Third POV
Arman Heroux of the house Heroux live on the continent of Ashemania. Arman and his sister and brother mourn their father, Lord Arne. Arman with his silver sword in his hand shouted great praise of his father. He then knees with the sword. He accepts his new title of Lord of Heroux and the land that this house owned.
This land called The Fang Vales. He buried his father and return to his castle. His home, Growltress. A castle made of stone. It still looks like it's in it prime. It's been around for 145 years now. He rests his head and fall into his sleep.
But his sleep had another meaning from him beside wonder of the fantasy. His dream started like any other. In a black void waiting to be filled. Then a light starts to shine. But unlike its golden color from others. This light shine red. The light showed an army of unknown creatures with the dead walking along side it.
Arman could see a walking corpse of his father, mother, grandfather, uncle, and even his grandmother. Words start to speak from their mouths. This will come. WE WILL COME. We always come. We are inevitable. We are your DOOM and JUSTICE. We are your nightmares. We are your persecutors. You will FALL. They will FALL. We will RISE. Beware your consequences. We are always Watching.
Arman wakes up in a cold sweat. Being a 27-year-old man, to be having a nightmare. It would be embarrassing to be caught like this. But when Arman looks at his body. One of his fingers has decay to nothing. Only thing left were the ashes of his finger. His scream couldn't be heard throughout the castle. His silent scream did make him realize something. His terror of the unknown.
Arman being concern, go to his younger brother for counsel. Arman brother, Ari, while young, was the wisest of all of Arne's children. His genius at a young age and his action speaks the most of this truth. He once saves a man and his wife from death by swaying his father and council with his words. His words and judgements would earn him a seat at his father's council at age 13.
Arman ask some of the maids where his brother had gone. The say he is where he feels the safest. Arman head west of the castle to a cave. He enters it and see his brother. He is facing a stone carving of ancient people that live in this land long ago.
"I can never understand how one would feel safe here." "This place is the thing that is left standing. One would feel safe if there is an unmoving shield covering them," said Ari. "Maybe it's cause I'm a fool, but I still can't understand."
"When you face true terror brother, maybe then you understand better." "Well, I think that day has come to pass sooner than we expected."
Ari turn around to his brother and look him in the eye. He has this questioning look on his face. He can't hide his surprise when he looks at his missing finger.
"What has happened brother. Your finger is gone, and you look like you've seen a ghost," said Ari. "I think I've seen something must worse." "Now go on with it. You might not have long if your finger is anything to go by."
Arman explain his dream to his brother. Fear never leaving from his voice. He then tells of how he woke up to his finger turning to ash.
"That's a lot to process but I think this could been a vision," said Ari. "But that's impossible. I have never been given a vision before." "People in our family have had visions before. Like our mad uncle, who supposed visions led to his death."
"But he was just insane. There's no way he was actually seeing visions." "He could have, nobody knows but him. You also saw him in your dream, right?" "Yes, but that could be mean anything. I trust your words brother, but don't you think this is a little unbelievable."
"It might be to most people, but you know this is real. Otherwise, you wouldn't have come to me. Your pride wouldn't allow you to. This is your fear overpowering your pride. I think you should listen to it but not too much to be control by that fear."
"So, what should we do." "Call a council meeting of your most trusted. We will discuss with them on the matter. It is unwise to leave the fate of destiny finish base one man's word." "You truly are the wisest of us all brother."
Arman and Ari go their separate ways to collect trusted allies. Two days past and 10 people meet in a room with a hexagon table. Four of the people share similarities. They have dark brown hair with golden eyes and teeth marks on their person.
Arman is wearing his cloak and traveling clothes. His short sleeve shirt leaves the teeth marks on the under part of his arm expose. Ari is wearing his beloved armor. His teeth marks are on his neck. The woman are Garcia and Leona Heroux. The other two children of Lord Arne. Both wear beautiful gray dresses and shoes. Garcia has a teeth part on her left leg. Leona has a teeth mark on her right leg.
The 6 other people were Arman best friend Egon Steelshell, Egon wife Amelia, and 4 of Ari most trusted followers. They only shared their letters instead of names. They said they abandoned them to live this new life. Their letters were A, S, H, and J.
So, the council meeting began. Ari start to explain Arman dream to the rest of them. They all had a shock look on their faces. "Don't tell me your going mad brother," said Leona. "Don't worry sister, I'm still sane at the moment." "What did they mean by we are your doom and justice," said Egon." "I have no idea but what I do know is that this house will fall if we don't heed this warning." "How can you be so sure this is something to be worried about and not just insanity happening to you," said Garcia.
"Look me in the eyes sister and tell me, do you see a mad man or a man full of fear." "You've never admitted to being afraid before. All I see is fear and a little courage hiding behind that fear," said Garcia. "So do you believe me now sister."
Before Leona could answer, Ari interrupts with "It doesn't matter if anyone believes you or not. What matters is the action that we take to this vision of yours. Believing in each other is good and everything but that's not the urgent issue. Do all of you understand that."
The 8 other people nod their heads.
"Well now that you all understand, lay your wisdom on the floor," said Ari. "Well first I think we need to understand the crimes this house has supposedly committed," said Amelia.
"WE HAVE COMMITED NO CRIMES OR HEINOUS ACT AGAINST ANYONE. HOW DARE YOU TRY TO PLACE SUCH ACCUSATIONS ON US" yelled Arman.
"Calm down Arman, she means that whoever this unknown threat is accusing us. So, we should figure out what they trying to accuse us of," said Ari. "There is the rageful and rash brother I know and love," said Leona. "Nows not the time to be playing around dear sister," said Garcia.
"Anyone else have any other ideas," said Ari. H speaks up. "I think since this is a vision, we are talking about a crime not yet committed." "That would make sense, but we could never prevent that," said Leona.
"Exactly, so we are facing a threat that either can see the future or they are in the future," said Ari. "We may never know when they come. If they come at all," said S.
"If they don't come then we have avoided this future crime that they accused us of. And we can laugh about this later. But if they do come, then we should be ready," said Arman.
"But what can we do against an army of the dead and an unknown enemy," said Garcia. "We can raise an army that can fight against any world threats. This is a magical continent after all," said Arman. "Do you think yourself foolishness enough to try to rule them all brother," said Ari.
"I may be a fool brother but I'm a fool who has the wisest of the wise by his side." "You flatter me with your words but even I won't be enough to take control of this entire continent."
"Of course not, the whole council shall help me. I declare today, the beginning my conquest of Ashemania and as the Lord of the Fang Vale and head of the house of Heroux, I request your help in this matter."
"I might as well help since I spark this conquest from my words," said Ari
"We're family so of course I'm going to help you," said Garcia.
"As long as I get some action, I'll help you," said Leona.
S, H, A, and J say, "We will follow Sir Ari wherever he goes."
"Then it's decided. This council meeting is adjourned, and we are preparing for conquest."
