Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the End

Empire of Lyeaif, Throne Room.

A man clad In dark robes opened a pair of tall doors made of metal. The sounds of it's opening echoed across the spacious but empty room which had it's presence only enhanced by the plain, tall pillars lined in a row that held the ceilings of the palace. In the center of the room sat a man on a golden throne. Though the space around gave off a domineering presence, his figure did not. The man could be seen sitting, robes made of silk resting on either side of him. Though they are robes made of finest silk, none could be seen of it now. The first thing you would notice of this man is not his majestic dress but the dark circles under his eyes. His clothes, dirty with patches of filth unbefitting of a man of such status. This was the current Emperor of Lyeaif, Sun He. Sun He eyed the man as he crouched with every step of his approach until he fully kneeled down just in-front of his feet. Although he knew what was going to be said, he asked anyway.

"What seems to have you in such a state, High General Huang Siyun"

"They have weakened the Sealing Star Barrier past repair, we no longer have any resources to maintain it for long. We have already begun retreat of the border stations and should have our main force meet them in a days time. What is our next move?"

The Emperor sighed. He look through the tall palace windows that seemed to no longer give light to the room as before. This outcome was not out of expectations, he knew it would come at some point. 'They are too strong, this resistance of ours already affirmed it. It is as it was told'. After thinking to himself, the emperor looked up.

"Anymore effort is wasted, alert the factions of our situation and pass the Pandemonium Decree".

"Emperor? Pass the Pandemonium Decree? With all due resp-".

"Enough!"

The Emperors Ascendent Qi filled the room, shaking the interior walls and throwing what little objects remained in the once grand room flying.

Huang Siyuan, even with his Commandant Qi, couldn't resist the immense pressure and fell further on his knees.

"This Empire is lost. With this decree, all commanding officials are relieved of duty. Inform the noble family's of my decision"

Huang Siyuan raised his again to meet the eyes that appeared dim compared to before. Having served Sun He for decades, Huang Siyuan was sure of one thing. Any decision Sun He made, is not without thought. Knowing he couldn't change his mind, Huang Siyuan again stood, exiting the room leaving the tall metal doors closing behind him.

Now all alone, Sun He stood up. His hands glowed with bright gold energy correspondent to his ascendant stage qi. His hand formed awkward signs and moved in strange paths. At the end of sequence, a bright formation lit up the floor. The runes of the formation, glowing a bright purple rose in the air, forming a strange pattern of illegible words. Sun He, paying no mind to the mysteriousness of the letters bit his finger. A drop of blood oozed out, but instead of falling, it rose up to meet the formation. Sun He watched as the drop of blood rose, combining with the strange lettering as it began to shine.

"It's has begun".

Sun He looked up once again.

The words that were otherwise illegible seemed to arrange into something Sun He has seen many times in the past years. As much as he feared it, tried to make sense of it, he found nothing. The dreaded 3 words he found seeing in his dreams drenched in blood seemed all too familiar. The lettering arrange into bright red letters that read:

"The Great End".
