Lucien was stunned by the sight. It felt like a dream. She was still floating with the help of Jeriah who held her hand. She could feel the wind blowing towards her and even the warmth from the burning fire.
It wasn't long before she could hear the screams of the people. She was confused at first until Jeriah explained, "Every person in the empire was drugged, making them slumber into deeper sleep."
"But how is that possible?"
"The drug was most likely spread through the air. It wasn't possible to put it in their drinking water or food since the effect might not work together." Lucien understood after he explained.
Those mages who were able to escape tried to use their ability in pouring water but it wasn't working. It was the same as those servants who were splashing buckets of water on those burning bushes or curtains.
