"What's next is the third challenge young Alphas." Lois claimed as she appeared in front of the group "As expected the Alphas were the ones to discover the puzzle and even defend themselves from the Pack."
The Pack are a proud group of wolves who know every fighting style and is trained from earlier on, most are from the Sun clan a handful are from the Crest and Flares very few come from the Moon clan. They're the secondary defense of Wolftopia if the Suns and Alphas fail to defend the barriers. In this case the Pack were used to go easy on the newer generation to see if they could understand and realize the truth behind this challenge. Lois had been the first Pack member to become an Alpha which surprised many,
"This concludes Round 2 of the Wolf Tournament let's see how you will uphold the name of your parents."
"Wait! I need to ask a question about this tournament!" Westen shouted as Lois had started to walk around then slowly turned around looking menacingly as Westen tried to speak before Fred slammed him into the ground,
"Don't forget your place boy you're the next Alpha but you should show respect to the Alpha of the Crests instead of shouting." Lois raised her hand telling Fred to stand down, her attention was drawn to the one who had fought Fred to a stand still even having his hand ready to break his neck, Lloyd had reacted to Fred that quickly. "Very impressive there Altima it seems you're discovering the Awakening or perhaps it's your instincts of the past allowing things to happen the way they are, who truly knows." Lois shrugged walking away with Fred and the other masked wolf behind her eventually the sun rose as the other groups woke up finding that everything had been cleared out confused on what happened, Johnthan Sun soon appeared,
"Well…well wonderful job for whoever is left we're narrowing down the herd of this generation and only 2 challenges remain of course the next one is by far my favorite."
Within seconds a bright light flashed and soon everyone appeared in a massive room with a sort of obstacle course in front of them, as many looked around to scan the area Lloyd's glasses which had been tinted 10x this entire tournament limiting him to use his other senses and it was meant to keep the power of his eyes from effecting anyone around him, he couldn't do much other than listen to what everyone was saying,
"That's a massive bridge at the end."
"Ropes? Are we swinging across that giant hole?"
" Definitely land mines are planted ahead of us I mean it's a giant field of dirt spanning at least 100 yards."
"There's platforms afterwards that look like we're jumping around in a pattern maybe…or something else I mean it looks basically so there has to be that's going to be challenging right?"
With so much being said Lloyd had created a mental picture of the course or at least what he believed it looked like that was until he heard someone walking over to him
"Bro you do realize that you can scan the area right? I figured that's what you were doing in Challenge 1 right? So do what Phoenix taught us and actually figure out the image of this place or do you want me to be your eyes?" Westen asked as Lloyd smiled
"We don't know the exact reason why this course is in front of us so perhaps it's time for the Moon Twins to show why we're so deadly." Lloyd answered before Westen started laughing
"Of course you'd used that name, come on man that's just some random nickname we came up with, when training so that we could hype ourselves up course Uncle Sun didn't like it at all why bring it up now?"
"Why not make it a reality this is the time and place right? I mean show them truly what we're made of and not even just us but the Alphas as a whole, make them know exactly why Aaron said what he did about our generation."
"I like the sound of that to be honest…course if that's your nickname for the 2 of you what about the 3 of us?" John interjected as Westen turned to look at him with Lloyd eventually looking towards the course and saying,
"What about The Ultimate Trio? I mean we have 2 Alphas and the Altima right we're the Ultimate threat to our enemy."
"Nah sounds too much for us as of right now maybe we'll use it for later."
"What about you Westen? Got any names for the three of us?"
"Well in all of our History the Altima has always had a left and right hand, they were always referred to as the Omega and Beta. The Second in Command is always the Beta and the one always standing out is the Omega completely different from everyone successful without the hierarchy of our people." Westen claimed as the other 2 were smiling before Lloyd spoke,
"So The Cursed, The Successful and The Commander those are some good nicknames if I ever heard of any…now then as for the combination of it all…"
"How about Defiance? I mean that's our generation and we're carrying it on our backs." John interrupted as Lloyd and Westen nodded in agreement
"That makes you the Beta my left hand John and Westen the Omega my right hand." Lloyd claimed as the trio stood in a dramatic fashion with Westen on Lloyd's right side and John standing on Lloyd's left side both behind him in arm's reach.
Everyone began to line up at the starting line with Lloyd, Westen, and John standing side by side as the horn blared, the challenge began. Wolves running forward others trying to take a different route from the different either going left or right in the first part of the course being the landmine field, Lloyd is able to see beneath his feat due to his senses at least to the degree to notice where a mine was John and Westen were behind him leading others away from their path by shifting just enough in one direction for someone to step on a mine sending them flying back. Once Lloyd was across he came to the second part a massive hole ropes were placed as the began to swing he felt something off about his rope and quickly jumped to the next hearing a snap looking behind hearing different snaps from other ropes,
"Don't worry about everyone Lloyd keep going through you're clearly fast enough to figure out what is a real rope and what isn't so go!" Westen shouting encouraging his brother to keep moving which is exactly what Lloyd did each time he was able to move to the next rope just before a fake one snapped eventually making it to the end of the second part of the course moving on to the third portion which was a bridge of glass.
Before the bridge of glass was a couple of rocks Lloyd picked up a few then threw one on a piece of glass hearing it shatter, Westen and John had caught up at this time seeing what Lloyd had done,
"So one is real the other is fake just like the rope course but this time we have an item to help us tell the difference but it's limited." John explained as he picked up a few rocks as well with Westen doing the same before speaking,
"Yeah but the bridge looks long about 100 yards like the first 2 parts we each have 5 rocks which means we have to be careful it'll only get us about halfway through maybe."
"From what I can tell the paths are right next to each other which means if we're close enough to the next piece we could bounce the rocks seeing the possibility of what's next. I mean the whole thing is 50/50." Lloyd proclaimed as the others nodded in agreement. John threw his rock allowing it to bounce to the next two piece one shattered and the other was fine John's rock had luckily stopped on top of the next piece so they could reuse it. The three continued this process each time figuring out at least 3 parts ahead eventually making it halfway through at the 50 yard mark Westen noticed that the glass bridge was getting further apart with each section, at this point of the course the next section was a jump which meant this is where the true challenge began there was no real way to figure out how to make out the difference between the two piece of glass.
The trio stood there until Lloyd got an idea, but the issue was how exactly was he going to do it with both of them and let alone doing it to the point it would succeed, he had only done it with smaller things or objects that were somewhat heavy but he had to at least try,
"How far can you 2 jump?" Lloyd questioned as the 2 looked at him
"Upwards I can do about 30 yards forwards about 25 yards why?" John answered while questioning Lloyd's thoughts
"If I can do this correctly I can throw both of you across to the end problem is I haven't been able to throw something of your weights so at best I could get you to the last part of the bridge." Lloyd explained as Westen stood there thinking while John stood there a little shocked before looking over at Westen,
"What are you thinking about over there Moon?" John asked as Westen lifted his head to respond
"Well it's possible the problem is if Lloyd throws us it's possible that he'll fall into that pit below us or he could land on the next section. The problem is it's 50/50 if he lands on the right one."
