The moon was ascending the sky illuminated under sunset near the valley. The chilly dusk breeze seemed to be a blessing for lovers to have an excuse of sticking together for warmth. Excluding from the beauty of it, where the anguish of someone's pain had painted a dark cloud, a girl was lancing her heart with a butchered knife tearing her lover's smile.
She traipsed up the hill with lifeless pearls.
Standing at the top of suicidal point of Kalpa, India, she was ready to give up.
"I was not supposed to fall in love with him. It was not supposed to be happened and then end like this."
"Why god? why? why did it happen to me?"
Her crimson hands hitting the furnished floor repeatedly in a brutal manner stopped at last, bangles splitting open the veins of palm, gore and demise dwarfing the air.
"Why my fate made him come into my life?"
"If this were to be end like this, then why did you let me fall for him?"
"ANSWER ME, DAMN IT!" She yelled with her broken cries looking at the sky as if God would come out any second to solve her life puzzle.
"Had I let my walls down for him, no?",
She fell down on her knees, air coming out in gasps long and heartbreaking, cursing that ill-fated day when she was fooled by him in the name of love.
June 05 2018 , (past).......
The city of Venice was flooded with ever-growing population, roads were jammed with traffic and everyone following up the daily schedule of one's routine laid nonchalant.
Unbothered by it, she was sleeping soundly on her comfy wheezing bed when the buzzing ringtone of a cell phone broke through the room. Half-way in sleep, she hazily opened her choco-brown eyes, glancing at the screen displaying 8'o clock, Monday, fell back again in deep slumber.
A few hours later, swiftly moving off the bed, hurrying in the bathroom, she got ready for her day-shift. Today, she had a gnawing feeling in her chest that something strange was lamenting in the brooding silence.
"Oh shit! Her interview with the company of Damein Clark , the top multi-billionaire hyping up the industry bullet paced!"
"Shit! Shit! Shit! I forgot! I totally forgot it!"
"No! No! No! What should I do?" She started pacing back and forth biting her fingernails in the process.
She has been waiting for this day for the past 2 years and in the end she finally got the interview only to let it be spoiled by her laziness. If time could be reversed, she would hit herself the moment clock sprung into action.
She desperately needed it at this time. Her expenses were barely hanging at the bottom line and all the savings from previous job accumulated to null in comparison to the cost. There the girls were so full of sarcasm and bitchy nature that she couldn't stay a single second more or the police might have come knocking at her door the next day. Especially, to let it slide that the owner ....
"Leave it! Leave it! Uggghhh. I seriously need a drink right now." She cried banging her head on the side wall.
She jolted upwards with a shriek, suddenly remembering she had one more job to do. Dashing out the door as if her ass was on fire, she ran with her boots flying off the ground, leaving dark eddies behind..
The dress she decided to wear was something formal, a white tank top tucked under a matching black pencil skirt with loose curls cascading down sleekly. She had collected all the official documents just in case. The drive to the building was a blur in her mind.
Arriving precisely on time, she rushed inside the building. As other people headed towards the reception, she nodded at the same lady behind the counter like everyday and stepped in the elevator, face masked in a neutral composed complexion. Although her insides were melting in puddles through jitters of a missing interview and an uneasy feeling arising in chest. Her mind was calculating.
"Mam, I have an appointment with Damein clark here scheduled at 10 am and due to some emerg…..." A plan was already brewing in her mind when the 20th floor arrived. On hearing the ding, she exited out cautiously, locating the new head office when a hard body collided with hers. She lost her balance with the intrusion, being caught off-guard and almost hit the floor performing an uncordial pirouette with hairs flying mid-air. If not for the arms that snaked around her waist tightly, she was done for!
Opening her left eye, she squinted at the bright light and met with the most gorgeous pair of hazel orbs. An involuntary cough from someone a little far away broke the intense heated collusion of two locked gazes.
Springing apart reluctantly in a daze, they both straightened up. Diverting her gaze towards the intruder, she sobered up at that exact instant.
