The data centre of the massive arena was the motherboard of the whole structure. Everything from the lights, cameras, event tech, terminal and transmitting network ran through this one room.
Dozens of gigantic server computers stood in an organized row, humming as they processed data and broadcast the event across the whole nation.
From the ceiling of the computerized room, an air vent came loose and collapsed to the floor with a clatter.
La Brava, out of her disguise and in her usual attire, poked her little head out of the vent, her pigtails dangling down from the gravity.
Seeing that the coast was clear, the petite felon wriggled her way out of the ceiling and landed on the floor gracefully.
She reached up to her ear and activated the communication device to the ringleader of the plan. "Deku, I've found the data centre of the stadium and am about to hack in. You want me to play the footage when I do?"
"Negative, La Brava." The young villain's voice came back. "Gentle still needs to do his part. Just get piggyback on the security cameras and TV footage for now. I'll let you know when to play the footage."
"Right!" The tiny hacker answered back with a nod. Figuring the spot where she landed was good enough, she pulled out her laptop, a mess of wires, and Deku's flash drive.
Using her keen eye for tech, she spotted the broadcasting, jumbo screen, and radio servers. She wired up her computer to each of the oversized computers and opened up her laptop.
La Brava smiled. She had been dying to match her hacking skills against the iron wall that was UA's online security network.
She had spent many a sleepless night designing the perfect viruses to break through to the mainframe, and now, at long last, Deku had given her the chance.
"Hey, Deku? You still haven't told us what's on this drive of yours." The pigtailed girl commented as she hooked up her laptop to the giant processors.
The boy on the other end grew hesitant on how to answer the girl's query. "W-Well...It's something like Gentle's videos! I figured that this would be the best chance for me to introduce myself to the world, and show them I'm not afraid to be who I am!"
"Really?! That's great! It's wonderful to know I'm not the only one to be inspired by Gentle~!" The tiny felon swooned as she typed away at her keyboard, coming up to her first obstacle; the UA mainframe firewall.
La Brava laced her fingers together and gave them a crack. This was gonna be fun...
------------------------------
"Y-Yeah!" Deku agreed with a forced smile. "I think we should keep to radio silence for a while now. Let me know when you're in."
He took his finger away from his ear and looked back to the festival when he heard the sound of sniffing to his side.
He looked back to see Gentle with tears in his eyes, with his mouth no doubt trembling with withheld sobs. "I inspired you to show your face to the world, and declare your pride in being a villain... I'm so proud to be your teacher, my boy!"
The elasticity man then collapsed on the young villain's shoulder, crying his eyes out.
Patrons looked back at the odd pair once more, with Deku this time apologising for his 'uncle's exaggerated behaviour. "Sorry! He gets... emotional at festivals."
The awkward moment was broken when Midnight announced the beginning of the next event; the classic cavalry battle.
A team made up of four students pick someone to be at the top of a horse formation, with one of their teammates being the rider.
The rider has a headband worth a certain number of points, and taking the headbands off of other teams earns you more.
The team with the most points at the end of the event wins.
The students down on the field began to make their teams. Almost none of the other competitors wanted to team up with Shoto, the ice wielder.
After coming in first place in the obstacle course, he was given the headband with the most points out of them all; ten million points.
Surprisingly, Shoto was immediately swamped by the others, begging to be on his team.
Out of the crowd that swarmed all over him, the scarred boy chose Denki Kaminari, a boy with blonde hair with a black streak with the power to conduct electricity.
Momo Yoyozuru, a girl with a long black ponytail, could create just about anything from her body. And Tenya Iida, who he recognized from the USJ with his speed quirk.
All in all, not a bad combination.
The Quirkless boy began to take notes about how the combination of their quirks could give them the upper hand in the battle.
All the while, Gentle watched the boy go, muttering up a storm and writing at inhuman speeds. A small smile made its way to his face.
"You truly are amazing, my boy."
Deku looked up from his notes and over to his 'uncle', who was giving him a proud smile underneath his face mask. "What do you mean?"
"From how you write and can watch others with such close detail, it's almost as if you had a quirk of your own this entire time!" Gentle chuckled heartily.
The boy was surprised to hear such praise again from the man, putting on a warm smile of his own under his face cover. "Maybe if I was a little dishonest, I could have probably taken the entrance exam and made it into UA."
"Oh, come now! You wouldn't do something as vulgar as lie." The flamboyant thief declared.
"What makes you say that?" The young villain queried with a raised eyebrow.
"Because your too good to do so." The elasticity man clarified cheerfully.
Deku looked at the man for a while before turning back, a humourless chuckle escaping his lips. "Too good to lie, huh...?"
------------------------------
"So, tell us, my boy! What will we be stealing?"
"Huh?" Deku turned to the flamboyant thief with confusion.
"This is supposed to be a heist, correct? That must mean that we are to steal something!" Gentle explained like it was obvious. "So, tell us. What is it that we shall be taking at this grand event?"
Deku took a moment to think the question over, before giving his crew a smile before revealing the outcome of his plan.
He reached for the next parchment of his board and lifted it over. "We will be stealing...the sports festival gold medals!"
The reveal of the spoils awaiting them at the end of the operation was enough to make the crooks rise into a fit of cheers and celebration.
"That's brilliant, my boy!" Gentle rose his cup in a toast.
"Think of how much we could make with one of those!" Mr Red grinned as he imagined holding one of the valuable trophies in his hands.
"We could get a new truck! No...a van!" Mr Blue declared ecstatically.
"We could buy out a whole pizza joint with that kinda doe!" Mr Yellow licked his chops as he rubbed his belly, already tasting the blend of cheese and tomato in his mouth.
"We're gonna be rolling in it by the end of this job!" Mr Green rubbed his hands in anticipation of the wealth they were sure to collect.
As the dazzling duo and the pack of dogs let their excitement get ahold of them, Kurogiri kept his eyes on the mastermind of the operation.
He noticed that while the boy was smiling, his eyes looked to be more sullen than usual. It was as if he had just committed something he deeply regretted.
Something behind the living cloud's glowing yellow eyes told him that there was much more to this plan than Deku was letting on. So much more...
