Efthalia approached her, "Did I make you wait too long?" He asked.
His heart clenched at the sight of her. Though her nose had stopped bleeding but it didn't stop to show that it had bled more than enough. The blood on her dress was fresh. The pale expression of her and the tired eyes she stared at made him regret leaving her behind.
Lucien, without knowing, raised her hand and touched his cheek. It was cold, but for Efthalia, it was warm. He felt goosebumps traveling his scalp at the touch of her. She had never touched his cheek but she felt better. 'It's really him, and it's not a dream.'
She has dreamed of him coming back from the war several times that sometimes, it made her think it was real.
Lucien smiles and gently shakes her head. "No.." There were still tears flowing across her cheek even when she smiled. "Welcome home." And that was when she lost consciousness. She felt right into his chest.
