Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Hidden Secrets

I still remember that day,

Exactly on "5th August, 2007" something appalling happened. Was that a nightmare? Well that's when it all started.

5th July 2017, I was 17 and was about to turn 18 in few months. I used to had nightmares since I was 10, that caused nyctophobia in me. I couldn't sleep at night or in the dark, even in the morning I could only sleep in bright light. I was too scared of those dreadful nightmares.

But the thing is that they were always about the same, number of  weird spirits, or what else can I say "demans", actually calling me towards them and saying the same thing "you belongs to us" what does that even mean? Was I possessed? Whenever I talked about that to my parents, they always told me off saying "it's just a nightmare" and that "it doesn't mean anything don't think about it alot" but It was engraved on their faces that they were hiding something, I could hear their voice crumbling out of fear and worries. I was afraid of myself so I tried to stay away from my little brother Niall, so that I couldn't harm him in any way. My mom used to spend most of her time with me. The only times we were not together  was when I used to be in college. I used to go in evening classes as I use to sleep in morning. But sometimes I also slept in my classroom.

My dad was always away from home busy doing something,I only use to see him twice a year, which I know was somehow related to me, but whenever I try to discuss he avoid it. whenever we met he always had an expression of feeling sorry to me. It seemed like he wants to apologize for something, but what?

One day me and Niall were playing in the loan of our house, him running and me chasing him, it was all good until he hitted a rock and fell on the ground.

It was because when he fell we saw a door on the ground which we were curious to open but it was locked, so we quickly rushed to our mom shouting out loud " mom mom come here, we found something" we took mom to show her the door, but she didn't seemed surprised at all. Instead, she told us to stay away from that door. Niall was always curious about that place, but I was never because I preferred to stay away from trouble,as I was already in a dreadful situation. But after sometime I found some information about that basement, like there were some stairs down there or that it's extremely dark there, but I still didn't knew much about it, to make any guesses. I had also seen dad going their often with some stuff covered with cloth. That was the time when I felt curious about that place, because I thought that it was somehow related to my nightmares. And I always wanted to know the reason why I was like that, and with time as I was getting close to turn 18, the fear was getting worse. I could feel spirits all around me even when I was fully awake
