"Terry... I don't know if this was just my hallucination or something. When I woke up from almost drowning... I saw you mouthing some words without sounds."
I was drinking wine, and I choked, not expecting her to say that.
"Hey, you okay?" she asked with worry and gently tapped my back.
I nodded and wiped my mouth using the back of my hand.
"I hope you don't mind this, but can you tell me the reason behind your disorder? How you stopped speaking and your history." she inquired. "If it's too sensitive, don't force yourself to share."
She looked so intrigued, and with her puppy-like eyes, I couldn't even say no.
Looks like I need to sew lies again and make up a story.
I picked up my phone. [I was abandoned by my mother when I was only 10, and that's when I started not being able to speak.]
Her eyes widened a little. "O-okay... Do you want to take speech therapy? I'll take you to a doctor so you can get better."
