Lucien doesn't even remember how long she had been staring at him but this time, she didn't move her gaze away. There were questions she wanted to ask but none came out from her lips.
"Are you worried?"
Suddenly, her empty thoughts were flicked off when Efthalia questioned. He was as well gazing straight at her. "Sometimes, I can't read your mind when you look like you've lots of questions in your expression." He leans forward. "But some other times, your expression gives away what you are thinking about."
Lucien doesn't plan to fall into this soft trap that was laid before her. It was only going to give it away if she showed a little of her emotion. She did not want to waver. Lucien quickly moved her attention away. "Isn't it normal for any wife to behave in this manner if their husband were suddenly going to war?"
*Sigh*
He leans back. "I am leaving because I trust you. The empire now doesn't only have the emperor but an empress as well."
