Chapter 20 - The Investigation

Chapter 20

High-Captain Andy surveyed the room, making sure that all the captains were present before he began. It was a crucial situation, and he needed all the input he could get from the other captains. Vice-Captain Agripa, Uno, Primo, Isa, Almong, Howl, Captain Wogwen – West and South Side Defensive Captain, Captain Enero - North and East Side Defensive Captain, Captain Akari – Port of Adeady Captain, Captain Ameri and Captain Angela were all present in the meeting room.

"I called everyone as per the current issue happening on the two members of my squad who are going to participate in the rankings of Fortran's Division," High-Captain Andy said, his tone serious. "Captain Angela was the one who witnessed the happenings followed by Captain Wogwen and Captain Ameri."

He took a deep breath before continuing. "As you all know, Deimytr and Whystry suffered memory loss after being exposed to a strange light. They claimed that they are our sons and that they didn't do anything wrong. They also claimed that the humans are our friends and that they didn't annihilate them."

"Did anyone recognize the runes that appeared in their eyes?" Captain Angela asked, her brows furrowed.

"No one did," High-Captain Andy replied. "But we need to investigate their background to know if they are telling the truth or not. Captain Enero, I will leave the background check to you."

"Understood, High-Captain," Captain Enero nodded.

"We need to stay alert and keep an eye on them. We can't afford to have any dangerous scenario happening on the island," High-Captain Andy said, his eyes scanning the room. "We also need to guide them to improve their skills for the upcoming rankings."

The captains agreed and nodded in unison. After a few more minutes of discussion, they began to leave the meeting room one by one. High-Captain Andy watched them go, feeling a sense of responsibility weighing heavily on his shoulders. This was just the beginning of what could be a long and dangerous journey.

Captain Enero paced around his quarters, deep in thought. Ada and Adi, two members of his squad, watched him closely, wondering what was going on in their captain's mind. Suddenly, Captain Enero shouted out, "Commander Zoey!"

Marso, another member of the squad, looked up from his book. "Isn't the Commander currently imprisoned in Vagamon?" he asked.

Captain Enero nodded. "Yes, I know," he said. "But I need to find out more about Deimyrt and Whystry. I'm considering sending some of you to Vagamon with me to investigate, but it's a dangerous area."

Ada and Adi exchanged glances, silently acknowledging the danger. Vagamon was known to be a treacherous place, filled with dangerous creatures and unpredictable terrain. But they trusted their captain and were willing to follow him into whatever danger lay ahead.

Marso spoke up, "I will go with you, Captain. We can use my skills to navigate the terrain and keep us safe."

Captain Enero nodded, "Alright then. Ada, Adi, you two stay here and maintain our defenses. Marso and I will depart for Vagamon tomorrow."

The squad members nodded in agreement, ready to do whatever it takes to uncover the truth about Deimyrt and Whystry. Captain Enero and Marso continued to discuss their plans for the journey ahead as they prepared for their dangerous mission.

High-Captain Andy sat on his comfortable chair as he was talking to Primo, Uno and Isa, his trusted squad members. They were discussing the upcoming rankings of Fortran's Division when Vice-Captain Agripa barged in with Almong and Howl.

"How are we going to train the other members of our squad?" Vice-Captain Agripa asked, looking troubled.

Almong, the strategist of the group, quickly responded, "Why don't we contact Vilbiss? He's a skilled trainer and he can help us improve our members."

High-Captain Andy shook his head. "We cannot contact Vilbiss and ask for help," he said firmly. "Vilbiss is one of the new Fortran Captains who will be participating in the rankings together with us. That means his squad will be our enemies in the rankings."

The group fell into a moment of silence before Uno broke it. "Does that mean our squad and Vilbiss's squad are the only new ones in Fortran?"

High-Captain Andy shook his head again. "No, there are also Ilings, Lay, Glide, and Cruzer's squads, but all Fortran Captains and squad members are strong. No ordinary Captains or squad members can defeat them."

Vice-Captain Agripa sighed. "So what should we do then?"

High-Captain Andy stood up from his chair, his eyes determined. "We'll just have to train harder and smarter than them. We can't let them beat us in the rankings. Our squad's honor is at stake."

Almong and Howl exchanged a glance before nodding in agreement. They were willing to do anything to help their captain and their squad succeed.

The next morning, the members of High-Captain Andy's Squad gathered in the spacious hall of their quarters. Raze Thundra, Helluza, and Arioja were also present in the room, their faces serious and determined. High-Captain Andy stood in front of them, his gaze sharp and commanding.

"All of you know the situation regarding Helluza and Arioja, right?" he began. "But we will disregard it for now, and instead, we will help each other grow and become honorable members of Nwar. Raze Thundra is also here because I believe this young man will be a Hytac and a member of Nwar in the future."

The room fell into a solemn silence, as everyone listened to their captain's words.

"We will be going to an unknown place where we will train, a place where we will encounter unknown creatures. Survival is a must, and we need to stay alert when we arrive. For now, get your things and exit through that door," High-Captain Andy finished, pointing to the door at the end of the hall.

The members of the squad nodded in unison, their faces filled with determination. They knew that this would not be an easy training, but they were ready for the challenge. They quickly gathered their things and followed their captain through the door, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

High-Captain Andy's squad members were assembled at the port of Adeady, waiting for their captain to arrive. As they waited, they noticed Captain Enero with Marso, Adi, and Ada standing nearby. Suddenly, High-Captain Andy arrived with his team members Vylar, Charles, and Hyacinth, and they were surprised to see Captain Enero and his team at the same port.

"Captain! Why are you here?" asked High-Captain Andy, puzzled by Captain Enero's sudden appearance.

"I am going to Vagamon to find and ask someone," replied Captain Enero.

"What a coincidence, my team is also going to Vagamon for training," High-Captain Andy said excitedly.

Captain Enero looked concerned and replied, "Isn't Vagamon too dangerous for your squad members, Andy? The terrain is treacherous and not suited for low-rank Hytacs."

High-Captain Andy laughed off Captain Enero's concern, "Nahh, it's okay. That's why we call it training. If someone dies, it means they are not capable of fighting others. BUT I HOPE NO ONE DIES IN MY SQUAD MEMBERS," he added, with a smirk.

High-Captain Andy knew that Vagamon was a dangerous place, but he wanted to prove to his team that they were strong enough to handle it. "Enough chitchat, let's go. It's far, and for now, we need to work as a team before we accomplish our main objectives at Vagamon."

As they were about to board their ship, four individuals wearing capes boarded as well, planning to sail to Vagamon. High-Captain Andy's team didn't disturb them and proceeded to the other side of the ship to rest and wait until they arrived at Vagamon. The journey would be long and dangerous, but they were determined to succeed.

The ship had been sailing for a week, with High-Captain Andy's squad and Captain Enero's team on board. They were on their way to Vagamon for training, and despite the long journey, they were all excited to begin. However, the sea suddenly became calm, and the ship stopped moving. The crew was confused and alarmed, and High-Captain Andy and his squad began to wonder what was going on.

Suddenly, the sea began to churn, and huge waves started to crash against the ship. The sky grew dark, and lightning flashed across the sky. High-Captain Andy and the others sought shelter in the ship's quarters, hoping to wait out the storm. However, after several hours, a bright light enveloped the ship, and everyone on board became unconscious.

When they woke up, they found that four mysterious individuals had left a letter and a bag of money before departing. Captain Enero and the others were bewildered, but High-Captain Andy had a feeling that they had finally arrived at Vagamon.

As they disembarked, High-Captain Andy instructed his squad to prepare their equipment and be ready for the training that was about to begin. They had a task to complete, and it was not going to be an easy one. The High-Captain reminded them that they needed to stay alert and be ready for anything that might happen.

The training was intense, and the High-Captain pushed them to their limits. They carried heavy loads, ran for miles, and honed their endurance skills. Even Marso, Adi, and Ada, who were not part of the squad, joined in the training.

After a week of hard work, they finally stumbled upon a small village. High-Captain Andy and the others were exhausted and in need of rest, so they decided to take a break and recuperate. They knew that they still had a lot of work to do, but they were grateful for the moment of respite.

Charles couldn't shake off the rumors about the Elemental 12 of Vagamon that he heard at the village. He was intrigued by the idea of powerful beings who lived in isolation and didn't join any groups. He wondered why they would choose to live like that and what made them so powerful.

The next day, Charles decided to gather his team and talk to High-Captain Andy about the Elemental 12. He found his captain and the others practicing their swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat in an open field.

"Captain, have you heard about the Elemental 12?" Charles asked.

High-Captain Andy paused and looked at him with a curious expression. "No, I don't have. What do you know about them?"

Vylar looked at Charles when he mentioned about the Elemental 12.

Charles explained what he had heard from the bartender in the village. "They were here in this village before and stayed for almost a month. They protected the city from bandits and demons, but then they vanished and went to roam around Vagamon."

High-Captain Andy's face darkened. "I've heard stories about them too. They're said to be incredibly powerful, and some even say they possess the ability to control the elements."

"Control the elements? That's incredible!" Hyacinth exclaimed.

"But why would they choose to live in isolation?" Ritmo asked.

"That's what we're going to find out," High-Captain Andy said determinedly. "We need to know more about them and their intentions. But we must be careful. The Elemental 12 are not to be taken lightly."

Charles nodded in agreement. He couldn't shake off the excitement of meeting the Elemental 12, but he knew they had to be cautious. They didn't want to cause any trouble and end up being their enemies.

Days passed and the team continued their training, but their thoughts were constantly occupied by the Elemental 12. Charles, Florance, Hyacinth, Whystry and Deimytr asked the locals for any information about them, but no one dared to speak about them openly.

One night, Charles couldn't sleep and decided to take a walk around the village. As he walked, he stumbled upon a group of people whispering and looking around anxiously. He approached them and asked what was going on.

"Shh! Keep your voice down. One of the Elemental 12 is here," a woman whispered, pointing to a nearby alley.

Charles couldn't believe his luck. He signaled Whystry and the others to follow him and approached the alley, but before he could get any closer, a strong gust of wind blew and a figure appeared before them.

It was a tall man with long silver hair and piercing blue eyes. He wore a long black coat and held a staff made of crystal in his hand.

"Why are you following me? What brings you here?" the man asked in a stern voice.

Charles stepped forward and introduced himself and the others. "We heard about you, the Elemental 12. Are you one of them? And wanted to know more. We mean no harm," he said respectfully.

"I am Zephyr," he studied them for a moment before nodding. "Very well. Follow me."

Charles and the others followed Zephyr through the narrow alleyways until they reached a hidden entrance. Zephyr led them inside, and they found themselves in a grand hall filled with strange artifacts and relics.

Zephyr introduced them to the other member of the Elemental 12, "that girl is Galilea." "Why did you bring some villagers here, Zephyr?" annoyingly asked by Galilea.

"We mean no harm Ms. Galilea, we are just curious about the Elemental 12 and it happens that Mr. Zephyr are nearby when we are walking," Hyacinth said.

"So what? What do you want from us?" Galilea said.

"We just want to hear your stories and maybe we can apply it since we came here for training," said by Hyacinth.

"Maybe you can teach us, Ms. Galilea and Mr. Zephyr," Charles said with an excitement.

"Oh that's impossible since I can kill all of you right here," said by Galilea.

"That's enough Galilea, they are just children that wants to get stronger," Zephyr said. "All of you just sit them and let's talk about why you are here for training."

The group sat down and listened intently as Zephyr and Galilea recounted their experiences and shared their techniques. Charles, Florance, Whysty, Deimytr and Hyacinth were amazed by the strength and skill of the Elemental 12. They were eager to learn and improve their own abilities.

As the conversation progressed, Galilea began to warm up to the group. She even offered to personally train them, much to their delight. Zephyr gave those words of encouragement and told them to train hard, for there were greater threats lurking in the shadows.

Excited and motivated, Charles, Florance, Whysty, Deimytr and Hyacinth left the meeting feeling determined to become stronger. They were grateful for the opportunity to learn from the Elemental 12, and they couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
