! I told you all to run and not walk. Now RUN!"

Speeding up again, both I and Tammy rolled our eyes at Mr. Darkonte. It leads us to chuckle again in unison at the fact we thought the same there. As I said before. Best friends.

The best part of gym class was the fact I had a chance to finally take a shower after. Since I didn't get a chance to do so in the morning, I was fully planning to enjoy it. So while most girls went in and took a quick one, I eagerly took a cubicle as one of the last girls, so I would not stop the others.

I was in the process of shampooing my hair when the curtain of the shower behind me opened. Turning around, I stood face to face with a naked Vivian. Her body was more toned than mine. The way there was still sweat glistening on her tanned skin and her hair was messy from a lot of physical activity we went through was strangely erotic. But that small smile always playing on her lips was driving me into a corner.

She casually walked into the shower, backing me up against the wall and practically cornering me. My eyes quickly darted down her body. Her breasts were about the size of mine, I would say. Maybe a hint bigger. D-cup perhaps? But where my eyes stopped was her crotch.

She ... She has a dick?

"Trans woman," she explained with a chuckle.

My eyes darted back up, and I blushed brightly, "I ... I didn't stare. I mean ... didn't want to stare."

She came even closer, her body only centimeters away from mine, "You can stare all you want. I certainly don't mind. But you still owe me an explanation."

"Explanation?" I was starting to become highly confused.

She rested one hand on my cheek and began stroking lower over my neck and even along the curve of my breasts. My whole body seemed to be heating up extremely, and I felt goosebumps rising.

Closing the gap between us, her chest was now pressing against mine and her leg brushed mine as she pushed her thigh slightly between mine, "You have been avoiding me all day. Yet you keep staring at me."

I swallowed hard, "I'm ... I'm not avoiding you. Tammy just ... she's my best friend. And my roommate. So sitting beside her-"

Vivian pressed a finger to my lips, silencing me, "You can't fool me. And you can't fool yourself. I don't mind you sitting beside her and not me. But avoiding me is not an option, July. It hurts me if you do so. So you will make up for that."

The way she purred out my name and was so close to me was making me shudder. This woman was so confident and strong-willed. It both scared me and turned me on.

Sensing my confusion, she went on, "When do you get up in the mornings?"

"A ... Around seven normally. But ... the showers were so ... so crowded then. Might going to make that like ... like six, so I have more time." I explained, still confused and stuttering a little.

"Good. I get around at seven o'clock sharp. Tomorrow, you will bring me my coffee by then. That will be a good apology." she offered up to my surprise.

This wasn't what I expected but still felt like she was going for something more.

She then leaned in and raised my chin, so I was forced to look into her smokey gray eyes. Her face only separated from touching mine by the width of a hair. Her stare into my eyes was making me hot and uncomfortable at the same time.

"Don't fail me, July. Else I might need to punish you."
