"Iida? Iida Tenya?"

The voice caught the blue haired boy's attention, snapping out of his trance.

He turned to see a middle-aged man, wearing a light blue long-sleeve shirt with a white stripe down the front, yellow gloves, and a helmet matching the color of his shirt, with a large fin sticking out of the top coming his way.

"Glad I found ya so quick! I was afraid I was gonna be looking for you forever!"

"I'm glad to have seen you so quickly as well!" Iida nodded. "You are Mr. Mizushima, correct?"

"That I am." The fin-headed hero smiled as he thrust a thumb at himself. "But when I'm on the job, you can call me 'Manual!'"

The super-speed boy put on a small smile, but Manual could see the strain in his face. "Listen…I'm real sorry about what happened to-"

"It's fine!" Iida snapped, taking Mizushima by surprise.

The blue haired boy gathered himself quickly, clearing his throat to break the sudden tension. "I mean…It's okay, thank you. Even if he can't be a hero anymore…he's still a hero to me."

Manual smiled and nodded.

"To all of us…" The fin-headed hero decided to move things along before they got awkward again.

"Well, how's about we go and get you settled in at the agency?" We need to sign some paperwork before you can come on patrol with me, but we'll save all that for tomorrow. Give you some time to recuperate after your trip- "

"No!" Iida cut the fin-headed hero off. "I-If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to go on patrol as soon as possible…"

"Uh…alright," Mizushima shrugged. "I guess there's nothing wrong with that. Are you sure you wanna start so soon?"

"The sooner, the better…" Iida stated earnestly, doing his best to keep the boiling anger out of his voice.

"…Alright. If that's what you really want." Mizushima shrugged nonchalantly as he led the super-speed boy toward their next destination.

The fin-head hero failed to notice, however, the dark look that flashed over the super-speed boy's face as they walked away from the station.

While the hero and student walked away, another figure stepped out of the station and onto the busy sidewalk.

He looked to be the same age as the spectacled speeder, wearing a plain, dark green hoodie over his head, and a medical facemask covering his identity.

Taking a moment to readjust the backpack on his shoulders before walking away, disappearing into the rushing crowd.

The stranger kept his head down as he walked along the busy pavement, not wanting to catching anyone's unwanted attention.

Though, it seemed that wherever they were going and who they were talking to on their phones was more important than some shady-looking character passing them by.

The stranger mentally patted himself on the back for picking Hosu City as his hiding spot until the heat died down.

The bustling business settlement was the perfect place for a wanted criminal to keep a low profile, as everyone who lived here mostly kept to themselves and their private business.

The stranger then stopped at a road crossing, surrounded by a small crowd of civilians waiting for the lights to change, so as to cross safely.

As he waited, his attention was then drawn to a large jumbo screen on the side of a building, where the large familiar letters of 'HNN' shot across the screen. "This is the Hero News Network, with Daikaku Miyagi."

"Good evening." The horned anchor greeted.

"Tragedy has struck Hero Society once again, as Red Rocket, the beloved Red-Streaked Hero, was found dead behind a convenience store on the outskirts of Hosu City."

Most of the people surrounding the green-clad stranger gasped at the horrible news of another slain hero, with the masked drifter's eyes widening in surprise as well.

"Police have already begun an investigation, but all elements discovered at the scene of the murder, point to this being yet another in the numerous attacks committed by the infamous 'Hero Killer'; Stain." Miyagi explained as the image then switched to a crime scene set up by local authorities, with officers keeping civilians and the press away from the closed-off area.

While the dark confines of the back ally were hard to see into, one could still make out the telltale streaks of crimson decorating the walls, showing how the slain hero's last moments were a bloody and horrible encounter with the mysterious marauder.

The stranger looked away from the screen, shaken by the sight of the blood on screen, while also trying to fathom what he had just seen and heard.

News about the infamous 'Hero Killer' had started to grow over the last few weeks, rivaling the story of the Quirkless villain who hijacked the Sports Festival and beat his old school bully half to death.

And it turns out that the same serial murderer was now in the same city as him…

A sudden scoff drew the young drifter's attention to a man with three sets of arms in a suit to his right, all of which were folded firmly in front of him. "I don't know which is worse' this 'Hero Killer' nut-job, or that crazy 'Deku' brat…"

"How can you say that?!" A woman to the drifter's left, with her hair looking like a ginger sea urchin coming out of her head, turned to face the multi-armed man with aghast.

"How can you even compare the two of them?!"

"Did you see what he did to that kid at the Sports Festival?!" The multi-limbed man shot back hotly. "He'll be lucky to eat anything solid from now on, after that beating he got!"

"Well, if you ask me, he had it coming!" Another voice piped up to the man's side.

A young man with a pair of ant antenna sticking out of the cap on his head, leaned into the conversation to defend the Quirkless criminal.

"You saw what that Bakugo punk did to him for all those years? How could Deku not snap under all that abuse?"

The ginger-urchin woman nodded her head in agreement, while the multi-limbed man looked to be growing more and more frustrated.

"W-Well…couldn't he have just called the cops on that kid? Or even told a hero? No need to go all Villain, if you ask me!"

"Do you have any idea how hard it is for anyone without a Quirk to be taken seriously in this day and age?" The woman chimed in once more.

"It was only after Deku showed up that I actually started paying attention, as sorry as I am to say it."

"What the heck is wrong with you?!" The multi-limbed man bellowed in outrage.

"You're defending him like he's some kind of hero! Okay, so maybe his school bully had it coming, but did all those banks he robbed? Hmm? What about all the heroes he put in hospital?"

The two defenders of the villain child hung their heads at the man's words, unable to disagree with him.

Deku all the while, found his breathing beginning to grow quicker and more ragged over the conversation.

The guilt of the crimes he had committed gnawing at his chest, unable to push it out of his mind like he had in the past.

"Not only that…but can you imagine what his mother must think of him?!"

Those words were the final push. Deku rushed out into the road, refusing to hear another word that could strike at his already worn and tattered conscience.

Cries from the people behind him, telling him to stop and come back, were drowned out by the sudden horn of a sleek black limousine that came rushing toward the disguised villain child…
