Chapter 12 - Chapter Twelve

Vimiar

It had the structure of a leopard; I could tell it was almost jaguar-like but was superseded more by the caracal because of its pointy ears. The strange yet glorious beast stood before me with its black fur and amethyst eyes looking more menacing with their towering figure.

To think they held me in a trance was alarming, what power did this creature have and to what extent did it go?

Vimiar.

The beast of the wild or The Paradors everyone called it when it was abundant or so I heard. Once.

.... It was also said that the vimiars were Saber-toothed panthers or something, again I heard that from somewhere and was beginning to doubt it cause I was looking at a pitch-black furred amethyst-eyed caracal hybrid.

No saber tooths.

We were in the forest of ala kana eazwukú,

The aftermath of Eden.

I heard it from stories my mother used to tell me and my sister when we were younger. And as the stories said, it was truly a beautiful place.

Sitting under a tree in a distant corner, I could see everyone. Their definition was more pronounced than it was in the dimly lit cave of imponu. Ïsale was a huge entirely bald black man, muscled at most and was the tallest among all four of us. To think he could shrink with that body size was a wonder and it made me chuckle slightly.

He had eyes that danced with innocence despite his physical build and was cheerful in spirit. This made me understand what Vire said before, Samaritâ evma chiapun.

Samaritan who became a god.

I don't know what kind of god he was, maybe the god of havoc or destruction or the god of happy spirit and dancing eyes, I don't know which, but I never said I wasn't going to find out. Right now, that god was rolling on the grass with three pitch black vimiars laughing gleefully.

Noriimanbaschi the blind oracle sat in silence under another tree like I was, his cane lying vertically on his thigh. Earlier when I saw him standing, he wasn't a towering figure like Ïsale or muscular either, he was slenderer to be precise and had an aura of stoicism around him.

Maybe because he was blind?

What surprised me more about this Avino Marla ll citizen was the fact that he was very young, if not the youngest in the group. This I judged from just looking at his face which I could see now thanks to daylight.

His skin was fresh, his body not showing any sign of weakness whatsoever, and his eyes despite being blind were actively glittering against the sun showing years of untapped energy in them. How old was this chestnut-haired blind oracle?

Now Vire.

While profiling Ïsale I saw her filling her gourd with water by the crystal-clear stream nearby, now she was nowhere to be seen.

"Who are you talking to?"

Ausus!

I was startled out of my shoes.

"Don't ever sneak up on me like that" I warned turning to look at the 5'8 Egyptian milk-skinned Vire. Her blue eyes complimented by her packed-up black hair were a sight to behold.

"I didn't sneak up on you you know,

I could hear your thoughts even if I was dead" she said laying more emphasis on the word dead.

"Yeah right" I sighed. "Ala Kana´s good place to think".

She looked at me, her eyes dancing before a smile tattooed itself on her face, she said; "yes, it is".

" Which is Julay?"

I inquired sadly tearing my eyes from her magnificence to the vimiars and Ïsale playing still.

Sitting down she points at the biggest "There she is". I thought so.

"She's a beauty"

It wasn't a lie.

"Aft tu quara malu spek prapa tah" I remembered these words as she said them again, she said them to me when we first met.

"What does it mean?"

Her eyes became void, her face blank with expression. "I don't know, it was the last word my mama said to me."

She opened her mouth to speak when we all heard Ïsale scream.

"She's given birth!!!"
