Chapter 5 - Preperation

"It isn't 'our' army...It's Mine." He said with an uncanny smile upon his lips.

I paused for a moment, feeling uneasy at the possessiveness in his tone. But I decided to ignore his words and moved out of the cabin. The sun was setting, casting long shadows on the ground. Despite the tension in the air, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the beauty of the sunset. The orange and red hues of the sky mixed together in perfect harmony, creating a sense of peace that I desperately craved.

So calm...

To be honest, I can't even remember the last time I felt at peace.

As I walked towards my cabin, I couldn't help but feel that something was off. A sense of unease stirred in my stomach. As I looked down, I noticed the dried-up blood of the raiders stained my hands, reminding me of the violence that had taken place earlier that day.

Am I really free ?

I thought to myself, wondering if I would ever be able to leave this place behind. After moments, which felt like hours of staring at my hands, I let out a sigh and moved on.

I reached my shed, opening the door to deathly silence. "Home sweet home, huh." i said to myself. A small smile played at the corners of my lips as I laid down on the elevated surface above the floor. The dark and grim ceiling above me seemed to swallow me up, and I felt like I was lost in its darkness. It was a familiar feeling, one that I had grown accustomed to over the years.

"Hah! Who am I even kidding. I hate this fucking place." I muttered to myself before falling asleep.

But my rest was short-lived. Suddenly, I found myself standing in the middle of a snowstorm, naked and vulnerable. The biting cold penetrated my skin, making me feel sick to my stomach.

"You. You have to be the one!" A voice shouted from far away.

"Huh? Who's there?" I called out, but my voice was muffled by the wind.

"Leviathan! You have to be the one, to kill the Enchantress." The figure continued, standing far away in the midst of the snowstorm.

The words hit me like a ton of bricks, and I couldn't comprehend what they meant. How do they know about this Enchantress, and why did I have to be the one to kill her? But as I started to move towards the figure, I realized it didn't make a difference. No matter how far I moved, I couldn't close the distance between us.

Before I could do anything else, the figure vanished into the snow, leaving me feeling disoriented and confused.

"What the-" I started to say, but suddenly, I found myself falling down a ditch, descending deeper and deeper into darkness. The helplessness I felt was overwhelming, and I struggled to catch my breath.

Suddenly, my body jerked awake, and I found myself covered in sweat. It took me a moment to realize that it had all been a dream. I let out a deep sigh of relief, almost grateful that it was over.

I looked out the gap between the walls of my cabin, and I could see the first rays of sunlight peeking over the horizon. But the words of the voice still lingered in my mind, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to change.

Nonetheless, I got up from my resting place, and stretched out my muscles, and got my weapons ready. After all, today was the day that I had to Kill the Enchantress.
