Chapter 216: Battle Of Southeast Tod (Part 2)
Raptu's perspective
After causing the death of the enemy General, I made up this decision, eh?
I was riding my tiger Sibara, leading the way while we were in the battle against the Attenta regiment. While riding my tiger toward them, my men from behind also kept up with me, from behind me to alongside my tiger. Suddenly, the enemy archers from afar could be seen forming their formation. Knowing something bad was about to happen, I observed them closely and saw they were raising their bows.
"Split up!". - I roared to the FBA warriors, asking them to divert their formation
Many of us diverted. I diverted to the left side but kept moving forward, so did the other warriors. Though they either moved to the right or the left to follow me. Running for a while, I spotted many arrows flying toward us. I immediately formed a large earth shield by using earth magic, hoping it would block the arrows.
"Spurt! Spurt! Spurt! Spurt!". "Spurt! Spurt! Spurt! Spurt!". - Many arrows could be seen hitting my earth shield, I managed to stop them all
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - After stopping the arrows, I turned off my earth shield and the previous arrows fell on the ground
"Kill 'em!". "Kill that guy!". - When I had time to realize, that was the time I noticed my pet was running along an enemy spearmen line
"Raise your spears!". "You're dead, motherfucker!". "Arrrrrggghhhhhhhhh!". - The Attenta spearmen yelled at my incoming tiger while stepping close to each other, pointing their long spears out, attempting to kill me
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". "Slams!!!!!!". - I used my force and threw the bag at the enemy spearmen, many of them had been crushed to death by that heavy bag
After getting crushed by the bag, many scorpions could be seen crawling out from the bag to eliminate the enemy. Even though some of them died after being thrown into the ground... the plan still worked well. When the bag was thrown on the ground, many parts of its cloths were scratched... our insects would follow those routes to get out.
"Ahhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhhh!". - The other bags were thrown by the FBA tigermen, roaches and snakes had now joined the battle
"Kill them all!". "Yarrrrghh!". "You're fucking dead!". - Shortly in front of me was a bunch of Attenta soldiers who looked like farmers
These enemy soldiers could be the result of the fast time training. These men were not well trained according to me. They were just holding things like long sickles, hoes, pickaxes... just farmer's tools. Poor these drafted soldiers... they could not see their families again. But I didn't care about them at all... I must kill 'em all! For Eris!
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!". - When I was about to reach the Attenta farmer soldiers, I raised my palm out, causing some fire on their soldiers
"Ahhhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhhh!". - These soldiers didn't get access to magic, but I did... however, I must save it since I could lose my consciousness if I use magic too much
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - Charging my Sibara tiger at the farmer soldiers, I raised my sword out
"Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhhhh!". - Those farmers slowly turned into lost upper-body corpses since my sword splashed them every time my tiger went by
"Ahhhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh!". - After slashing a few enemies, my tigermen and I jumped through a small formation of theirs
"Return!". - Giving the order to them, we shortly rode back to our regiment
We shortly stopped charging at the enemy. Now we were heading back to our Regiment, hoping would not be attacked from behind. Suddenly, a bunch of arrows flew above us, they almost hit me and my tigermen. Luckily, most of the arrows I saw during my ride hit the ground. When I realized the things before me, that was my Tiger regiment. The FBA warrior spearmen were the lead group, they were in front of me, must jump through!
When we were near the FBA warrior spearmen, we jumped our tigers through them and got inside, in the safe zone. Just like that, I rode Sibara till we headed to the green crates' position, then I dismounted him slowly.
"We got men down!". "Move move! Healers! Healers!". - All of sudden, I was startled when I heard some voices say our side had the wounded
When I turned in the direction of the voices, I realized it. Some tigermen who joined me in the previous charge could be seen having arrows on their backs and their shoulders... even their forearms had some too. Seeing the wounded warriors, the FBA redhead bands warriors fastly carried them to the last line of the formation. In there, they started pulling out white cloths and plants in their handbags, attempting to save the wounded warriors.
The wounded warriors were now being taken care of. The tigermen who were not wounded, now were running toward the green crates to take out more bags. I also ran straight to the crates and grabbed a bag, this one stored roaches inside, seemed good. Finished grabbing the bag, I mounted Sibara, attempting to charge at the Attenta enemy once again. However, when I got to the line of the FBA spearmen, many enemy horsemen could be seen rushing to us from afar.
"Set tight your formation!". - Tapa, my brother who was mounting his tiger, ordered the FBA warrior spearmen to hold their formation tightly
Our spearmen started standing close to each other in a long horizontal line. They pointed their long bamboo spears out, some units pointed them forward while some pointed them higher above.
"Archers team, take point!". - The FBA warrior archers shortly led the formation, they stood in a long horizontal line while pointing their bows out
"Spurt! Spurt! Spurt! Spurt!". "Spurt! Spurt! Spurt! Spurt!". - A rain arrow could be seen flying straight toward the enemy horsemen
Taking the arrow attack, the Attenta horsemen had taken big casualties. Their horsemen, either were falling from their horseback after taking the shots, or died while still on their horses. However, the horsemen groups which were heavily armored were still riding toward us despite being hit by dozens of arrows.
The archers fastly retreated. They stepped behind the FBA warrior spearmen, standing while reloading their bows, waiting for the next rain arrow. This time was the turn of the FBA spearmen. They were waiting for the incoming enemy horsemen, patiently calmed. The Attenta horsemen kept charging at us powerfully from afar. Their horses' steps could be heard sounding loudly, they were about to face the long lines of spears.
"Ahhhhhhh!". "Yarrrrghh!". - Screamings and stabbings sounded non-stop as their horses encountered the spears
The Attenta heavy armored horsemen were struggling since they were stuck with the spears. Due to the fast speed while charging at us by horses, those horsemen were either been stabbed to death, or wounded and were dying slowly. Their blood kept draining out and wetted the spear lines, even making our young warriors terrified.
"Urrrrrgggghhhh!". "Arrrrghhh!". "Arrrrghhh!". - Some of their horsemen weren't stabbed by the spears but fell from their horseback
"Kill them! Kill them!". - Some FBA spearmen were ordered to step out to drag those wounded enemy horsemen back on the line
After dragging them back, those horsemen's belongings, from their weapons to their armors, had been stripped off. Our guys seemed to want to ask the enemy soldiers to surrender... I hate it but... I would... leave it there. The Attenta enemy had now stopped attacking us but changed to defend their lines or something. The next horsemen wave was supposed to happen previously since a lot of their cavalrymen were seen standing from afar.
However, now the enemy retreated their troops and their horsemen had stayed behind the others. When we were thinking about the next plan, a lot of sharp things that looked like arrows could be seen flying to our position. Knowing the situation was dangerous, our FBA warriors had formed their shields, covering their heads. About me, I had no shields so I lay on the ground, putting the bag down, staying behind it.
"Rain arrows incoming!". "Tortoise formation, now!". - My brother ordered the FBA warriors to stick together, forming their shields from 5 sides to defend themselves
Hearing his order, the warrior units stood close to each other. They formed their shields from forward, left side, right side, behind and even above them to make the tightest defensive formation. Meanwhile, the medic warriors stayed behind the crates alongside the wounded warriors and the enemy horsemen. The tigers of the tigermen were also been protected by the individuals who could use earth magic element, they were forming many earth shields.
"Siba, get here!". - I ordered Sibara to come, he later lay o the ground nearby me
I made an earth shield and put it above my pet to cover him. Later I looked up at the sky. Knowing the rain arrow was about to get me, I lowered my body as low as possible, behind the bag.
"Bup! Bup! Bup! Bup! Bup!". - Not so long later, many arrows hit the ground, some were about to hit me
When the rain arrow got away, I looked up to check on my regiment. As I could see, the warriors who joined the tortoise formation seemed to be alright, no wounds at all. However, some of their shields had been penetrated by the enemy's arrows. Because our Army was poorly equipped... or I'd say we used to equip simple things, not too much depend on them but our strength. At least... no one of them was wounded, that was a good sign, I could tell.
"Arrrrghhh...!". "Healers...". - Some of our FBA spearmen were wounded by the arrows, they slowly removed and threw the arrows away
"There!". "We'll attack after that strike is made, people!". - My brother Tapa pointed to the sky, telling us another bombing from the eagle platoon was about to be made
"Let's move, Sibara!". - I jumped on my tiger and rode him toward the FBA spearmen, attempting to head to the enemy line
"Raptu, what the hell?!". "Stop! St-".
My tiger jumped through the FBA spearmen's line. Later I rode, attempting to move to the Attenta enemy to make them have more casualties. While moving to the enemy line, I could see the V line of eaglemen flying in the sky. Their feet were carrying wooden logs and big stones, they were about to low down to drop them. I kept moving to the enemy, later witnessed the "bombing" scene, even saw the enemy running after their formation was broken.
"Hmmmm...". - Little did I know, the bag I was holding, attempting to throw at the enemy had been hit by the arrows
Nothing special to say about it... except for the problem which was happening to me here. Some of the bag's cloth got shredded out a bit after getting hit by the arrows... roaches were crawling out from the holes, they crawled on my forearm.
These warrior pests had been left to get starved for a week, they wanted food... I hope they wouldn't bite me. Although throwing them at the enemy would not make much progress... at least these roaches were still useful when they could scare the Attenta soldiers, I thought so.
I returned to riding my tiger while seeing the enemy's forward formation was completely broken. The eaglemen had gone away after bombing the enemy, must be in a hurry to slay them.
"Kill her!". - When I was about to get near the enemy, the remaining spearmen pointed their spears at me
"Slams!!!". - I threw the bag at them, they were crushed to death while the cockroaches were running out of the bag
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - All of sudden, a bunch of spearmen from nowhere got in front of me, they were yelling while pointing their spears at me
"Urrrghhh!". "Retreat, Siba!". - I managed to stop my tiger on time, otherwise I would've died or been wounded helplessly when they stabbed me
I later diverted my tiger, attempting to return to my regiment. However, those long spears kept chasing me every time I dodged them while staying on my tigerback, it was so annoying. I was almost been surrounded by the enemy if I wasn't wise enough. They were acting like using their last breaths, attempting to kill me or something, it was hard to tell. Sitting tightly on my saddle, holding the rein, looking for a way out for myself. Seemed like I was completely separated from my regiment, I must fight or I'd die here when these spear waves kept coming to me.
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - I roared while raising my heavy sword to the enemy
"Arrrrrggghhhhhhhhh!". "Get out! Get out! Get out!". "Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - I yelled loudly while riding my tiger, slashing around, without knowing if I managed to hit anyone or not
"Haahhhhh! Haahhhhh! Hahhhhhh! Ahhhh!". "Urrrrrgggghhhh! Ahhh!". "Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - Slashing around, every time the spears come to me, I splashed them out, blocking the attacks, hoping to have a way out
"Urrrrrgggghh!". - Someone just hit my right shoulder, it had an arrow on it
"Don't fuck with me!". "Arrrrghhh! Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - I roared while riding my horse, slashing in every corner, despite being blind to my current situation
Slashing around for a while, my tiger managed to get out of the enemy line. Seeing my current situation was very positive, I was relieved after seeing I was still very alive. Hmmm... but as I could see, this direction did not lead to my regiment. In front of me was just a blank plain, widely forward... this direction wasn't the thing I wanted to go to, I must go back now!
I diverted my tiger, later realized a bunch of enemy soldiers was waiting for me on that side. Something wasn't right... why the tigermen unit wasn't here to save me?!
Also... where was the air support from the eagle platoon? They... left me here?
"Hahahaha...". "You're dead...". "Surrender... heh heh heh...". "Come on, heh heh...". - The enemy soldiers were approaching me while inspecting their weapons
"Sibara!". "Roars!!!!". - I ordered my tiger to roar at the Attenta soldiers
"Woahhhh!". "Oh fuck!". - After roaring, my tiger charged at the enemy, scaring them
"Slashes! Slashes! Slashes!". "Slashes! Slashes! Slashes!". "Slashes! Slashes! Slashes!".
"Hahhhhhh! Hahhhhhh! Hahhhhhh!". "Urrrrrgggghh!". "Haahhhhh!". "Arrrrrggghhhhhhhhh!". - Despite being exhausted and sweating a lot, I kept swinging my heavy great sword while on tigerback
It was my fault for thinking about this stupid decision. I was exhausted 'cause of wasting my energy slashing the enemies who I could not tell if were being slashed in this blind situation or not. Fighting my exhaustion, I kept slashing the Attenta soldiers till I realized something new for me to know. I was scared of dying, so did the enemy. They were dodging, staying away from my sword's slashes but not staying or surrounding me, or pointing their spears at me at all.
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - Roaring as loud as possible while slashing the enemy, I thought about Eris... if I die here, would I return to her?
"Urrrrrgggghh!". "Arrrrrggghhhhhhhhh!". - While slashing at them, one enemy managed to stray my right cheek... but I kept standing still to slash 'em
"Ahhh! Hahahaha!". "Hahahaha! Hahahaha!". - After a short time struggling against them, finally I got out of their line
This time I could see my regiment from afar. I held the rein tightly while asking Sibara to speed up as fast as possible to return to get rescued. Despite being distant from my regiment, I hope I could return to them soon, to rejoin the battle.
I must survive... no matter how... I must survive till the end of this fucking shitty war. Eris must've protected me earlier. She saved me from those surrounding enemies. Instead of thinking about dying with Eris, I must survive even if I could not be with her anymore. I must survive, no matter how!
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". - All of sudden, when I realized what was happening around me, a bunch of Attenta horsemen was alongside me
"What do you want?!". "Urrrrrgggghh! Yarrrrghh!". - Instead of encountering me by using spears, they drew out their swords, surrounding my tiger
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". "Slams!!!". - One tried to slash me on the left side, I swung my sword and he died instantly
"Stop fucking with me!". "Slashes! Slashes! Slashes!". - I slashed two other ones who were riding their horses near me, but they dodged before my sword hit 'em
"Gotcha!". "Urrrrrgggghh!". - One ran his long spear at me, I grabbed the spear's pointy tip, got bled but I didn't care!
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - I yelled while throwing that horseman and his spear away
"Keng!". "Urrrrrgggghh!". - One on the right slashed me by using his sword, but I managed to block it, later slashed down from his neck, causing his instant death
"Urrrrrgggghh!". "Ahhhh!". - Someone just had stabbed my back with something, maybe a spear or a sword's blade, but I managed to stand still
"Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". "Slams!!!!". - Later that guy showed up, I slashed him, he died immediately
"Spurt! Spurt! Spurt! Spurt!". - The horseman running alongside me from the left suddenly casted out some fireballs, but they didn't hit me at all
"Slams!!!". - Encountering the ones who could use magic was very dangerous, I managed to slash his back, he fell from horseback, didn't know if he had died or not
After encountering those enemy horsemen, they suddenly separated from me instead of surrounding me to kill me. I didn't know what they were up to but temporarily ignored 'em and glanced at my regiment. According to my bloody vision, the FBA warriors had been attacked from the left side or something. They were busy defending themselves, now I was only on my own.
My distance from my regiment was about less than 200 meters. Must move on. While riding my Sibara tiger, my exhaustion kept rising instead of lowering. I need to rest, but I could only do that when I return to my team. When I returned to riding, a horseman who dressed like an enemy General suddenly charged at me. He was on horseback, fully armored and was riding opposite me.
"Second in command, huh?". - I squeezed my sword tightly while waiting for the momentum to slash him
The enemy General was pointing his long spear at me while riding his armored horse. Both of us were about to encounter each other. Because of that... I'd kill him in only a slash, very soon.
"Urrrrrgggghh...". - However, my hand was too exhausted to lift the heavy great sword
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - All of sudden, my right chest got stabbed by that long spear, it remained on my chest, spurting out blood
"Arrrrghhh...!". "Haaahhhh! Haahhhhh! Haahhhhh...!". - Slowly, I fell from my tigerback and pressed my face on the ground, painfully
"Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Fuck...!".
"Urrrrrgggghh...". "Urrrghhh". - This time I was on the ground, my mind was so hazy, I couldn't feel any energy left
I was lying on the ground, my vision was quite blurred so I could not describe well anything around me this time. However, I was sure that some Attenta soldiers were surrounding me. To be more right to say, those spearmen and archers were coming to me from afar, smiling widely while holding their weapons.
Lying on the ground, my ears were still working very well. I heard the horses' footsteps running around. Some were walking as if their drivers were observing me, thinking about what they should do next... I must... fight... fight...
I overturned my body, trying to get up but could not. Seeing that long spear was still sticking to my right side chest, I felt how depth it had stabbed inside my body previously. I slowly grabbed the spear's stick, squeezed it tightly, thinking about getting it out of my chest to re-fight. With my blurred and exhausted vision, I could see many enemy infantry soldiers heading here. Alongside them were the Attenta horsemen, they were running around me, as if thinking about doing something bad.
"Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Haahhhhh... haahhhhh...". - That was very painful, I couldn't pull it out that easily
"Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Umm...". - Not yet, I must pull the spear out by using all of my force
"Arrrrghhh...!". "Arrrrghhh...!". "Ahhhhhh!". "Ahhhh! Urrrrrgggghh...!". - Yes! It had been pulled out a bit now, must try more!
"Urrrrrgggghhhh!". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - Just a little bit more!
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". "Urrrrrgggghh... ahhh... ahhh". "Hahhhhhh... hahhhhhh... haahhhhh...". - A few moments of struggling, finally I managed to pull out the entire spear
"Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Fuck...!". - I dropped the spear away, later put my right forearm on the ground, using it as the momentum for me to get up
"Urrrrrgggghh...!". "Hahhh". - Despite standing up successfully, I could not do that properly but still lowering my body
After standing up, I saw myself surrounded by the enemy horsemen. They were running their horses around me while pointing their spears at me, dangerously. During the situation, I looked around to find my dropped weapon. Later found Sibara lying on the ground with many spears sticking to his body... my pet had died in front of me, what the fuck?!
"Get the fuck out of here!". - I yelled at the Attenta horsemen while looking around to find my sword
Shortly I found it. My heavy great sword was lying on the ground, on the right side. Seeing my weapon, I approached it weakly while the enemy horsemen kept following me without stopping. When I reached for my sword, I was about to grab it but a spear ran straight at me.
"Urrrrrgggghh!". "Arrrrghhh!". - I grabbed the spear's head, attempting to pull the horseman down
"Fuck! Get off me!". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - However, the other spears kept running toward me, one hit my right foot, I was mad because of it
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - After getting pissed off, I pulled the spear down, later swung it around to hit other horsemen, made them flee
"Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Yarrrrghhhhhhhhhh!". "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!". "Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhhh!". - When they fled, I used that spear to smash the horseman's face I used to pull down earlier
After killing that downed horseman, I approached my weapon. This sword very easily to be lifted by me. However, this time it was 10 times heavier due to my exhaustion, but I'd use this thing to crush the enemy.
After lifting the sword up, I realized the enemy infantry soldiers were approaching me... this time they were always from me about 50 meters. While glancing at the enemy, I also noticed that the previous horsemen were now running toward me with spears in their hands.
"Arrrrrggghhhh!". "Slams!!!". - Waiting for one to come close, I shortly lowered my body and cut the incoming horse's legs, making the guy fall
"Ahhh!". - Another incoming horseman, I grabbed his incoming spear, pulled the guy down, made him get wounded heavily
"No, p-". "Slams!!!!". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". - The first one who fell from horseback had his upper body smashed when I slammed my sword down to his position
"Please please pleas-". "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!". "Slams!!!!". - The other guy, his head had been smashed terribly... I was so tired!
After eliminating two horsemen, the enemy General finally showed up. He was fully armored, was now running his horse toward me while raising his great sword to the right side. This General was attempting to cut me in half by using his horse's high-speed, huh...?
Waiting for his arrival, I raised my heavy great sword highly above, intending to finish him in a strike.
"Slams!!!!!". - When his horse came, I slammed my sword down, resulting in cutting himself and his horse in half, in the direction that I used to slash them
After killing all of them, my body was covered in blood. Around me was just blood and dead fleshes, draining the hot, fresh blood from the ones I killed. While putting the sword's blade to my shoulder, I heard worried sounds behind me. Turned out they were the Attenta infantry soldiers, they were all scared after seeing their second General being slashed in half.
Those soldiers were all terrified of me. They were stepping back while standing beside each other, pointing their spears or bows at me with their nervous faces. Suddenly, I felt too exhausted, just wanted to rest... now I couldn't stand still anymore, no longer. Hmmm... ahh...!
When I thought my consciousness was about to lose, I looked up at the sky since I heard something. When I looked up, a big V line formation of the eagle platoon could be seen, dozens of them were lowering down here. Slowly their spiky feet dropped those logs and stones, attempting to bomb the enemy. Before I could see anything touch the ground, I accidentally fell... my mind was very hazy, I could not open my eyes... urghh...

My head felt very hurt right now. Somehow I felt I was lying somewhere, everything was so quiet, never faced this before. However, I could feel the pain I had was reducing. My pain was reducing although it was still in pain. Thinking myself was still alive, I tried to open my eyes, later my blurred vision showed me that I was still very alive, I was glad!
However, I was somewhere else. Looking at the environment around me for a while, I was sure this environment was still in Tod forest... just... somehow it was not in my previous place. Knowing I need more answers, I looked around and realized my entire body was fully bandaged. My hands, my chest, etc... were all bandaged in white cloths.
Knowing something strange had happened to me and my regiment, I tried to move, to sound. However, doing all of those things was useless since I tried to move so fast while my body was wounded. This time, I looked around once again. Later spotted many tigers walking alongside the wounded FBA warriors. Seeing their pets were still alive despite having wounds, I also looked around to find Sibara. However, it didn't end well, I was fully depressed.
But I managed to hold my emotions and re-looked at the people who were carrying us. Those who were wounded were currently carried by the hammocks. The soldiers in dark yellow armors were holding the hammocks, carrying the unmovable wounded to go on the way. Doing my best, I tried to reach a yellow armored soldier in front of me. Shortly managed to pull his sleeves, I was very glad when the guy turned around to glance at me.
"Guys, we have the woke up one". "You alright...?". - According to his voice, I could see he was less than 25, his helmet had covered his face, could not tell it well
"Nod... nod...". "Who are... you?". "These people...?".
"Ahhh...". "Well... we're the medics, are now carrying y'all back to Veta for the treatment". "Don't worry, the way back to Veta is near, less than 3 hours left to get there".
"But... who are you exactly?".
"We're from Jager, camping nearby here in case for backup". "Your place was overrun by the enemy, your leader called us out to help". - These yellow armored soldiers were from Jager Kingdom...? Our allied?
"Well, don't worry". "The situation there has been settled down a little bit now". "We got pushed back 'cause they were too many". "But don't worry, we don't have many casualties, but they do".
Speaking to me for a while, that young Jager medic soldier stopped it and worked on his duty. The soldiers shortly carried the hammocks through the way forward which was full, dense of trees. Bringing the wounded for a while, these Jager soldiers shortly lowered the hammocks. In front of us was a nice river, maybe these men wanted to rest here for a while, purposing to take some water or have a break.
The Jager medic soldiers shortly approached the river to take some water while our wounded beastmen were resting. After waiting for them for a short time, the young soldier earlier returned to me, he slowly opened my mouth and poured the water in gently.
"Take it easy... easy...". "Here you go, man... alright...".
"Drinks... drinks... drinks...". - After drinking the water he poured to me for a moment, my throat felt it was much better
"Uhhh... thanks...". - I thanked the young soldier and saw he drank the water bag which he used to pour into me earlier
"Uhh... nothing". "In hard time, especially time like this, we must help each other". - After drinking, he put the bag on his belt, later checked on my bandaged wounds
"What happened to the others?". "I meant... to the remaining troops of ours...?". - Now I was quite worried about my brother's situation
"They're now alongside our backup guys, no need to worry about...". "Well, I said we were pushed back but honestly, the hostile also did the same". "Tch... just some crazy ran straight to 'em in the previous fight, now they don't dare to charge at the beastmen anymore...". "Well... only defend, that's all I can tell ya". - Maybe he was saying about me
Finished speaking to me, that young soldier later only focused on checking on my wounds. So did the other Jager medic soldiers, they were also doing their best. After finishing checking our wounds, these men started moving out. They carried the hammocks and instructed the walkable wounded FBA warriors to follow the forest route they pointed to.
While being escorted by the medic soldiers to return to Veta, I could feel the silence in the forest. Since this area didn't have any battles, it was so silent to me, very silent. Could only hear the walkings and the talkings of the people. When I had time for myself to get silent, I remembered Eris and Sibara. My love died... and now my pet died during the battle. My tears kept coming out, I tried to hold my sobbing but could only do that a little bit, not completely.
I cried while looking at the sky, wishing hopelessly, praying for the help of the Goddess. That was painful since the dead could not be resurrected, and was more painful when those dead people were the ones who I love, that was very terrible. Sobbing for a while, I realized not just me was the only one who cries. The other beastmen warriors also crying like me, they just simply held their tears longer, better than me.
The Jager medic soldiers while carrying us, they kept silent without a reason. Being curious, I looked around closely, later realized that the beastmen warriors who were on the other hammocks had ended up breathing since when. Our beastmen kept sobbing while on our way returning to Veta. The Jager medic soldiers shortly stopped traveling, they put us down and sat beside us, staying silent.
"Ummm... I lost my ma... yesterday...". "This morning... I lost my brother...". "Sobs...". - The young soldier who used to speak with me was now also sobbing
Sobbing for a moment, we tried to stop sounding to keep moving forward. However, when we were about to stop it, the sky all of sudden, appeared the eaglemen flying in the V line horizontally. They seemed to be carrying big stones and wooden logs once again. Till this time, that platoon was still assisting my regiment, I was glad to see it.
"Some enemies... diverted...". "They headed to the southwest". - So he meant... those eagle warriors were on their way to eliminating the running enemies?
Despite knowing his explanation, I kept pointing my eyes to the sky, waiting for the eaglemen's return. Not so long later, those eaglemen had finished bombing the enemies, they flew back to the direction they used to fly to. Just like that, they returned to their tight V line horizontal formation. Shortly flew to the north, attempting to return to No Man Zone, to rearm.
After observing the eaglemen, the Jager medic soldiers returned to do their work. They lifted up the hammocks once again, attempting to move our wounded men to the safe zone as fast as possible. These men and our beastmen stopped crying, we later moved toward the jungle road ahead, to Veta region.
