Chapter 1 - Re...ck...on...ing

You hear the voice repeating the same word, over and over and over. You look for more than a moment, before returning your gaze to your feet.

"It's arrived." you think, in a nervous tone.

You scramble to your feet, trying to make sure to not fall at the same time. You silently walks to the window that is just to the right of your bed.

You look out of the window past your curtain. A black aura covers the sky. People are being killed out of nowhere. Seemingly as if struck by invisible lightning. You want to go help those outside, but what if you die to the same fate if you do?

You fight your mind away, before sitting down at your desk. You pull out a journal and a pencil.

"

It's here. What we have always been afraid of has arrived, and I'm unsure if I'll survive this, so I should just make my introduction one last time. My name is Ryuta Koichi. At the time of writing this letter, I am 25 years old, and male. I had, and still have the same brown hair and glasses I've had since I was 16, and have never had any intention of changing it. This message was written in an apartment building in downtown Tokyo. The address is, *REDACTED*. I am mentioning that, in the case that this letter ends up somewhere far away."

You sharpen your pencil once more before writing again.

"The reckoning has arrived. I prefer to simply call it death. It has been rumored among friends, family, and people around Tokyo that this would happen soon, and it's happening now. I was simply hoping I would have died long before it arrived, but it seems I was much too late. An Army of Darkness blots the sky black, and humans are dying left and right, almost immediately, when they're outside. I'm debating on whether to join them, as if I don't, I may be the only human left alive. Please. Heed this warning, and....be careful of the dark.

Signed, Ryouta Koichi, 0x/0x/2xxx.

"

You sigh, and lean back into your wooden chair.

"There isn't much hope now it seems. I just hope someone will see that message someday." you say, woefully.

You put on your shoes, and open your door.

You take a step forward.
